00:00So as we look at this Tuesday's slate in MLB, it's time now once again for Daily Bases.
00:09Whoa!
00:14Wow.
00:19That was huge right there.
00:24No, I liked it.
00:25It's a new day.
00:26That caught me off guard right there.
00:28I was like, all right, is that it?
00:29Is that the end of it?
00:30No, you didn't know?
00:31They told me yesterday it was going to be a new graphic.
00:34They're going to play, you know, they're going to charge.
00:39You took all the budget right for it.
00:41Yeah.
00:44That looked good.
00:45So the Daily Bases, it's a play on words, right, because we go around on the daily bases of Major League Baseball,
00:52but bases, first, second, third, and home, of course, that you need to hit.
00:57So we'll talk about some of the big storylines around this Tuesday card.
01:01It's Skeens Day number six.
01:04Tonight, for the first time, under the arch as Paul Skeens gets the start for the Pirates against the St. Louis Cardinals.
01:12Pittsburgh booked as a minus-134 road money line favorite.
01:17He has been great so far.
01:19Craig Misch, that being Paul Skeens, a perfect 3-0 record to start his Major League Baseball career.
01:25What can we expect from Skeens today in St. Louis?
01:28Well, I mean, if the last graphic is any indication, the Cardinals, the head of the Cardinals may get cut off completely.
01:34So, I mean, that could be a really bad sign for the Cardinals today.
01:38Skeens has been mowing down everyone.
01:40I think we talked about this last week on the show as far as his K props and everything else.
01:45He's just basically gone over all of them and has been fantastic.
01:49So the question is, when does it end?
01:51I don't think it does today against St. Louis.
01:53Now, whether or not they win the game still remains to be seen.
01:56You know, I'm a little disappointed that the Pirates got off to another good start this year and then have sort of faded a little bit.
02:02The Cardinals are right back in the mix.
02:04And you can see as the odds are about minus-110 on either side.
02:07But as far as Skeens' props are concerned, still do like the over on all of them until he's proven us otherwise.
02:13Yeah, favorite on the road today.
02:15Shows a lot of respect.
02:16We'll see what he has to offer.
02:17But also another great series tonight starting at 6.35 p.m. Eastern.
02:21That's going to be Atlanta Braves and the Baltimore Orioles.
02:23Freed has been sensational here, much like a lot of these pitchers for the Atlanta Braves on the season.
02:27A minus-136 favorite here at the Fandula Sportsbook over Baltimore.
02:31Now, two things come up here.
02:33Baltimore is really good.
02:34They're going to battle the Yankees throughout the summer.
02:36But the Braves now, Craig, sitting nine games back of the Philadelphia Phillies.
02:40Is there any chance that they can still catch the Phillies?
02:42And what's the approach for the Braves for the remaining parts of this season?
02:45Yeah, you don't rule anything like that out, Donny, because, again, it's baseball.
02:48It's 162 games.
02:50And, you know, look, the Astros, to me at this point, I'm ready to close the book on them.
02:55After last night, another emotional loss for them.
02:58And the Braves, you know, as far as closing the book on them for the season, I wouldn't do it.
03:01As far as the division goes, it's going to be very difficult.
03:04The thing that's surprising, I think, when I look at the Braves is the fact that their offense has been so poor.
03:09I know Acuna's been out.
03:10Who cares?
03:11A couple of years ago they did it without Acuna, too.
03:13So I would imagine at some point Olsen will get hot.
03:16Sean Murphy is back.
03:17He'll get hot.
03:18Michael Harris, et cetera.
03:19But for the time being right now, I think the play for all Braves games are the team total unders.
03:24It doesn't matter where they're playing.
03:25They're just not scoring runs.
03:26So why wouldn't you let the trend be your friend at this point?
03:29I think you look at Atlanta's offense until noted otherwise.
03:32The other thing, guys, is that you would have to imagine that if Ozuna's going to be the only one that's formidable in that lineup this season,
03:38they're going to start walking him.
03:39I know it's crazy to think that Marcel Ozuna would be an intentional walk candidate over the course of the year,
03:43but that's kind of where the Braves have been at.
03:46They're just not scoring enough.
03:48The Braves, one of three teams in Major League Baseball, to have an underpercentage of 60 percent of their games
03:54or more alongside the Rangers and the Astros.
03:58Craig, as we look at the matchup today in Kaufman between the New York Yankees and the Kansas City Royals,
04:04I think many people would expect us to say the Yanks are one of the better teams in the American League,
04:09but the Royals right there as well.
04:10One win away from reaching that 40-win benchmark.
04:14What will we see today in KC?
04:16Yeah, I think at this point, I mean, are you even getting any value on Judge Homers anymore?
04:23Like, I guess I got to check this more often every day.
04:25Like, I mean, how much plus is it at this point?
04:28The good news for the Yankees, of course, is Soto is back in the lineup.
04:31But naturally, right now, the Yankees are just not a fatable team.
04:35At some point, they will be.
04:36Just like in years past, they'll go cold.
04:38They won't score runs.
04:39But for right now, as you see, the total 9 1⁄2, not the greatest pitching matchup on the Hill today for either team.
04:45So I do think some runs will be scored today.
04:48And, you know, three times a week, Judge is homering.
04:50So that's plus money pretty much every day.
04:56Come on, B.
04:57Right on that wire.
05:00Come on, right on that wire.
05:01Come on, it didn't say one minute yet.
05:03We got to get to that fourth game to hit all of those bases on the daily basis.
05:08We go to Phoenix.
05:09The Diamondbacks, a home-honey line favorite at minus 180 against the Angels.
05:15Jordan Montgomery gets the start in Arizona for Arizona.
05:19Craig, what do we see today in the desert?
05:21Yeah, not a great pitching matchup for the Angels.
05:24You know, the starting pitcher today has an ERA, I think, pushing seven.
05:28You know, look, Montgomery, I'm expecting Montgomery to get it going.
05:31Remember, he missed all of spring training.
05:34He may not be a good pitcher until later this month, later on in the season.
05:38But it's a minus 180 today.
05:40And as Ben knows, we've been fading the Angels, and that's going well all season.
05:44It has been going very, very well.
05:46The reigning NL pennant winners, the D-backs, four games below .500.
05:50Time to start turning it around.
05:52What a day it was on the daily basis.
05:54Craig, we'll see you on Newswire in a little bit.
05:56More TEL next.
05:57We'll be right back.
