00:00Each and every week around the National Football League if you're playing on
00:03Sunday in a full week, Wednesday is your first day back out on the practice field.
00:09It's often the first time throughout a week that we hear from players that we
00:12see them on the actual practice gridiron. Which leads to us having a ton of news
00:17and notes to recap and try to read between the tea leaves to get ready for
00:22a new week around the National Football League. Which let's start with the
00:26biggest tea leaf of all, that's in Green Bay. Jordan Love, injured late in the
00:31Sao Paolo Brazilian opener to the 2024 NFL season for Green Bay. We thought at
00:37the time DRS, as he was hobbled, helped off the field in Sao Paolo, that maybe it
00:42could be the worst. After being paid this offseason, that maybe his year was done
00:47after only one game. Sprained MCL, not nearly as bad as some people imagined or
00:55feared. He was not going to be placed on the IR, but still set to miss a few weeks.
01:00Yesterday, Love back out on the practice field in Wisconsin. Yesterday, Jordan
01:06meeting with reporters and saying quote, he's hopeful he can start on Sunday in
01:11Tennessee against the Titans. If you watched our first segment, you know
01:15Commissioner of the National Football League injury report Donny Rightside
01:18says absolutely no chance. DRS, how you feeling about it after a commercial
01:23break? Yeah, no, there's no chance that he played. Let's let's understand that
01:27the concept here of injuring your knee as a franchise quarterback and making
01:31sure you're healthy enough to protect yourself in the pocket. And also Ben,
01:34let's understand they lost to the Philadelphia Eagles opening night.
01:37Malik Willis came in and played a steady hand in week number two and beat
01:41a decent Indianapolis Colts team, which you're one and one. You're not owing to
01:44and Malik Willis didn't go six for 24 with four interceptions. You said we're
01:49just going to lose games until you get back out there. Can you stand in the
01:52pocket like a statue will protect you? Can you just get out there and help us
01:56be a competent football team? You don't need that. So why would you rush your
01:59franchise quarterback back? And I understand that we don't have doctors
02:02in the room that have completely diagnosed this and or letting us know
02:06it's apparent that he is a quick healer. But when you're dealing with that type
02:09of injury, you can't risk it. Let's just say he's not 100% and plays this
02:13weekend against a very good Tennessee Titans defense and takes a low hit. And
02:17now he's down for the season, injures that knee more and it's an A. C. L.
02:20Wait till he's 100%. You won last week. You can win this week again without
02:25him. Give him an extra week to recover. I understand he wants to play. It's
02:29what professional athletes want to do. But understandably, he's not playing
02:33this Sunday. Absolutely not for me. Yeah, I don't think there's a chance
02:37the arrest that he actually starts or plays in Nashville. There will be the
02:41narrative in the storyline, of course, of Malik Willis making his second
02:45consecutive start for the pack back in Tennessee. The Titans drafted him in
02:50the third round of the 2022 NFL draft. Of course, he made his first three
02:55career starts prior to last week with the Titans did not throw a touchdown
02:59pass in any appearance with Tennessee to three interceptions, which made his
03:04start last week for the Packers all that much more impressive 12 or 14 for
03:09122 yards efficient, clean with the football, no turnovers and his first
03:14NFL career touchdown. Josh Jacobs ran it 32 times. The Packers and Malik
03:19Willis, who added 41 yards, ran it for 261 yards. Green Bay, who averaged
03:25DRS nearly eight yards per pop, albeit on the slippery turf of Sao Paulo
03:30against Philadelphia, is the best rushing team in the National Football
03:34League. They do not need Jordan Love. As of this moment, Tennessee's got a
03:38pretty good defense and a pretty good front seven. But the New York Jets did
03:41have some success on the ground against them on Sunday in Nashville. All to say
03:46with Green Bay catching 2.5 on the road, I still think I look to the Packers
03:51here, although you would expect some regression as things go in the second
03:55game for Malik Willis. Yes, and I agree. I actually agree with your
03:59sediments here, but I do think that the Tennessee Titans probably the better
04:02team for me just because their home. It's a field goal and yes, regression
04:05from Malik Willis, but you sort of hit the nail on the head. You can use that
04:07same game plan you had last week against the Indianapolis Colts and push
04:11it into this game and have a chance to win. That's all you can ask for. At
04:14this point, we're not expecting Malik Willis to be perfect, not turn the
04:16football over and have like, you know, a 90% completion rate. He is going to
04:20have my mild regression in this game. I do believe, but also at the same time,
04:24you're good football team. You can run the rock here. You can keep it close.
