00:00Oh my god, am I your hero?
00:02Oh, sick!
00:03Welcome to WatchMojo, and today we're celebrating Father's Day with some of the best animated dads on TV.
00:09The ones we wouldn't mind raising us if they could.
00:11I've never heard Maggie laugh like that before.
00:13Well, when was the last time dad gave her that kind of attention?
00:18Number 20, Papa Smurf.
00:20The Smurfs.
00:20It takes a village to raise a child, but it only takes one father to raise a village.
00:24Papa Smurf is the wisest Smurf there is.
00:27I'm Smurfing my best Smurfette, but this problem has me at my wits' end.
00:32If I could only fill in those blanks, I'd have the counter-formula.
00:35He's over 500 years young, and still as sharp as a tack.
00:38As the man in charge, Papa is usually the one the Smurfs go to for guidance,
00:42which he is all too happy to provide when he's not busy in his lab tinkering with magic.
00:46Do you feel yourself getting stronger?
00:48I think I do, Papa Smurf.
00:52Yes, I do feel it, Papa Smurf.
00:55I do!
00:56Undeniably, his most important task is keeping the town and his little Smurfs safe from Gargamel.
01:01His dedication to the task, as well as attending to the
01:03well-being of his fellow Smurfs definitely earns him a World's Greatest Smurfs Dad mug.
01:11Hello?
01:12Happy Papa's Day!
01:14Papa's Day?
01:16Bopper's Day!
01:17Why, so it is!
01:18Number 19, Lynn L. Loud Sr.
01:21The Loud House.
01:22Raising one kid is a tough enough job, but raising 11?
01:25We definitely need to give Lynn Sr. some credit for taking the challenge.
01:28Lynn is the head chef of the household, and even owns his own restaurant.
01:31Even though he's the father of 11,
01:33he doesn't like playing favorites and tries to show his children that he loves them all equally.
01:37Wow, Dad, did you make 11 different dishes?
01:40Yep, no big deal.
01:41Just wanted to do something special, so I made all your faves.
01:46He takes part in his kids' activities and only disciplines them when absolutely necessary.
01:50He's over-emotional at times, and occasionally acts almost as childish as the kids.
01:54But he does his best, and ensures that there is a lot of love in the Loud House.
01:57You up for one more episode of Prison Pageant Wars?
02:00Obviously!
02:01We have to find out what talent Lil' Juice goes with!
02:06Number 18, Hakoda.
02:08Avatar of the Last Airbender.
02:10Sokka.
02:12Hi, Dad.
02:17We love Uncle Iroh for being the father figure that Zuko needed.
02:20However, there's one actual father we'd like to give some special attention to.
02:24Sokka and Katara's dad, Hakoda.
02:26Being trained as a warrior, Hakoda is brave and strong-willed.
02:29However, when he was sent off to war, he was forced to leave his children behind.
02:33This wasn't an easy decision, as he loves Sokka and Katara dearly.
02:37I love you more than anything.
02:39You and your brother are my entire world.
02:42I thought about you every day I was gone, and every night when I went to sleep.
02:47He encouraged Katara's bending abilities and saw potential in Sokka that others overlooked.
02:51While leaving his family stung, he made up for it by continuing to be loving and supportive.
02:56Suffice it to say, he was the proudest father in the world when his kids helped end the war.
03:01Number 17, Lucifer Morningstar.
03:03Has-Been Hotel.
03:04It's fitting that Lucifer looks like a circus man since he's the ringmaster of hell itself
03:08and Charlie Morningstar's father.
03:10The apple doesn't fall too far from the tree,
03:12as Lucifer shares his daughter's quirky personality and is a bit of a dreamer himself.
03:16Now presenting the magic testicle back-flipping rubber duck!
03:24That spits fire!
03:26However, they grew distant over the years,
03:28and Lucifer doesn't quite understand her dream of redeeming hell's residents,
03:32mostly due to his own mistakes in the past.
03:34Despite that, he loves his daughter more than anything
03:36and wants to protect her in any way he can.
03:38If anyone tries to harm her or take his place in her heart,
03:41he'll show them why he's hell's number one daddy.
03:44There's no substitute for pure angelic power!
03:49Who just happens to also be your blood!
