00:00A block of Sekolah Kebangsan Abaka, a primary school in Tawau district on Sabah's east
00:07coast, was destroyed by a fire that broke out around midnight on Saturday.
00:13According to a spokesman from the Fire and Rescue Department, the wooden block was raised,
00:18but firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control by 1.20 a.m. on Sunday.
00:24There were no casualties in the incident.
00:27The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
00:30Sabah Education Director Datuk Raisin Saidin stated that they were promptly informed about
00:35the incident and immediate steps are being taken to ensure that classes are not disrupted.
00:41He has instructed the district education office to implement the necessary temporary measures.
00:46The affected block was used by Year 4, 5 and 6 pupils.
