Sheffield Docfest 2024 not only brings world class documentary makers to the Steel City, but, as it turns out, lots and lots of Londoners and visitors from other cities. The Star took the opportunity to ask these folk from the capital what they made of Sheffield city centre in light of all its recent development.

00:09have of the city centre. We've had a lot of construction recently, there's a lot of
00:12hoardings that have just come down. How have you felt about city centre since you've
00:16visited? I think the first and the most important thing is we are missing the hustle and it's a great miss because London people are always running, the hustle is there and here the city centre is very peaceful and like the
00:28theme of the festival which is reflections. I think you get a lot of time to reflect on yourself, to reflect about the films that you see. I think it's a great city and the city centre is a beautiful place to be in.
00:48So you're both visiting Sheffield, I'm aware. What do you think about the town centre?
00:54I think it's really pretty and everything is so close within a 15 minute walk. I think it's really chill, I love it. There's lots to look at. It's a mix of old and new. It's cute, it's nice to walk around.
01:07So much to sit down, which is nice. There's lots in Dublin, there's not really many places to sit down. And the Botanical Gardens, we walked past that, it's amazing.
01:18So what's brought you to Sheffield?
01:22We're here for DocFest, so every year there's a documentary festival. It's my first year, it's my first time here. We only met yesterday.
01:31It's my second time, I was a volunteer first time about 10 years ago. I came here as a volunteer and photographer as an excuse to talk to people and I loved it. So I knew I'd always come back.
01:41We just watched Teaches for Futures, which was amazing. Highly recommend it. Gives us lots of inspiration for our own ideas.
