00:34In her resignation letter to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.,
00:38VP Sara said that the 30-day transition plan for the DepEd Central Office is now ready,
00:43as well as the boards and councils led by the DepEd and the Central Office
00:47to ensure the proper replacement of the Literature class of the new Department of Education.
00:54However, she will remain as the Deputy President of the country and will continue to support the programs of the OVP.
01:02VP Sara also thanked President Marcos Jr. for giving her the chance to serve as a member of his Cabinet.
01:11The Presidential Communications Office confirmed that the President has accepted the resignation of Vice President Duterte
01:16and thanked her for her two years of service.
01:19In her press conference, VP Sara did not mention the reason for her resignation,
01:24but she gave the DepEd achievements under her leadership,
01:28including the implementation of a solid DepEd agenda with the aim of improving basic education in the country,
01:35the implementation of a solid curriculum for Kindergarten to Grade 10,
01:42and the implementation of education facilities and programs to ensure the well-being of the students.
01:49We continue to provide awareness and work with partner agencies to shield our learners and teachers
01:56from all forms of abuse, illegal drugs, terrorism, insurgency, and all forms of criminal activities.
02:06In our thrust to promote inclusivity, we continue to strengthen the alternative learning system
02:13and our special needs education. No child should be left behind.
02:20Vice President Duterte also did not mention the programs for teachers
02:23who are her frontliners in promoting education in the country.
02:26We have removed all administrative tasks to unburden our teachers,
02:31to bring them back to the classroom, and to allow them to focus on teaching.
02:38We have also given our teachers their much-needed rest,
02:43a 30-day no-mandatory or voluntary tasks break, which they are currently enjoying as we speak.
02:55VP Sara also introduced the public and private sectors that have become the backbone of DepEd
03:00to make changes within the institution possible.
03:04In the two years that we have been together,
03:07we have built a story of solidarity,
03:12of solidarity in the hope of building a young and prosperous country.
03:19But no matter how beautiful the story is, it also ends in vain.
03:27The Philippine Business for Education or PBED also emphasized
03:30the importance of continuing VP Sara's initiatives as part of a solid agenda.
03:36The group hopes that the new curriculum will be implemented quickly
03:40so that there will be no impediments to education.
03:43VP Sara's decision is respected by the NTF-ELCAC.
03:47The group also gave a large amount of money to the NTF-ELCAC
03:52so that it can reach its objectives to promote peace and prosperity in the country.
03:57Because of the help of the Vice President,
04:00progress has been made on how the root of the insurgency should be addressed in the country.
04:05According to a political analyst,
04:07VP Sara's progress was not unexpected because of what happened last month.
04:13But it is good that an educator should be the next DepEd Secretary
04:18so that the department can be properly managed.
04:22I would like to say again that there is a credential, capable and true educational leader.
04:29And we can hope that it will work to improve our educational system.
04:34Malacanang has not yet announced who could be VP Sara's next Education Secretary.
