00:00Those are the remarks that are really headlining here in Israel and really dogging the prime
00:06minister today, after months and months of negotiations and war cabinet decisions and
00:14backing the latest US broker deal, which was in some cases described as Netanyahu's deal,
00:20the Israeli deal, which is a three-phase deal to bring out all the hostages, 120 hostages,
00:28in phases that would ultimately also bring what Israel called a permanent cessation to
00:33the hostilities, what others called a permanent ceasefire.
00:39Suddenly Netanyahu goes on the Israeli network, Channel 14, and says, no, no, no, I only support
00:46right now a partial ceasefire.
00:50He said, I'm prepared to get some of our hostages out, but I won't give up the full fight against
00:56Hamas.
00:57Now, you can understand why that has gone over so terribly here.
01:02The Israeli families of those hostages are livid that the prime minister would consider
01:08either totally abandoning the hostages or bringing out some of them, but not others.
01:15And many people are wondering now, is this a new Israeli position?
01:20What does this do for the chances of actually reaching a ceasefire that the US is backing
01:27and pushing?
01:29You can imagine there's been lots of tension between Netanyahu and the White House over
01:34other comments with alleged delays in arms shipments.
01:38Now Netanyahu seems to be going back on what he promised the Americans in this deal.
01:45This is actually many people here calling for Netanyahu's office to clarify these remarks,
01:53which have really created a huge backlash here today.
