00:00If they do not comply, especially if they continue in their non-compliance, they can revoke their permits.
00:09This is the tight-knit situation of the Metro Manila Council regarding Telco and Maralco,
00:14which are now in trouble and are connected to cables that are often a source of misfortune.
00:20Earlier, the MMC agreed that each LGU in Metro Manila will pass a resolution
00:26to immediately start cleaning the spaghetti wires or the cables that are connected to electricity or telephone and internet.
00:36According to MMDA Chairman Atty. Romando Artes,
00:39the posts are often given away because of the number of cables that are connected to it.
00:44Aside from traffic accidents, it is also often said that a post is dropped from a fire,
00:50just like the two subsequent incidents of dropping posts in Manila.
00:56Gangling wires have been a problem for a long time, most of which are no longer working.
01:02Let's not wait for a time when there will be more deaths because of it.
01:06It's better that we make steps to avoid any accidents or tragedies.
01:12This must be avoided so that it will not lead to the loss of life.
01:19Of the two incidents last week, one of the posts dropped because of the weight of the wire.
01:29Imagine if a person fell from this post, it will cause serious injuries and it can lead to death.
01:44One of the recommendations is to limit the use of up to 10 cables per post.
01:50MMDA and MMC will check the sufficient information dissemination to prepare the affected areas.
01:58Meanwhile, Meralco started their anti-urban blight operations this Monday in the Pateros area.
