00:00I'm Sylvia Garcia and I'm from Houston, Texas, and I just wanted to underscore what many

00:09of my colleagues here today have already said.

00:11This is about keeping families together.

00:14There is no better or no more important family value of our country than keeping families together.

00:22I know that many of us were just stricken when we saw the past work of the former twice

00:30impeached, 34 felony convict, former president who was about tearing families apart.

00:38This is different and it's different because Joe Biden has a heart, has a heart.

00:44He knows this is the right thing to do.

00:47He knows it's the Christian thing to do.

00:50He knows it's in the country's best interest.

00:53And all you have to do is look at a GAO report that came out a couple of months ago that

00:59simply said that the immigration surge in the next 10 years will contribute $7 trillion,

01:07trillion, that's with a T, dollars in the next decade, and about $1 trillion in revenues,

01:17because just like Javier is a nurse, he pays taxes.

01:22So revenues that come to our country through many of these workers are important.

01:27What would we do if we had a $1 trillion gap?

01:32Think about it.

01:34So it's more than just keeping families together.

01:37It's also about keeping our economy strong.

01:40It's about making sure that all these kids have a shot at the American dream.

01:45I couldn't be prouder of Javier.

01:47Listen to what he said.

01:49He worked during the pandemic in the most critical cases.

01:54And I'm from Houston.

01:56I know the work of Bethesda's Hospital.

01:58I know the work that they did there.

02:00I worked with them throughout the pandemic.

02:02And we need more people like him.

02:05And that's the image that, frankly, I ask you all to project.

02:10We're tired of, frankly, just seeing the same photographs of the border.

02:14No offense, Veronica.

02:16You know, it's almost like a stage setting now.

02:19Everybody just walks there, takes pictures, does the photo ops.

02:23Go visit to the people that are being impacted by this action.

02:29It is heartfelt.

02:31It is people who are working, people who are contributing,

02:34people who are in our churches and our schools,

02:37people who, frankly, are as American as we are.

02:42And their hearts are mine and soul.

02:44They're Americans.

02:45And I tell you, the President's right.

02:48America loves Dreamers.

02:51They get 70% to 80% support for what we're doing today.

02:56America loves Dreamers, and Dreamers love America.
