00:00She was defeated.
00:05Sitting on the last seat of the bus,
00:10he was drowning in deep thoughts.
00:13The bus had stopped at the den
00:16and all the seats were full.
00:19Many boys were sitting in the bus,
00:21they were immersed in chats.
00:25Meanwhile, an old man
00:28entered through the next door of the bus
00:33and started looking at the seats with shy eyes.
00:40He decided to leave his seat for the old man.
00:47But the old man was very far from him.
00:51He thought that one of the boys sitting in front
00:55would leave his seat and give it to the old man.
01:00So he changed his mind.
01:03But none of the boys left their seats and got up.
01:07The bus was moving.
01:09Meanwhile, a 14-year-old school-going girl
01:15got up from her seat and stood up.
01:18She had a heavy school bag on her back.
01:22She stood up and gave her seat to the old man.
01:26The girl said to the old man,
01:28you sit, I just have to get off at the next stop.
01:33The old man did not want to take the seat of that small girl.
01:38But the girl forced him to sit on her seat.
01:44He sat on the last seat of the bus,
01:46he was seeing everything.
01:48He was very ashamed of himself.
01:50And he started hiding his face from the people sitting on the bus.
01:54The boys sitting on the bus kept watching the drama.
01:57But no one left their seats and did not get up to make the old man sit in his place.
02:04Then an old man put the girl who was studying at that school on his seat.
02:16Seeing this, he sat on the last seat of the bus.
02:20He got some peace.
02:23He saw that little school-going girl again.
02:28And he felt very proud.
02:31He started enjoying the scenery outside the bus window.
02:35He looked at the boys sitting on the bus
02:38and then looked at the school-going girl.
02:43And then he started thinking,
02:45don't girls still have the right to be born?
02:53Thank you very much to all of you.
02:59Like our own child,
03:02which child does not love toys?
03:07But the most beautiful toy of small children is a balloon.
03:12As soon as a small child touches a round balloon like himself,
03:19he becomes very happy and starts playing.
03:26Touching the balloon, he feels as if he has shaken hands with a friend.
03:34For the first time, seeing a balloon,
03:37the child's eyes look surprised and bright,
03:41but immediately a smile comes on his face.
03:45When someone gives a balloon to a child,
03:48he becomes very grateful
03:50and considers the giver as his friend.
03:53Keeping this in mind,
03:55I always kept 5-7 balloons in my pocket,
03:59which I used to give to the children.
04:03Whenever a stranger came to me,
04:08I used to blow a balloon and give it to him.
04:12After blowing this balloon,
04:15tying it with a thread and giving it to the child,
04:19becoming friends with that child
04:22had become a part of my nature.
04:27Sometimes I used to play a game with a child at home.
04:32I used to take a balloon in one hand and a toffee in the other
04:35and ask him what he wanted.
04:38That child used to put his hand forward,
04:40but I used to pull both my hands back
04:42and used to say,
04:43no, take one,
04:44either take a balloon or toffee.
04:46The poor innocent child was stuck in a dilemma.
04:50He wanted to touch the balloon
04:52and he wanted to taste the sweetness of the toffee.
04:55He was stuck in a dilemma.
04:57Sometimes he tried to take one,
04:59sometimes the other.
05:01I used to make him so desperate
05:03that he was about to cry.
05:05But I would immediately give him both the things
05:08and he would be happy.
05:10With this double happiness,
05:12the child used to get even more desperate
05:14and I used to get a lot of peace.
05:17I used to make the child desperate for my own happiness
05:21and then to get rid of my guilt,
05:24I used to take the child in my lap and kiss him.
05:28One day, a two-and-a-half-year-old beggar child
05:32like a black balloon
05:34was standing at my door with his hands outstretched.
05:38I started thinking that
05:40a beggar child learns to walk on his feet
05:43and also learns to earn.
05:48I felt very sorry for that child
05:52and to give him one rupee,
05:54I put my hand in my pocket
05:56and my hand touched the balloon in my pocket.
05:59I thought that the child
06:01would never play with a balloon.
06:04He must have had money and food in his hand many times,
06:08but perhaps no one would have given him a balloon.
06:12I was thinking that
06:14how happy that child would be to get a balloon all of a sudden.
06:18Just like other children,
06:20the child would look surprised and delighted
06:23and he would also smile.
06:25I looked here and there,
06:27there was no one around.
06:29To double his happiness,
06:31I held a balloon tied with a thread
06:33in one hand and a rupee in the other hand
06:36and said,
06:37anyone can take one,
06:39balloon or rupee.
06:41That child had probably never seen a balloon so closely.
06:46I found that very exciting.
06:49But his hand was used to money only.
06:53On one side was his life
06:55and on the other side was his dream.
06:58He was not able to choose one of the two.
07:01Sometimes he would come towards one hand
07:04and sometimes towards the other hand.
07:07Just like other children,
07:09he could not cry in front of a stranger
07:14who was going to beg him.
07:19His hand could not go to any one side
07:22and it would remain spread in front of me.
07:25After making him wait for some time,
07:28I gave him one rupee and the balloon.
07:31I thought that his happiness would also double
07:34after getting two things.
07:36I thought that maybe that child
07:38was feeling like he had won the world
07:41by taking money in one hand and a dream in the other.
07:46But I did not see any shine in his eyes.
07:51He quietly took the money and the balloon
07:54and looked at me with strange eyes
07:58and put an innocent accusation on me.
08:02If he had to give both,
08:04then why did he make me wait for so long?
08:08And if he had made me wait,
08:10then why did he not kiss me like his own child?
08:16I just kept looking at that innocent beggar's child
08:22like a defeated and confused person
08:27who had been made very small in my eyes.
08:31Suddenly my eyes became numb.
08:34That's it.
08:35After that day, I stopped playing with the balloons.
08:39Thank you very much.
