00:00On July 20, 2025, Phase 1 and 2 of the new Senate Building in Taguig are expected to be completed.

00:07The house is built exclusively for the Jimmy Integrated News.

00:18Four towers with 11 floors each are built on an area of more than 18,000 square meters

00:26with an area of more than 40 basketball courts.

00:29The newly built Senate House in Navy Village, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig is almost complete.

00:35We are now here at the North Tower.

00:38This will serve as a helipad for the Senators.

00:41This new Senate House is already functional.

00:45We can see the West Tower on the other side of the house.

00:49And on this side, that is the South Tower.

00:52And here on the other side, that is the East Tower.

00:56From the air, we can see the Garden Deck where the four towers will meet.

01:02This floor interconnects all the towers.

01:07We can see the 9th to 11th floors of the towers where the Senators will office.

01:15In the middle of the Garden Deck, there are tempered glasses that will serve as skylights.

01:21Under this will be the Senate Plenary.

01:24It will be on the 3rd to 7th floor under the Garden Deck.

01:27We can also see the possible offices of the Senators that are not yet partitioned.

01:33We can also see the possible offices of the employees.

01:37The auditorium on the ground floor is being repaired.

01:40The parking space for the 1,200 vehicles is on the 3rd floor basement.

01:47For more than two decades, the Senate has been pushing for a plan to have its own house.

01:53According to the Committee Report of 2017,

01:55the expensive land will be allocated to its current office in the GSIS Building in Pasay.

02:01According to the audit report of COA in 2020,

02:04they will receive more than P170 million each year if they will include their land for parking in the SSS.

02:13In 2019, the contract was awarded to Hillmarks Construction Corporation.

02:18It was supposed to end in 2022, but construction was suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

02:24But it seems that it will take a long time before the Senate will be able to move house.

02:28Moreover, Senate President Cheese Escudero reviewed the accumulated expenses

02:33from the original amount of almost P9 billion to P23 billion.

02:39We received a letter coming from Senator Cayetano.

02:44He told us to stop our work because they are in control.

02:56As of now, according to DPWH, 77% is done.

03:01The house of the new Senate building or Phase 1 is worth more than P8 billion.

03:07It includes glass windows, several elevators, and more.

03:10Phase 2 includes tiles, ceiling works, and other elevators,

03:16generator sets, fire protection, and escalators.

03:19It is 18% completed and is worth more than P2 billion.

03:24Phase 3 is worth P5.7 billion.

03:30It includes lights, fittings for bathrooms, partitions, cooling system, and other facilities.

03:37But it has not been decided yet.

03:40Phase 1, 2, and 3 are worth more than P16 billion.

03:44Phase 4 may be considered for the security of the Senators.

03:50What I can say now is the completion of Phase 1 and Phase 2 which will be on July 2025.

03:59We will just wait until then because we don't know what will be done in Phase 3.
