00:00Welcome back to TMZ Sports, Mike and Mojo.
00:07Mojo, we're going to stick with Shohei Ohtani.
00:10Now the question is, what's that ball worth?
00:14The 50th home run ball, right?
00:17Ohtani steps to the plate, Mojo.
00:18There's the ball, which is about to be worth a whole bunch of money after he puts this
00:23massive swing on it.
00:24Watch this, Mojo.
00:25The fans knew that this thing was going to be super valuable.
00:29It's a little bit hard to see, but there were a bunch of people who just were diving
00:34all over the place, Mojo, trying to get their hands on this incredibly valuable baseball.
00:42The question is, ooh, does he get it, Mojo?
00:48Oh, Mojo, you can look at that like a fancy mansion.
00:56That's how much this thing is worth.
00:57I had an opportunity to talk to our guy, David Kohler.
01:02David Kohler, of course, the founder and the president of SCP Auctions.
01:06They deal with the highest end sports memorabilia out there.
01:10A little bit earlier today, Mojo, I got on the phone with David and I asked him, how
01:14much is this ball worth?
01:16I knew it was going to be worth a lot, Mojo.
01:18I did not think this much.
01:20Well, the guy that caught it just got the golden ticket, that's for sure.
01:25Hopefully, he gives us a call because we've handled a lot of these milestone baseballs
01:29in our history, SCP Auctions.
01:32I believe this ball is $500,000 and up.
01:35I think it's actually overnight.
01:38My evaluation actually went up just thinking about how historic this is.
01:44One of the greatest individual performance in Major League Baseball history.
01:49Is there value in number 51 and 52, 53, and so on?
01:53I think there's some value in that.
01:55Each of these home runs that he hits, as he gets more steals, all of those things will
01:59factor into.
02:00Obviously, the 50-50 ball, that is historic.
02:04That's a moment, that's a milestone that's never happened that people are going to pay
02:08attention to.
02:09That ball is going to be worth more.
02:11Now, maybe the last ball, if he could get, I don't know, do they have nine more games,
02:15I think, in the regular season, the Dodgers?
02:18If he could get to 60-60, that would be, now we're going to go to a whole different
02:23level.
02:24Mojo, as David and I continue to talk, and people, if you're interested, check out the
02:29full interview on the TMZ Sports website, but he said, I think 500,000 is probably the
02:34low point, the low watermark, he could actually see the 50th home run ball selling in excess
02:40of a million dollars.
02:42Not too bad.
02:43You've got to wonder if that guy, Mojo, who was just a hair shy of snagging that thing,
02:48oh boy, he's got to feel bad today.
02:50I'm going to talk about that guy in a second, Babcock.
02:53I'll be brief on this other part here.
02:55I mean, yeah, it's kind of hard.
02:58This ball is going to be worth a lot of money, obviously.
03:00The things that he's doing on the field are just unbelievable.
03:03Based off of what he just did, with nine games left, who knows how many home runs this guy
03:09is going to have by the end of nine games.
03:12I mean, 60 almost seems like a lot, based off of how he's been playing recently.
03:17So yeah, I mean, that's got to probably diminish the value of the 50.
03:21If I'm the guy that got the 50th ball, I'm probably trying to dump that thing ASAP, because
03:27the second he hits 60, this 50 balls price is absolutely going to plummet.
03:32So all I know is I just hope it's not this guy.
03:36If this guy wasn't willing to lay out and put his body on the line for that ball with
03:43it being worth that much money, this man doesn't deserve it one bit.
03:49Take it away from him.
03:51Someone should just knock him out of the arena and make sure they take it from him in case
03:55he was able to rebound and get it, which I don't think he was.
03:58But you got to be better than that, man.
04:00If you're going to buy a seat in that location, you got to be familiar with your surroundings.
04:06You got to know the stakes are at the line, and if that is the effort that you're willing
04:11to bring to the table, you don't deserve it, sir.
04:15Get out.