04:26This game is 17 to 14 written all over it. You don't need Jordan Love back
04:30just yet until he's 100% healthy. And it seems like he is on the mend. Just
04:34not for this week. The long term for Green Bay in a division right now in
04:39the NFC North. That's a little bit up in the air. The Lions one and one. The
04:43Packers one and one. The Bears one and one. The Vikings two. And oh, Justin
04:49Herbert got injured late in the game for the Chargers in a dominant
04:52performance, of course, on the road in Carolina. An ankle injury that has
04:56listed him as day to day, according to his head coach Jim Harbaugh, who had a
05:01lot of things to say yesterday, comparing himself to Moses leading on
05:05his staff, so on and so forth. This quote, though, in terms of Justin
05:09Herbert status for Sunday, quote, Crystal Ball expected to get better
05:13every day. I was in a meeting with him, said he was feeling much better and
05:16good today. Will Justin Herbert play on Sunday for the Bolts? Yeah, last year's
05:21Justin Herbert. We probably would need him to play like, Ah, maybe he's a
05:24little bit injured. He's got to throw for 300 yards. This version of Justin
05:27Herbert in that offense. Can you give us 150 yards passing based upon 19 to 21
05:33attempts? At this point, he can play this weekend. It's not a high ankle
05:36sprain. Certainly they're not leaning on him as much in the plane to
05:39Pittsburgh Steelers. This game also, Ben has 17 14 written all over a black and
05:44blue game. Nonetheless, I think we'll be out there, though. I do right now. The
05:48Chargers a slight underdog heading out to the Steel City minus 1 24 Pittsburgh
05:54plus one or two on the other side for the Chargers. A matchup of two
05:58undefeated two and oh teams. Total DRS. If it is 17 14 would stay under. It's
06:04the lowest total for the week to week three slate rather at 35 and a hook. 37
06:10and a half is that number for Packers Titans out in Nashville on Sunday
06:14afternoon. It does not matter if Justin Herbert playership Harbaugh could suit
06:19up in a Chargers uniform. Once again, they are going to run the football.
06:22Justin Herbert on Sunday against Carolina through the football only 20
06:26times the R. S. In week number one, he threw it less than 30 times. It is the
06:31first time it is National Football League career. This is year five for
06:35Herbert. He has had back to back games with less than 30 pass attempts. They
06:40are going to run the ball with Greg Roman as the O. C. In the offensive
06:44philosophy from the mind of Jim Harbaugh. Exactly. He brought over that
06:48mind. It's so funny, Ben. We talked about last year. The charges sort of a
06:51soft franchise. Now, all of a sudden, able to swing and throw haymakers on a
06:55day to day basis weekly on Sunday. I love to see it here. And these are two
06:59teams that don't want to throw the football, want to play good defense and
07:02play smash mouth football meeting up in Pittsburgh. Both of these teams to it.
07:05Oh, that's a good game to watch. It really is. Yeah, certainly. So we have
07:10more news around the National Football League, more injury news in Los Angeles,
07:14but with the other team, the Rams and what is Bryce Young's future in
07:17Carolina? We'll talk about it next. Donny right side. I'm not sure if you
07:20can see it in your rundown off to the right, but we do want to give our
07:23flowers to our producer extraordinaire Joe Friso, who made sure that he wanted
07:29to note this headline that you're going to see for the Cooper Cup injury is an
07:34elite headline. So, Joe, well done way to be quite witty cup half full. At
07:40least that means that there is some optimism and positive injury report.
07:44Cooper Cup is going to miss a few weeks for the Rams with a diagnosed high
07:48ankle sprain that he suffered on Sunday against Arizona. However, there is a
07:53hope in Los Angeles. He returns within a month, so no need for injured reserve.
