00:00My name is Natasha Frangos and I'm the Managing Partner of Hayes McIntyre.
00:07Hayes McIntyre is an award-winning firm of chartered accountants
00:11and tax advisors. We're top 20 in London, 550 people and we advise and support
00:19our clients across a range of services as they grow and scale.
00:22I became a partner at Hayes McIntyre in 2009 at the age of 30 which was the youngest at the time
00:33and I'm also the first female Managing Partner of the firm and I was elected into that role
00:39two years ago. At the time that I was promoted into that partner role I was really just one of
00:48a handful of women who were at the partner level at that time and we weren't the, it was me and
00:59one other girl that were promoted at that time on the 1st of April 2009 and we weren't like the
01:05obvious choice if you like on paper so there were lots of other white men who were our peers
01:13who may on paper have been the more obvious and easier decision to promote into that partner role
01:19but I was very grateful for the fact that the partners saw us as individuals and what we
01:26could contribute to the growth and success of the firm and so we were promoted basically on merit
01:31which was great. It was still a relatively new concept for the firm to have female partners who
01:38were in their 30s hadn't yet started their family so there was like a little cohort of us
01:43and we did take the partnership on a journey at the time so you know there wasn't anything in the
01:48deed for example in relation to maternity leave and so we got all of that going and whilst it
01:54wasn't the right solution it was a starting point and then since then we've evolved it into what is
01:59now an excellent really compelling modern offering for partners when they do go on maternity leave
02:06and also when they return offering lots of flexibility and part-time work which again at
02:11that leading partner level is a really I'm really proud of having implemented at the firm.
02:18We have set the target of being a hundred million pound business in the next three years
02:24which is an ambitious growth target but the way we are setting out to achieve that is by
02:30continuing the investment in our people so we've spent a lot of time thinking about the offering
02:35that we're giving to people they're coming to us not just to get a professional qualification
02:40but to become an trusted advisor and so how do we best enable them to develop that skill set.
02:49I was very privileged to work with partners who encouraged that next generation of talent so in
02:58particular Simon Wilkes, Ian Cliff are two partners who led the firm and really set the tone for
03:07actually promoting people when they were ready to do the job not just based on how many years
03:13of service they'd given and that has been a key success ingredient for us and something that I
03:21now strive to ensure we continue and protect as we continue to grow the firm so I'm really proud
03:29to have seen people that I've mentored from a really early stage in their career at the firm
03:34coming in at tradee level all the way through to partner level and now for example leading
03:39big sectors within the firm or various department services within the firm
03:44and it's been great to see those careers grow and prosper.