03:52Number 16, William Allister McGregor, aka Elliot Birch.
03:56Big Mouth.
03:57Going through puberty is scary enough for kids,
03:59even without a hormone monster hanging around.
04:01But if they're lucky, they have a father as supportive as Nick's dad, Elliot.
04:06Nicholas, we're your parents.
04:08You can tell us anything.
04:10He may come off as overly eccentric and a little too affectionate,
04:13but he's open-minded and patient enough to deal with a pubescent kid.
04:17Sadly, Elliot never got this much love from his own father,
04:20who trained him to be a nipple-twisting champion.
04:22No, we're not kidding.
04:23Thankfully, while he had a hard childhood,
04:25he became a soft, loving daddy to his kids,
04:27even if he comes off as a little too supportive.
04:30If supporting your son in his darkest hour is a crime,
04:32well, I guess you should arrest me.
04:34Yeah, that's precisely what we're doing, dad.
04:37So get in the car.
04:38Number 15, Hubert Hugh Beaumont Neutron.
04:41The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius.
04:44Hugh Neutron is a father who appreciates the simple things in life,
04:47especially when they involve pie and ducks.
04:49It's plain as day that Jimmy didn't inherit his smartness from him.
04:52Boy Hugh lacks in brains, he makes up for in hilarity and heart.
04:56Let's start with biology.
04:58All right, now, the heart goes beep, beep, beep,
05:00and the red gooey stuff goes into the...
05:04You might want to pay attention here.
05:06He loves his wife Judy dearly and encourages Jimmy's scientific pursuits,
05:10even if he doesn't understand them or is usually the one who causes him to go haywire.
05:13He may be a kid at heart, but he has his priorities straight,
05:16as he gave up a chance to be rich just to have a loving family.
05:19Well, that $50 that you didn't invest with McSpanky, what did you spend it on?
05:26Well, son, I spent it on your mother's wedding ring.
05:30We're happy to say that the decision paid off in a major way.
05:33Number 14, Goofy Goof, Goof Troop.
05:36Even some of our favourite Disney icons have had to step up in parenthood.
05:39Donald Duck is usually a surrogate parent to his three nephews,
05:42and Goofy became a single parent once we met his son Max in Goof Troop.
05:46As usual, Goofy is a clumsy dimwit with a heart of gold.
05:49While he's not always graceful, his son is his whole world to him,
05:52and he'll do anything to support and provide for Max.
05:55Well, I'm growing up, Dad, but I still love Christmas, and I still love you.
06:01While Max loves his dad back, he gets easily embarrassed by Goofy's, well, goofiness.
06:06Their bond gets stronger as Max grows older,
06:08and he learns more and more to appreciate his dad's efforts, even when they end hilariously.
06:15Roxanne, I'd like you to meet my dad.
06:19Number 13, Hamato Yoshi, aka Master Splinter, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
06:25There have been several interpretations of the Turtle's sensei and fatherly figure,
06:29from the lazy but protected former movie star from Rise of the TMNT
06:32to the unstoppable ninja master from the 2012 series,
06:36but for this list, we're giving the OG mentor his place in the spotlight.
06:39My four young wards nicknamed me Splinter for obvious reasons.
06:47Mutated into a rat and forced to live in the sewers,
06:50Splinter took in four mutated baby turtles and trained them in the art of ninjutsu.
06:54While he usually treats them more like his students than his adopted sons,
06:57he protects and nurtures them as if they were his own offspring,
07:00perfectly demonstrating that you don't need to be blood to be family.
07:03Well, perhaps it is my karma to live my life as a rat.
07:08The important thing is that you are safe and we are together.
07:13Number 12, Jack Fenton, Danny Phantom.
07:16While Matty is the beauty in the brains, Jack Fenton is the passion behind Fentonworks.
07:21He's obsessed with ghosts and has dedicated his life to capturing them,
07:24usually unsuccessfully. Though he's not the best ghost hunter, he's definitely a pretty great father.
07:29I'm going to give you some fatherly advice.
07:31Then I'm going to say something that makes you cringe and run out of the room in embarrassment.
07:34While he embarrasses his kids, he loves Danny and Jazz dearly and does what he can to protect them.
