Hawthorne James from 'Speed' on Movie's Lasting Legacy

As far as people thinking of "Speed" every time a crime with a bus occurs, Hawthorne says he's not surprised -- the iconic flick made Sandra and Keanu superstars, coincidentally, 30 years ago this month.

00:00I think, I personally think that's one of the greatest action movies ever made.
00:07And no, I had no clue of the legacy, I had no clue how good the film was until I sat
00:13in Man's Chinese Theater and watched the film put together with everybody else.
00:18And my mouth was, this is what we did?
00:23I was so pleased, I couldn't tell you how pleased I was.
00:27And I almost turned it down, yeah, twice.
00:34And they kept coming back.
00:35But that was it, you have to remember, that was in the 90s.
00:38The world, the motion picture world has changed.
00:43In the 90s, if they wanted you, they wanted you.
00:47Now they got a thousand people behind you and they say, ah, you know, not worth it.
00:51But back then and that day, they wanted you and they would pursue you until it became
00:56ridiculous, of course.
00:58But they did come back at me.
01:01And I don't know what I would do without that movie.
01:04I mean, I've had people from Poland, Japan, all come up to me and talk about that movie.