07:59You just have two other starters, Jonah Jackson and Josh Johnson, the third
08:03being placed on I are Puka to Kua already on. I are and we have not seen
08:08a fully healthy Rams offensive line story game through the first two weeks
08:12this year. So good for Cooper Cup. Not great for the Rams in total. No, it's
08:17not. And this lets you know exactly what the Rams are thinking about their
08:21season. Now, if there was a chance, let's just say the Rams were to an own
08:24Cooper Cup got hurt. You would I are him and say, OK, we'll be able to, you
08:28know, steady the waters here. We'll be able to make it through will be 500.
08:31When you get back here, you'll be fully healthy. We'll make a run towards the
08:34playoffs. They're telling you now. Well, if we are you, you're out for a minimum
08:38amount of weeks here, and we might not even have a win by the time you get
08:41back. If we can save one week or two weeks here with your ankle injury and
08:46burn a spot here on our roster just waiting for you, it might be worth it
08:50because otherwise we don't think we're even going to be competitive and or be
08:53in playoff chances by week nine or week 10 at this point. So I understand what
08:58the Rams are doing, but this ship is sinking and taking water fast right now.
09:02And Cooper Cup coming back in four weeks, five weeks or six weeks. I really
09:05don't think it makes a difference. A rough start for the Rams who have been
09:09the underdog in their first two games, both on the road. They lose to Detroit
09:14in overtime. They get hammered by the Cardinals last week out in the desert
09:18home opener week three inside. So far, there's still an underdog, a large
09:24underdog getting seven points against the San Francisco 49ers. It is a rough
09:29start to the year for the Rams, reminiscent of 2022 when injuries were
09:33the story in L. A. Following a Lombardi trophy the year prior. The R. S. Now we
09:39go to Carolina. The Panthers have said they are not considering trading Bryce
09:43Young despite placing him on the bench at this moment. The 2023 number one
09:49overall pick was so much investment to get that first overall selection and
09:54all that was traded away for Bryce Young. Do you believe in Carolina when
10:00they tell us they are not interested in trading Bryce Young? Or as we discussed
10:04earlier, is it a market ploy to try to garner some interest, making him seem
10:09like he's untouchable? Yeah, I just I think it's you know, it's one thing to
10:13try to say from a Carolina perspective, we're not trading it because what
10:16you're trying to do is send the message to Bryce Young. Like, look, we
10:19understand you stink right now. You know you stink, but let's just say you're
10:22not going anywhere. Give you a little bit of confidence that you don't have
10:24to worry every 30 minutes that your agent is going to call. They're gonna
10:28be the third string quarterback in Cincinnati and have to change
10:31everything. You're trying to give him hope for the future and say, kid, it
10:34hasn't worked out yet. Let's sit you down. Don't worry. You'll take a deep
10:38breath. You'll get back in in a couple weeks, and we think you could be the
10:40player that we drafted number one overall. And also keep in mind, no
10:44other team out there is going to trade for first round draft pick in his
10:46second season. This isn't like 1977. It's like, Hey, it's a three year deal
10:50for five total million dollars. That's an expensive contract. And now in the
10:54NFL with first round draft picks, it's fully guaranteed. So no team is going
10:58to take that on for a look. See if they do cut him, Carolina. Yes, you would
11:02take him on because he clear waivers, and then you go to the next franchise
11:05on a veteran or just a rookie, whatever minimum salary that he would have. So
11:09it doesn't make any sense for them to move on because it's right. If you keep
11:12him on your roster for the next three years as a backup, it's gonna cost you
11:15the same band as cutting him this year. And there is a chance that he can
11:18resurrect his career and learn from being on the bench and be a decent
11:22quarterback. Absolutely. We saw that talent at Alabama, so it doesn't make
11:25any decision here easier for Carolina, except the money will be the same. If
11:30you cut him or move on from him, you might as well just keep him and hope
11:34that he can resurrect his career. 84 yards last week in the home debut in
11:39Charlotte this season against the Chargers, the 11th time in Young's last
11:4312 games he threw for less than 200. There is no doubt Drs. His confidence
11:48is in the toilet in the gutter right now. So maybe just sitting behind Andy
11:52Dalton for a few weeks brings his spirits up. We were not together on
11:57Tuesday when this news hit the pipeline. So I have not had the chance
12:01to ask you about Bryce Young's future in Carolina. Will he be there next
12:05year? Will he start another game for the Panthers? Might that next start
12:09come this season? Where do you fall? Here's those arguments. If Carolina
12:13finishes with the number one overall pick, you are taking another quarterback
12:18because you don't win in this league without a franchise. And if you draft a
12:21franchise quarterback again, why not just have him go one? The one with
12:25Bryce Young into the future of the next one to two years and find out who is
12:29the better quarterback. I don't buy it. Trade that number overall pick. We
12:32already have our guy. No, you don't. Quarterback number one overall next
12:35year. Thursday night football to kick off week number three of this 2024 NFL
12:41season. It's how we kick off our number two live right here on this Thursday
12:46morning on the early line on sports grid. He is Donnie. I am Ben. So Drs.
