00:00So Kate Middleton has resurfaced in public.
00:03We broke a story early today.
00:05It is about to resurface in public.
00:07But she has resurfaced in terms of telling the world
00:11how she has done.
00:12This is a photo of Kate.
00:14At the Palace released Friday morning.
00:17They were quick to note that it was a photo taken in 2024.
00:21They don't want anybody, any of that old photo stuff.
00:24They don't want to go backwards here.
00:25But they issued a statement.
00:28And this is what we had heard.
00:30That she is making good progress.
00:32And that's what everybody wanted to know.
00:33You should know that in England,
00:36there has been a whole thing.
00:37People are saying, where is Kate Middleton?
00:39Because she's only been seen once
00:41since she started her cancer treatment.
00:43And people have been wondering and worrying.
00:45Well, she is now,
00:46she has now put the mystery to bed
00:50and talked about her reemergence into public.
00:52Right.
00:53So the part of the statement that she released,
00:56Kate said,
01:17So she's being,
01:18I gotta say,
01:19Cautiously optimistic.
01:19Well, but not just cautiously,
01:20she's being so honest about it.
01:22I mean, to be able,
01:23look, a lot of people try to spin this stuff
01:25and say, oh, everything's great.
01:26She's saying good days, bad days,
01:27not out of the woods.
01:28She's still undergoing treatment.
01:31But she is saying she's making progress.
01:34And going to a Trooping of the Colors,
01:35which is what she's talking about,
01:37is a big deal because it's a very important event
01:40for the royals.
01:41By the way, I went to that once.
01:42Really?
01:43It's really pretty awesome.
01:44I'm pretty sure you were not on the balcony.
01:45No, I was not on the balcony.
01:47That's right.
01:48So to Harvey's point, big deal.
01:49It's like the annual celebration of the anniversary
01:53of when the monarchy first started.
01:55So it's kind of seen as the king's royal birthday,
01:58if you will,
01:59even though King Charles has his own real birthday.
02:01This is the date that they celebrate
02:03the monarchy starting every year.
02:05And Kate has been part of these celebrations
02:07for several, several years now.
02:09So it's sort of tradition that she goes.
02:11I have a little bit of a theory on this.
02:13I almost feel like the tradition element here
02:16is such a big deal and so important
02:19that the royal family might've been checking in with Kate,
02:22saying, can you make this, can you make this event?
02:24Can you maybe show a face for this?
02:26And I'm not, maybe, and I'm sure she is doing well,
02:28like she says she is,
02:29but I feel like there might've been some behind the scenes,
02:32maybe not, maybe pressure's too strong of a word,
02:34but some behind the scenes nudging
02:35to see if they could get her out for this,
02:37because it really is a big deal.
02:38And we know that they like to suffer quietly.
02:40That's just kind of their thing.
02:41I almost wonder,
02:43I almost kind of wonder if that's a factor here.
02:44The other thing I was going to say,
02:45that it's discouraging to hear
02:47that there's a second wave of speculation.
02:49Where is Kate?
02:50We know where she is.
02:52She's dealing with chemotherapy.
02:52It's insane to me that people are even wondering,
02:54where is she?
02:55She's dealing with chemotherapy privately.
02:57Why do we need to see her out in public
02:59as she's dealing with chemotherapy?
03:00Just leave her be.
03:01It's annoying.
03:02If I may speak for the royal subjects,
03:03I think it was more out of concern.
03:06Yeah, it's not a demand, we want to see you,
03:08it's we're worried about how you're doing.
03:11That's right.
03:12They wanted to know how she's doing.
03:13But it's true.
03:14I mean, what Fabian said is really true,
03:15that this stripping of the coat, it's a big deal.
03:19And it probably was a goal that was set for her,
03:24and the palace as well, but Kate would know.
03:27And what we don't know though,
03:28is this going to be a one-off for a while?
03:31Or is she going to really start emerging?
03:33Or is this just that one thing she wants to attend?
03:35I think intentionally she kept it a little vague
03:38as to what she's going to be able to do this summer.
03:40Because as she says, there are good days and bad days.
03:42So she doesn't know how she's going to feel.
03:45But it sounds like she at least wants to,
03:47if she's up to it, go to some of these public events.
03:49Not that this is related in any way,
03:51but you know who probably won't be
03:52at the Trooping of Color this weekend?
03:54He definitely won't be.
03:55Take a guess.
03:56Harry and Meghan will probably not be there.
03:59They were not invited.
04:00They were not invited.
04:01There you go.
04:01If you're not invited, don't show up.
04:03Hey, I'm Jen McCarthy, a presenter from London.
04:05And the mood here in the UK
04:06when Kate announced her diagnosis was just indescribable.
04:10And we are really in need of something to lift the spirit.
04:13So the news that she's making progress
04:15and is set to return to the public
04:18is absolutely incredible.
04:19And it's just what us Brits needed.
04:20Yeah.
04:21Excellent.
04:22And sorry I spoke for you earlier.
04:24I didn't realize we were going to have an actual
04:25Royal Convection calling in.
04:26I didn't know either.
04:27If I would have held my words.
