00:00Australian police announced on Sunday that they are investigating an incident at Adelaide's
00:08Westfield Marion Shopping Centre that led to an evacuation and resulted in minor injuries.
00:14We weren't really sure what was happening. People sort of started moving and then there
00:18was a message catch with the speakers that we had to get out and everyone sort of like
00:22started to panic a bit and sort of just got out of the theatre through one of the emergency
00:26exits and made our way down. Didn't really know what was sort of going on but my wife
00:32and our daughter are still inside one of the stores in lockdown so that's why we've sort
00:36of, that's why we've hung around obviously waiting for them to make sure that they're
00:40okay. So we've spoken to them and they're getting looked after in one of the stores
00:43and but obviously really sad serious situation and obviously with everything that happened
00:49in Sydney everything's hyper vigilant and on alert.
00:51I don't really know a lot. I know that there was an emergency called. I was waiting in
00:55OPSM for an appointment and they ushered us to the back room and said lights out and wait
01:03for further news and I went ahead and had my appointment in the end and then was okay
01:10to go but I understand they had come in in the meantime and said to people that you can
01:15leave by the back door so I believe it's all contained but I don't really know.
01:20Police said they received reports of two groups of young men fighting in the food court with
01:24some individuals reportedly carrying weapons.
01:28I have looked at the CCTV. It involves three youth and I will call them boys under 18 years
01:36of a Caucasian appearance. They approach another group of boys and an altercation occurs. The
01:45expandable batons are seen and at this stage we can't discount any other weapons but we
01:50do have some reports that a knife may be involved. Those three boys chased the other
01:55boys through the centre. It does not appear to be a random attack and it does not appear
02:00that the three boys were intending on targeting anyone else in the centre.
02:05He said no one was injured in the altercation among the group of young men but a 77-year-old
02:11woman might have fractured a bone during the evacuation and a 14-year-old girl might have
02:16been injured in the process. The incident comes less than three months after a man attacked
02:21shoppers with a knife at another Westfield mall in Sydney, killing six people.