12:51Let's continue to dive through this matchup to start off this second hour
12:54around the National Football League. It kicks off week number three. It's a
12:59divisional duel. The Jets and the Patriots for New York's home opener out
13:03in East Rutherford, New Jersey inside MetLife Stadium. The Jets are nearly a
13:08touchdown favorite over the Patriots on this short week. 38.5 is the number. As
13:15we look at the New York Jets last week was just their 10th game as the
13:20favorite side with Robert Sala as their head coach since he took over the
13:24reins of gangrene back in 2021. They did cover. They are now six and four
13:29straight up 45 and one against the spread. The Patriots last year DRS when
13:35they want only four games in the 24th and final season under Bill Belichick
13:40were an underdog 12 times. They were 47 in one against the spread. Not good.
13:45Even keeping games close when they were not expected to win said football game
13:50this year though, 101 against the spread, the outright victory, the largest
13:56upset of week number one with the largest spread of the opening Sunday
14:00slate of the season in Cincinnati. And last week they closed as only a three
14:05point home underdog against the Seahawks games. Game goes to overtime.
14:09Seattle wins 23 to 20. But earlier in the week that line was 4.5 in favor of
14:14Seattle, even 3.5 by the time we reach the weekend in favor of the Seahawks. So
14:19the Patriots moving markets and keeping games a lot closer than we anticipated
14:24entering this season. Yeah, the M. O. Of this football team is we're going to
14:28try to play some good defense here. We're gonna run the football. We're
14:30gonna limit the mistakes and we have Jacoby presented quarterback, which
14:32means we have a game manager, not actually a game winner. And that's okay
14:35because coming into the year we were laughing at the New England Patriots
14:38roster and I do have to get again, give that credit to Gerard Mayo. He's playing
14:42with just the cards that he's dealt right now and he's playing very well
14:45with those cards. Here's the issue coming into it. What do we know about
14:48the New England Patriots and what they want to do in this football game in
14:50this season? They want to hand the football to remind Ray Stevenson.
14:53That's a recipe for success. But in order to do that, Ben, you have to have
14:56a very good offensive line and more importantly, a healthy offensive line.
14:59They don't have that coming into tonight. Multiple guys banged up, not
15:03starting there. And the guys that are playing are banged up just to start the
15:06football game in itself. Because you will see the first two weeks San
15:10Francisco ran absolutely wild on that Jets front here, which is surprising to
15:13me. And week number two, the Titans still had a lot of success on the
15:16ground. So you're saying, Oh, this fits like a glove. The New England Patriots
15:19should run wild on the New York Jets. That should be a telltale sign that if
15:23your offensive line is banged up, maybe you don't have that much success. And
15:26also, if you go to the fan, little sports book and say to yourself, I know
15:29New England wants to run the football. Remind Ray Stevenson's gonna get the
15:32bulk of the carries. Look at his total tonight. 64.5. It's not 75.5. It's not
15:3781.5. At this point, it's 64.5. Almost baiting you in. But they should be able
15:42to run the football quantity wise. But how much yards are they actually going
15:47to get? And will the Jets be able to say? All right, this is one of those
15:50teams, Ben. I could put eight in the box routinely against your banged up
15:53offensive line, and you'll be just ramming your head against a brick wall
15:56all through the game just to see if you can bust a run or two at this point.
