Holy Trinity Anglican Church welcomes CCTV grant to stop item dumping and enhance security in Wentworth Falls.
Transcript
00:00Yeah, we're just very pleased that we've won this grant from Multicultural NSW to upgrade
00:10the security of the church site with CCTV cameras.
00:13Yeah, so there's a couple of instances that really sparked this to upgrade the security.
00:18We had a break-in earlier this year which was, they didn't get away with anything but
00:22yeah it still cost money for us to repair things.
00:25One incident a couple of years ago where a suspicious person talked to a student and
00:29they felt very unsafe and they walked back past our site, back down to school to find
00:33some safety.
00:34And if we'd had a security camera pointed at our charity bins which we're hoping to
00:38do with this grant then we would have been able to help the police with their enquiries.
00:46And hopefully as well it will discourage people from dumping all their belongings at our charity
00:50bin.
00:51And I would say that the op shop here is the best op shop in the entire Blue Mountains.
00:55The prices are ridiculously low.
00:57I'm trying to get them to raise their prices slightly but that's a debate.
01:02So yeah, come while the prices are still very low and every Friday morning during school
01:07term.
01:08And we've seen the numbers of people increase who come and receive those cheaper groceries
01:13and the fresh food that local businesses are donating.
01:16So it's great that we can actually help.
01:19So it'd be good if more people knew about that every second Friday at Community Hub.