07:39He clashes with Danny's alter ego, Danny Phantom,
07:42not knowing that he's persecuting his own son. But the minute Jack finds out the truth,
07:46he puts his obsession aside to reassure Danny that he'll always love his son, half ghost or not.
07:50We love you, sweetie. You.
07:54Whether you're ghost, boy, or something in between.
07:56Plus, even if Jack can be a buffoon, you can't say he isn't a great inventor.
08:00Number 11, Heinz Doofenshmirtz, Phineas and Ferb.
08:03No, I may be an evil scientist, but it doesn't take a degree purchased from the internet with
08:07your ex-wife's money to know how special and important you are to me.
08:11While Lawrence Fletcher isn't the most observant, he is loving and encouraging to all three of his
08:16children. Arguably, the only Phineas and Ferb dad who's better than him is Heinz Doofenshmirtz.
08:21It's surprising given how bad his own parents were,
08:24favoring his brother and constantly neglecting him, not to mention using him as a lawn gnome.
08:29Thankfully, Heinz didn't inherit their abhorrent parenting traits. He may be an evil scientist,
08:34but he loves his daughter Vanessa unconditionally and will bend over backward to make her happy.
08:38Oh, come on, Vanessa. I came halfway around the world to get you.
08:42Halfway?
08:43Yeah, halfway around the world.
08:45You meant me halfway.
08:46I suppose you could put it that way.
08:49While Vanessa is embarrassed by him and doesn't appreciate his diabolical scheming,
08:53she can't deny that when Heinz gets it right, he's not so bad a dad after all.
08:56Number 10, Professor Utonium, the Powerpuff Girls.
09:00Following a bizarre combination of sugar, spice, everything nice, and chemical X,
09:04Professor Utonium accidentally created three super-powered little girls.
09:08And what was his first reaction? To immediately treat them like his own daughters. He plays with
09:12them, aids them in their crime-fighting, and offers words of advice and support when they need it most.
09:17If you can just face your fears, then I know you can find the courage to beat them.
09:23There are times when the Professor may be a little overprotective of his little superheroes
09:27and needs to lay down the law from time to time, but it's all out of love.
09:30There isn't anything he wouldn't do for the perfect little girls, for better or worse.
09:34You girls are everything to me.
09:37You are my life, and I'm responsible for your safety and protection.
09:43Aw, Professor!
09:44Number 9, Hank Rutherford Hill, King of the Hill.
09:48Hank is a simple man who values hard work and, of course, propane and propane accessories.
09:53He's more a traditional father and has trouble connecting with his only son, Bobby,
09:56due to their conflicting personalities. While Hank is more straight-laced and stern,
10:00Bobby is a quirky, free spirit. Or as Hank usually puts it, that boy ain't right.
10:086 a.m. and already the boy ain't right.
10:11Despite being polar opposites, Hank truly cares for Bobby and learns to respect his
10:15differences over time. In turn, Bobby sees Hank as a hero and wants to make him proud while still
10:20being true to himself. In a way, the two teach each other, making the moments they truly see
10:24eye-to-eye much more memorable. Anything I grill unevenly can be used against me in a food court
10:30of law. Number 8, Gregory Gregg Universe, Neh Demayo, Steven Universe, and Steven Universe
10:42For most of his life, Greg Universe had no direction in life other than music and his van.
10:47But all that changed the day he fell in love with Rose Quartz. When Rose gave up her physical form,
10:51Greg became a single father to their only son, Steven. These two have a father-son bond many
11:03of us envy. But with Steve living with the Gems, Greg doesn't get as much time to spend with his
11:07Stew Ball. While he doesn't know much about Gem stuff, Greg is always willing to offer support
11:12and advice to his son whenever possible. He may not be perfect, but like he always says,
11:23if every pork chop were perfect, we wouldn't have hot dogs. Number 7, Charles Norbert Chaz
11:29Finster Sr., Rugrats. The dads of Rugrats may be oblivious at times, but there's no doubt that
11:34they love their kids. While we'd love to tip our hats to Stew, we think Chaz deserves the
11:46world's greatest dad mug in this show. It's plain to see how much Chucky inherited from Chaz,
11:50both being overly cautious and plagued by allergies. Chaz understands Chucky's many fears,
11:55is very protective, and values his son's opinion even at a young age,
11:59as evident when Chucky saves his daddy from making a horrible mistake.