15:59That's the way I played out, because usually say no, no, you don't remind
16:02Ray Stevenson anytime touchdown market over his rushing prop. And maybe it
16:05does work, and maybe he gets, let's just say, 15 to 20 touches on the ground,
16:09maybe a touch or two in the passing game. That should be enough for the 64
16:12and a half. But I think it's priced appropriately. Just saying to yourself,
16:16you know what? That offensive line might not be right tonight, which means you
16:19might not get great blocking in DRS. That's one of the first areas I looked.
16:24It's one of my favorite prop bets. That was one of the few I hit on a
16:28difficult week to Sunday slate for me in terms of the fan to a sportsbook
16:32remand. Jay Stevenson over 16 and a half rushing attempts yet. 21 carries
16:37for 81 yards and a touchdown against the Seahawks. He had 25 carries for a
16:41buck 20 against Cincinnati. They have fed him the football. They're trying
16:45to take the onus off of Jacoby percent. Frankly, they're trying to shorten
16:49football games and make it as competitive as possible. It's why they
16:53are one on one against the spread this year. Total last week against Seattle
16:5839 and a half for New England. It went over in regulation with 40 combined
17:02points, but ever so slightly into your point DRS about the jets. They allowed
17:08130 last week against the Titans. Of course, Jordan Mason went off week
17:12number one that Monday night for a buck 47. San Francisco had about 180 as a
17:17team and for a jets defense that had all of the onus on them last year, right?
17:22The weight of the world on their shoulders to keep games competitive.
17:26They weren't great defending the run where they were pretty good everywhere
17:30else. Eight worst rushing defense in the NFL a season ago, allowing nearly
17:34125 yards per game. So could be an area that the Patriots could benefit. But
17:41the offensive line concerns for New England are very, very sound DRS. As we
17:46look at the quarterbacks, of course, on this thursday night, Jacoby percent not
17:50expected to do much 163 and a half Aaron Rodgers to 15 and a hook. He has
17:57been well under that number in each of the first two games this year, never
18:02more than 180. But you said this earlier, Gino Smith threw for 327
18:09yards against that pass passing defense a week ago. Is this the night we see
18:13the most passing production out of Aaron Rodgers so far in 2024? It seems like
18:19it should play out that way. But also again, we might not be getting that
18:22other side of the coin, which means that New England Patriots offense,
18:25that's going to keep the jets feet to the fire on offense. You might get one
18:28of those games that just within three or seven the whole game, let's not make
18:31the mistakes, play action passes, keep it short, move the chains. That's my
18:34only worry. But if you're saying, okay, Donny, let's just take it to the realm
18:37free bet here on Aaron Rodgers to 15 and a half home opener here to 15 and a
18:42half is not a big number for Aaron Rodgers. And I understand the start to
18:44the season hasn't shown like a thrown for 300 plus yards and multiple
18:48touchdowns every game to 15 is not a high number. You look at his touchdown
18:51property. It's also passing over 1.5. That's a plus money number at a plus
18:551 20. How many times in Aaron Rodgers career they have a 1.5 number at a plus
18:59money. It's usually always minus. And also just to let you know what we're
19:03thinking about the explosiveness of both of these offenses. You very rarely
19:06see this. Jacobi Brissett has that 1 63.5, which is hilarious. That's like
19:11Justin Fields territory last year with the Chicago Bears. But look at his
19:14touchdown prop to throw one of them is a minus 1 60. You might say, well,
19:18that's juicy. That's not juicy here. Usually to throw one touchdown, it's
19:22minus 2 80. It's minus 3 20. It's minus 400 because that's what quarterbacks
19:26are supposed to do in football games. But this year, nobody's strong for
19:29any touchdown passes. So for percent to throw one at a minus 1 60 price is
19:33just about hilarious on that level, which also shows you the type of
19:37offense they run and the wide receivers. They trust their running
19:40backs, not their wideouts here, and we'll see how that plays out. But for
19:42Aaron Rodgers, I expect a good night, but I don't know how good the night
19:46can actually be, because quite frankly, Hey, look, two touchdown passes a
19:49bucket in air. That might be enough to win and cover this football game
19:52against the New England Patriots. Yeah, it really might be. And again, it's a
19:56large spread. It's 6.5 in favor of the New York Jets. The total is not
20:01overly high, but the Jets did cover last week as a 3.5 point road
20:05favorite in Nashville. Aaron Rodgers only threw it 21 times in his season
20:09debut against San Francisco 30 attempts last week to touchdown passes each to
20:15a running back. We'll talk about Breeze Hall in just a moment and the rookie
20:18Braylon Allen, who had two scores last week for New York. You know who was New
20:23England's leading rusher last week? Antonio Gibson. D. R. S. We've got
20:26rushing plus receiving yards props, not just for Andre Stevenson and Breeze
20:30Hall, but both of the backup running backs as well on this Thursday night.
