00:00In the midst of the rising tensions in the West Philippine Sea,

00:05the upcoming law on how to regulate the maritime zones of the country is about to be passed.

00:14J.P. Soriano is on the scene.

00:20The President has already signed the Philippine Maritime Zones Act,

00:26which is the consolidated version of the Philippine Maritime Zones Act,

00:35after approval by the Bicameral Conference Committee.

00:43Our rights and boundaries are now clear.

00:49It is clear that we have a law that allows us to go fishing and go to the beach.

00:56We will also return to the topic of why there is a Chinese Coast Guard parked in Lubang, Mindoro.

01:01So, this will be clear as to where the boundaries are.

01:03To go! To go! And stop! This is arbitrary!

01:09This law is important in the midst of China's aggressive movements

01:14within the exclusive economic zone of the Philippines.

01:17It is also a way to strengthen the contents of the 2016 arbitral ruling

01:48called the Arrangement on Improving Philippine-China Maritime Communication Mechanisms.

02:00between the Philippines and China regarding maritime issues.

02:05These include the so-called leaders of the Philippines and China,

02:10as well as the Foreign Ministry and the Coast Guard of the two countries.