12:04When Kira and Kimmy entered their lives, he didn't hesitate to welcome his new daughter
12:16with welcome arms, showing that Chaz is a loving, dependable man. Number 6, Bandit Healer,
12:21Bluey. If you want a father who gives 150% for his kids' entertainment,
12:25look no further than Bandit Healer. While he's usually reluctant to do so,
12:36Bandit usually ends up taking part in his daughter's games. He fully commits to the
12:40bit, creating a wide variety of hilarious characters and enduring whatever pain comes
12:45his way. When he's not taking part in playtime, he offers advice and life lessons, though most
12:57of his attempts don't always go as planned. Despite this, everything he does is to help
13:01give Bluey and Bingo the good life they deserve. If there's one thing Bandit always succeeds in,
13:06it's showing his kids how much he cherishes them. Number 5, Sir Nigel Archibald Thornberry,
13:11The Wild Thornberries. On the surface, Nigel Thornberry is an eccentric goofball, but underneath,
13:17he's nothing short of passionate. He travels across the globe hosting his nature show because
13:21of his immense love for animals. Of course, his love for his family is immeasurable,
13:25especially for his children. While he's often oblivious, he offers a vast amount of wisdom
13:37nobody would expect and is more than ready to put himself at risk to protect his loved ones.
13:42He was even willing to give up his nature show and settle down just to give his family a normal life.
13:46But Nigel isn't normal, and that's just another part of what makes him so lovable.
13:56Number 4, George J. Jetson, The Jetsons. Even in a future where technology has evolved to solve
14:02mankind's burdens, fatherhood is a job that never gets easier. Nobody knows this better
14:06than George Jetson. Along with having to provide for a six-and-a-half-year-old prodigy
14:20and rebellious teenage daughter, he struggles as a breadwinner with a boss who barely respects him.
14:25He's practically fired every episode. It's no wonder George can get easily stressed out at work
14:31and home. Despite all that, he's still a loving, caring father who wants to provide his family
14:36with a safe and happy lifestyle. With all he has to endure in the process, maybe he should get a
14:47medal for Father's Day. Number 3, Frederick Fred Flintstone, The Flintstones. When it comes to dumb
14:52cartoon dads, Fred Flintstone practically founded the trope. He can be a bumbling schemer and a
14:57blowhard, but the birth of baby Pebbles brought out Fred's more sensitive, loving side.
15:06He makes it loud and clear how much he loves his only daughter, and bends over backwards just to
15:15make her happy. Of course, he can still be a short-tempered bonehead, overprotective,
15:19and jealous, but it's just part of his charm, and seeing him gush over his pebbly poo is just
15:23plain adorable. Pebbles inherited a few of Fred's scheming traits as she got older,
15:34showing how much she valued him as her father. Number 2, Nedward Ned Flanders Jr., The Simpsons.
15:51As iconic as Homer Simpson is, his blunders as a parent often outweigh the successes.
15:55Meanwhile, his neighbor, Ned Flanders, usually outclasses Homer as a father. While his two
16:00boys, Rod and Todd, are sheltered, Ned still goes out of his way to provide a happy, comfortable
16:05life for them. His attempts feel even more notable after his wife, Maud, dies in Season 11,
16:17leaving him to raise his sons on his own. In addition, he treats his neighbor's kids as if
16:21they were his own. While he may sometimes put the Flanders in Flanderization, it barely detracts
16:26from him being a loving, providing father. Number 1, Robert Bob Belcher Jr., Bob's Burgers.
16:48Of all the adult animated families, the Belchers seem to have the healthiest dynamic, and of course,
16:53running the household is the man himself, Bob. To be blunt, Bob's kids are oddballs,
16:57and he has no qualms saying it out loud. Despite this, they're his oddballs, and he loves them
17:06more than anything. His own father was controlling and forced him to work in a restaurant since
17:11childhood, but Bob doesn't want that for his kids. Even if he doesn't always understand them,
17:15he goes above and beyond to ensure their safety and happiness, even at his own expense. He's not
17:20perfect, but we'd all be pretty lucky to have a father as honest and caring as Bob Belcher.