20:35If Aaron Rodgers hasn't eclipsed 180 yards this year, Jacoby Brissette has
20:39not gone over a buck 50 last week, 149 yards and a touchdown against Seattle
20:44109 of those 149 to his tight end Hunter Henry eight grabs on 12 targets.
20:52His prop tonight just 34 and a hook. Garrett Wilson stands out to me. If we
20:58think D. R. S. That the New York Jets are going to have success through the
21:02air tonight. Garrett Wilson, who has not gone over this number so far this year,
21:07this could be an area to look and is anytime touchdown profit plus 1 45. He
21:12hasn't scored yet this year either. If the aerial attack is good for the Jets
21:17tonight, led by Aaron Rodgers, that would be two areas that certainly have
21:21my eye. No, certainly does. And also Alan Lazard. A couple touchdown passes
21:24on the season here clearly knows Aaron Rodgers from his Green Bay days, and
21:28this number only sits at 28 and a half. But I agree. Sooner or later, Garrett
21:31Wilson is your number one wide receiver. Last week, he wasn't even getting to
21:34the 50 yard market. Brilliant pass late in the game. We made a nice catch of
21:3720 or 30 yards. Otherwise, he has like 30 yards for that game. Sooner than
21:41later, Garrett Wilson is gonna have to break out and he's gonna have to be in
21:43that red zone threat. You're running scoring touchdowns in the air event.
21:48We'll talk about the running backs quickly and a couple offensive rookie
21:51of the year odds updates that so Garrett Wilson, one offensive rookie of
21:56the year two years ago, and now Aaron Rodgers is his quarterback. His
22:00receiving yards prop 64 and a half, but he hasn't caught a touchdown this year.
22:04In fact, Aaron Rodgers in week number one in the season debut for the New
22:08York Jets did throw a touchdown to a wide out his former teammate in Green
22:12Bay, Alan Lazard, who had two touchdown grabs. One from Rodgers, one
22:17from Tyrod Taylor in week number one against San Francisco. Two touchdown
22:21tosses from Rodgers last week in Nashville DRS, both going to the
22:25running backs, Breece Hall and Braylon Allen. Braylon Allen, 20 years, 239 days
22:32old this past Sunday in Tennessee, the youngest player in NFL history to score
22:36two scrimmage touchdowns in a single game. And Breece Hall has been really
22:41good so far this season, as we expected him to be the cornerstone of this
22:45offense until Aaron Rodgers, the 40 year old quarterback, could dust off
22:50some of that rust. Hall 93 total yards in both games last week. DRS eight
22:57targets, seven receptions, 52 yards in the receiving category in a touchdown.
