00:00As we begin with last night's game between Boston and Dallas, with again Boston going
00:09to Dallas and pulling off the upset, although a mild one.
00:13The Mavericks two and a half point favorites going into the game and Boston took a huge
00:18lead early.
00:19Dallas came back, made it a game, but in the end, the final 106 to 99 as the Celtics are
00:25now one game away from the NBA championship.
00:30Now it was a game with a lot of swings in the second half of the game, but really one
00:33of the pivotal moments in it was in the fourth quarter, Dallas trailing by 20, coming back
00:39and then Luka fouling out of the game, Luka Doncic with six fouls and less than five minutes
00:46to play and enduring a ton of national criticism last night and this morning for playing poorly
00:53on defense, for getting himself tossed from this game because of fouling and so naturally
00:59they're up against it and on the verge of being swept in the NBA finals.
01:03Jason Tatum last night at 31 points, six rebounds and five assists, Jalen Brown matched him
01:09with 30 points, eight assists and eight rebounds and Derek White had 16, five and four in this
01:15game.
01:16Kyrie Irving had 35, Luka 27, PJ Washington had 13 for the Mavericks.
01:22But needless to say, Jalen Brown, who went from a six to one dog to being the favorite
01:27to win the finals MVP, says it's good to be up three zip, but he knows there's still at
01:33least one more to play.
01:34I thought it was a great team win.
01:38That league dwindled fast, I know we were up 20 and then they stormed back and that's
01:44what the beauty of basketball is, you can never let up, it's always time and they were
01:50able to cut the lead, but in those moments, those are the moments which you have to just
01:55live for.
01:56We've been in those moments a lot.
01:59We just needed to be patient, be poised, I feel like we got some good looks.
02:03The defensive intensity ramped up, officiating, you know, got a little bit tighter.
02:09So at the end of the day, you just got to make plays.
02:11I thought we got some good looks down the line in the fourth.
02:15Some went in, some didn't, but we was able to make plays and find a way to win and we
02:19have been in those positions and we've lost.
02:23So it was great to overcome that with my brother Jason and the rest of our team, that was special.
02:30It's awesome.
02:31I mean, I can't, I don't even really have words, it kind of doesn't even feel real right
02:35now and I'm just trying to stand the moment, like, you know, it feels great to be up 3-0
02:41in this series, but like the job's not done.
02:44Not done and again, another game coming up with the Mavericks and Celtics, no doubt without
02:48Chris Tapp's Porzingis, it would appear, but for the time being, the Mavericks are
02:53very slight favorites going into game four.
02:56Needless to say, one of the key moments of the game was Luka Doncic being tossed and
03:00maybe that's a little bit extreme.
03:02Luka Doncic was sent home.
03:05Essentially, that's what happened.
03:06When you get six fouls in an NBA game, you can't play anymore and that is rare for a
03:10superstar athlete.
03:11Needless to say, his running mate, Kyrie Irving, said he certainly saw what happened.
03:16Questionable foul, I guess, to say the least, but said that Luka's doing the best he can.
03:21I mean, I don't think I really had a choice, you know, it was unfortunate that the foul
03:26was called, you know, Luka picked up his fifth and sixth and I think in a matter of a three
03:30minute span or a two minute span, so it's tough, but we still had to figure out a way
03:35to win the basketball game.
03:37We put our best foot forward, especially being down 21, you know, we easily could have packed
03:42up and folded, but we didn't give up, we kept playing and the guys that were out there,
03:46we kept competing and felt like we gave ourselves a chance to win down the stretch.
03:50They obviously made some big plays, some big shots, so you got to give them credit, but
03:55we got to play the way we played, you know, being down 21 the whole entire game, playing
03:59with that pace, playing with that pride, you know, that's what's got us here today, but
04:05when you're going against a good juggernaut, offensive team, like Boston Celtics, they're
04:08going to make you pay for mistakes and you got to give them credit.
04:11You just got to let it breathe a little bit, let the human emotions come out and, you know,
04:16just give them a hug, that's it, man, you know, it's easy to point the finger at just
04:22him and say, you know, you could be better, and that's easy to say, I think he knows that,
04:26but yeah, it's just reiterating that I got his back and we all have his back and, you
04:30know, it's a tough game and it was a tough call.
04:34We could have probably, you know, done a little bit some different on this fifth foul, just
04:38to give us a little bit more of a grace period to set our defense and get them on a matchup,
04:43but you know, hindsight's 20-20, but we just got to wash our hands with this and get ready
04:47for game four.
