00:00In September 2022, Chris Cabber was shot dead by a police marksman.
00:04A jury tried Martin Blake, the officer responsible who pulled the trigger,
00:09and found him not guilty of murder.
00:11And the Cabber family were left devastated by their loss
00:15of a 24-year-old man who was just about to become a father.
00:18It can now be reported that Chris Cabber was a core member
00:22of a violent South London gang.
00:24He had previous convictions for possession of weapons,
00:28for carrying a firearm and for violence.
00:31And he had been linked to two separate shootings
00:35in the days before he was shot dead by the Metropolitan Police Officer.
00:39Details of these shootings can now be revealed
00:42after a High Court judge lifted reporting restrictions.
00:45Cabber was at the centre of a shooting at the Oval Space nightclub in Hackney
00:50and the intended victim, a gang rival, was shot in one of his legs.
00:54As the victim fled into the street,
00:56a man suspected to be Cabber followed, armed with a firearm and fired again.
01:02Chris Cabber would have been put on trial for this shooting,
01:05but he died before the case could come to court.
