00:00The Armed Forces of the Philippines has confirmed that the Philippine Navy has a person who was seriously injured yesterday.

00:09The United States has also condemned the so-called irresponsible action of China against the Philippines.

00:16Chino Gaston has been charged.

00:21This kind of behavior is provocative, it's reckless, it's unnecessary, and it could lead to misunderstandings and miscalculations.

00:30That could lead to something much bigger and much more violent.

00:33The United States is responsible for the actions of the China Coast Guard against the Philippine soldiers where one soldier was confirmed to be injured.

00:42We're deeply concerned about the injuries suffered by this Philippine sailor.

00:46The U.S. State Department has also condemned the so-called irresponsible action of China

00:52which was stopped by the Philippines in carrying out maritime operations and delivering supplies to the BRP Sierra Madre.

00:58We stand by our Philippine allies.

01:00The PRC vessel's dangerous and deliberate use of water cannons, ramming, blocking maneuvers, and towing damaged Philippine vessels

01:08endangered the lives of Philippine service members.

01:11It's reckless and it threatens regional peace and stability.

01:14In a statement, the Armed Forces of the Philippines confirmed that a Philippine Navy soldier was seriously injured in the incident.

01:22It happened on the pretext of the China Coast Guard's attack on the rotation and resupply mission in Iungin Shoal.

01:28The injured soldier was rescued, evacuated, and received medical treatment.

01:33The continuous violent action of the China Coast Guard is unacceptable.

01:37They should stop themselves so that tensions in the West Philippine Sea will not worsen.

01:44In a statement, Defense Secretary Gilberto Teodoro Jr. condemned China's reckless behavior.

01:49He said that it is out of line with China's first statements of good faith and decency.

01:54Teodoro did not mention additional details.

01:57But he said that the AFP will do its utmost to protect territorial integrity, sovereignty, and the rights of the country.

02:05The incident in Iungin Shoal was the third time in a row that Philippine people were injured in the rotation and resupply mission.

02:16The first time was on March 5, when two China Coast Guard ships simultaneously water-cannoned the resupply ship Onayza May 4.

02:26Four of its passengers were injured.

02:30Onayza May 4's water-cannon was once again water-cannoned on March 23.

02:36In the video obtained by the GMA Integrated News,

02:40it was seen how the ship's interior was damaged in almost an hour of water-cannonning by the China Coast Guard.

02:48Less than three people were injured.

02:51According to a security analyst,

02:53yesterday, China made the soldiers in Iungin a type of illegal use of force that could be used as a basis

03:00to invoke the Mutual Defense Treaty of the United States and the Philippines.

03:05It's an unlawful arm attack that of course has caused injury and of course damages and it's a violation of international law.

03:15Military vessels are supposed to be immune from boarding and of course harassment.

03:23If they can do that, they can also do it to the Sierra Madre.

03:27Dicastro also believes that the AFP's secret agent, Maring Hudyat, is consulting with the United States and its allies.