04:48Yeah, at least one more game to go and no doubt that Luka is going to be looking back
04:53at the season ends and be seething at the fact that he picked up his sixth foul after
04:57Kyrie said he picked up his fifth just after, in fact, he was in disbelief, sort of yelling
05:01at the bench, yelling at the ref, they did challenge the play in terms of him being,
05:07you know, taken out because of the foul, but it did not work and inevitably that was the
05:11end of Luka in that game.
05:13All right, now Chris taps Porzingis, he also missed game three due to a rare injury in
05:18his left leg.
05:19So naturally Porzingis' status very much in doubt and as Dr. Chow said on the show, unlikely
05:24to play and why would they play him going into a game four situation?
05:27JJ Redick is interviewing for the Lakers coaching job this weekend.
05:31This now finally becomes official, whether or not he gets it still to be determined.
05:35He's worked for ESPN and an NBA analyst for 15 years and also had a 90 minute visit with
05:42the Lakers thus far.
05:43So that gives him somewhat of an advantage.
05:45James Borrego is the other name that's been tossed about in the WNBA, the Connecticut
05:49Sun.
05:50They went again, 83 to 75, they're now 11 and one on the season and the best team in
05:54the WNBA.
05:55Okay, well, the Orioles thought maybe they'd be the best team in the AL East, but the Yankees
05:59have just been too good, but the Orioles just keep winning six games in a row.
06:03They win four to two over the Atlanta Braves.
06:05Braves have just been struggling on offense.
06:08Even their president of baseball operations, Alex Anthopolis, acknowledged it yesterday
06:12saying that, hey, if you look at a lot of the teams in the front offices in the NL,
06:16they'd be saying the same thing.
06:18Didn't even realize this.
06:19Think about this.
06:20The Brewers, the Dodgers, the Phillies, those teams are really good and the rest of the
06:23NL is mediocre.
06:24Corey Seager returned to Los Angeles where it all began and hits a home run.
06:28The Rangers defeat the Dodgers three to two.
06:30It was his 60th at the Dodger Stadium, which is the sixth most among active players, 422
06:37foot shot off Walker Bueller, 111 miles an hour off the bat.
06:41How about Jackson Merrill?
06:42He's been one of the hottest players in baseball, hitting 370 over the last week.
06:45He's had a fantastic June.
06:47He had another walk off home run and the Padres got their first sweep of the season.
06:52Does it count?
06:53It's against Oakland.
06:54I'm kidding.
06:55Oakland's been better this year, so I think it's fair to say it does count and so does
06:58Jackson Merrill.
06:59He's not going to win Rookie of the Year because of a guy named Paul Skeens or a guy named
07:02Shota Imanaga, but Merrill's right there.
07:04He's had a really nice season.
07:05All right.
07:06The U.S. Open is underway.
07:08Let's take a quick look at the leaderboard.
07:10Tiger Woods, by the way, had a pretty good start this week, but it remains to be seen
07:15how he'll do or if we even make the cut.
07:18Right now, Ludwig Oberg is three under par.
07:20He leads the field.
07:21Brooks Koepka, three under par.
07:23Matthew Pavon, three under par.
07:25Russell Henley is two under.
07:27Patrick Cantlay, two under.
07:29And Tony Finau is also two under par at the U.S. Open.
07:34All right.
07:36From ruling in the NFL, the Eagles not penalized for tampering in the offseason.
07:42That's good news for them, but the bad news is there's been a tampering violation for
07:46the Atlanta Falcons.
07:47A 2025 fifth-round pick has been taken away from them.
07:52They violated this in the anti-tampering policy with Kirk Cousins, Darnell Moody, and Charlie
07:58Warner.
07:59Atlanta was fined $250,000.
08:00The Edmonton Oilers will take on the Florida Panthers tonight.
08:04They've got to win to stay in the series.
08:06They're down 0-2.
08:07They're minus 140 on the money line.
08:08Joe Maddon will give us a preview of the game coming up in just a few minutes.
08:12Also, Lionel Messi said Inter-Miami will be his final stop on the pitch.
08:17He will retire with Inter-Miami.
08:19Tom Brady was inducted to the Patriots Hall of Fame.
08:22Kevin O'Connell, the head coach of the Vikings, says Sam Darnell will open up minicamp as
08:28their starting quarterback.
