00:00It's been a busy week tracking severe weather across the Midwest.
00:03Myself and AccuWeather's Allie Reed have been tracking storms most of the week from Minnesota
00:07all the way down to Missouri and that concluded on Thursday.
00:11Friday I dropped her off at Kansas City International Airport where she flew back to the east coast
00:15to head home and I was planning on doing the same but as it typically is the case as we
00:20get into June, severe weather setups don't always show themselves until a day or two
00:24before the actual event and as I was heading out of Kansas City I kind of got a little
00:28bit of a notice on a little bit of a sneaker setup here today and that is what we're playing
00:33here starting off in Lincoln, Nebraska, one of a couple areas that could be at risk for
00:37a localized severe weather event.
00:40That could include the potential for a few tornadoes.
00:42We could be looking at some large hail and damaging winds as well.
00:46Cities like Lincoln, Omaha, you are going to be in the crosshairs for some of that severe
00:50weather.
00:51Again, not expecting widespread severe weather today but again that potential is there.
00:55One of these localized small type events that certainly need to be watched especially
00:59as we're out on the weekend.
01:00A lot of people out really expecting some nice but warm weather across the region so
01:05if you are heading out and about this weekend certainly make sure you've got that AccuWeather
01:08app handy and if you're in a place with no cell phone service consider having a weather
01:12radio that can get some of those warnings to you in case you are affected by severe
01:16weather today.
01:17I'm going to be tracking those potential for storms throughout the evening as we go into
01:22the week.
01:23We are expecting that severe weather threat to continue across the northern plains.
01:25It's going to be a stormy week for some and a hot week for others.
