00:00And I've visited many schools in the area recently, which are in these conditions where
00:04children are being taught in porter cabins, which are cold, which have black mould, and
00:09which are in extremely poor condition. So I don't think it's acceptable in 2024 for
00:14any child to be taught in conditions which look like this, where we have situations where
00:20children are being taught in schools with black mould on the ceiling. It's an extreme
00:26health risk for those children. I don't think it's acceptable at all. We also then have
00:33porter cabins which look like this, which are just simply not being maintained by the
00:37Education Authority. And I've brought these photos here today because I think it's very
00:42important. If children in our community and in our constituency are seeing this every
00:47day when they go to school, then people on here who make these decisions should see
00:51these photos as well. So we also have conditions like this, which simply are not acceptable.
00:58Children are going to school every day in conditions which look just like this. So this
01:05may not be a priority for the Education Minister, but it's certainly a priority for me. It's
01:09certainly a priority for Sinn Féin. And what we will continue to do is to stand up for
01:14those children, for those families, and for our community to ensure that our children
01:19can go to school in conditions that are fit for purpose, that are safe,
01:23and where they can be taught in conditions that are appropriate for school education.
