PAGASA: Rain showers, thunderstorms to prevail over eastern parts of the Philippines

The eastern sections of Southern Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao may experience cloudy skies, scattered rain showers, and thunderstorms due to warm winds from the Pacific Ocean, known as the easterlies, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said on Tuesday, June 25.

00:00So based on our latest satellite image, the effect of this southwest monsoon is getting weaker and the easterly winds from the Pacific Ocean are getting stronger.
00:11And if we can see here in the latest satellite image, although almost the whole country is experiencing a cloudy weather,
00:17but now in the early morning, the clouds are getting thinner and it is only affecting the areas of Palawan.
00:24And if we can see, there are also clouds in the eastern part of Visayas.
00:29So today, we can still expect that it will be rainy season here in the area of Palawan, in a large part of Visayas,
00:36and also in the eastern portions of Southern Luzon and northeastern portion of Mindanao.
00:42Meanwhile, in a large part of our country, although there are still chances of sudden rains or isolated rain showers or thunderstorms,
00:51we can still expect that it will be hot and rainy weather, especially in the afternoon.
00:57For now, we are also not being monitored by low-pressure areas or typhoons inside and outside of our Philippine Area of Responsibility.
01:04So for the next few days, the easterlies will continue to move and possibly bring rainy weather, especially here in the eastern part of our country.
01:16So there will be a time here in Luzon because of the effect of this easterlies,
01:20we can expect rainy weather here in Bicol Region and also in Quezon Province and Romblon.
01:26Meanwhile, in the eastern part of our country, there will be hot weather, especially in the afternoon,
01:32and there are still chances of isolated rain showers or thunderstorms when it comes to the afternoon or night.
01:39So the temperature outside today will be around 25 to 33 degrees Celsius.
01:45The maximum temperatures here in Tuguegarao will also be around 35 degrees Celsius.
01:54For Baguio, it will be around 18 to 25 degrees Celsius.
01:58For Metro Manila, it will be around 25 to 33 degrees Celsius.
02:02For Tagaytay, it will be around 23 to 31 degrees Celsius.
02:06And for Legazpi, the maximum temperatures will be around 32 degrees Celsius.
02:12For the time being, in the eastern part of our country,
02:16because of the effect of the easterlies,
02:18we can expect rainy weather in Palawan and also in a large part of Visayan and northeastern portion of Mindanao,
02:26particularly in Caraga.
02:28In the northern part of Visayas and Mindanao,
02:31although there is a high chance of isolated rain showers,
02:34the weather will still be hot, especially in the afternoon.
02:40In terms of the temperature for Calayaan Islands and Puerto Princesa,
02:44the maximum temperatures will be 31 degrees Celsius,
02:4732 degrees Celsius for Iloilo and Cebu,
02:52and 25 to 31 degrees Celsius for Tacloban.
02:57For Zamboanga and Cagayan de Oro,
02:59the maximum temperatures will be 32 degrees Celsius,
03:03and the temperature for Metro Davao will be 25 to 33 degrees Celsius.
03:09We are just monitoring the thunderstorm advisory
03:12that our Regional Services Division is issuing through our social media accounts.
03:19In terms of our ocean,
03:20we still do not have a gale warning that is high for our countrymen,
03:24so our countrymen are still far away,
03:27especially those who have small sea vehicles.