23:02Braylon Allen last week, 56 total yards to total touchdowns. You can see
23:06what Breece Hall is expected to do tonight with that 93 plus scrimmage
23:12yards, 62 and a half for his rushing yards, prop 31 and a half from the
23:17receiving yards component minus 1 80 to hit pater. How much of your focus is
23:22going to be on Breece Hall for this Thursday night football game? I look,
23:26I'm waiting for the spot to really take Breece Hall. And the reason I bring
23:29that up is like the first couple weeks, you've played a very good defense in
23:32San Francisco, another very good defense with Tennessee, and you're gonna get a
23:35quality defensive opponents in a slower game tempo against New England
23:39because I truly believe like once he gets to like a bottom 15 or bottom 20
23:43defense, Ben, we're looking at 18 carries a buck 35 and two scores out of
23:47Breece Hall. Maybe you get that tonight because I do think the running game is
23:50going to be there all four quarters because I don't think anybody's gonna
23:53run away with the game. And if they do, it's probably more from a Jets
23:56perspective as New England Patriots. So I do think it's viable at 62 and a
23:59half, but you have to take a look at last week. Kenneth Walker, the third
24:02didn't play in that game for Seattle Charbonnet. What did he have? 35 40 yards
24:06in that game. You take a look at week number one, the Cincinnati game. They
24:09didn't rush for too many yards in that game either. So it's not as if I'm
24:12saying I'm looking my chops to really get after Breece Hall in this game
24:15because I think he's gonna have a dominant night. But 62 and a half isn't
24:17a lot. If you're the starting running back for an NFL football team in a game
24:20that we think probably stays somewhere in the thirties and you have the lead,
24:24Breece Hall better be taken down 15 plus to 20 carries in that game, which
24:28means he should get 62 and a half. I'm not in love with it because again, I'm
24:31still trying to struggle. Now we're going to get a lot of points in this
24:34game and a lot. I don't even mean bed 55 just like 42 43 points here. 23 20 type
24:39final. You should be able to get that. So if I'm looking from the perspective
24:43and I know you brought it up already rushing and receiving because he is a
24:46pretty good catcher out of the back. And if you get that one or two screen
24:49passes, we're gonna have okay, two catches for 26 yards. That would really
24:53help out. And so that's the scenario that I probably would look at. I like
24:56results and I think you can get the 62 and a half. I'm just not in love with
25:00it. Yeah, D. R. S. You would think game script wise, right? 6.5 points spread
25:05in favor of the Jets expected to win this game comfortably, but not many
25:09points out there. If the Jets are in front and it's 17 to 6 midway through
25:14the third quarter, do they start to run the football even more? Is that even
25:17Breece Hall? Could we see some Braylon Allen 38 and a half is his rushing plus
25:23receiving yards prop on this Thursday night football game for the rookie out
25:27of Wisconsin. And just one final point, the Patriots second best rushing defense
25:32in the NFL so far this year, only allowing 58 yards per game, 70 on the
25:37road in Cincy, less than 50 last week at home against Seattle. So again, we
25:43talked about Garrett Wilson, your offensive rookie of the year. Now, two
25:47years ago in 2022 last year, it was a quarterback for the third time in the
25:52last six seasons. It was C. J. Stroud, who pretty much won the award by week
25:55six or week seven this year. D. R. S. We've seen three rookie quarterbacks
26:00make two each of the first two weeks. Nobody thrown a touchdown so far this
26:05season. J. J. McCarthy has many passing touchdowns as any of the three
26:09quarterbacks who have started same for Drake Bay and Michael Penix Jr. All
26:15goose eggs for the six quarterbacks taken in the opening round in 2024. Of
26:19course, most damning for Caleb Williams, for Jaden Daniels, who has
26:23been pretty good in other components and at least efficient with the
26:26football and Bo Nix, who does not have any passing touchdowns but does have
26:30four interceptions multiple in each game. I'll tell you what's interesting
26:34too, because this is not just a rookie pandemic right now. We're not throwing
26:38touchdown passes the lowest amount of touchdown passes through two weeks, I
26:42believe, since like 2006, which is incredible. And I always talk about in
26:46the early months is where you love the team totals over. You love the high
26:49flying offenses because everybody is healthy and the weather is nice. What's
26:54gonna take a look at them? We get to the end of October and November and
26:57December and some of these cold air cities. Is it just gonna be the running
27:00game? Is that like the new institution where running backs are getting paid
27:03now? Rightfully so, because that's the only guys that can actually score
27:05touchdowns at a high rate. We're waiting for that breakthrough. And again
27:08tonight, you're gonna watch a Thursday night football game with two
27:11quarterbacks that one is a Hall of Famer who were saying, like, maybe he can
27:14throw two touchdowns and Jacoby present his price to sound like don't
27:17even think about taking him as a touchdown prop. But those rookies, if
27:20we're being honest, right, Caleb Williams through two weeks, if you
27:23would have told me before the season started, here's this wide receiving
27:25core. Here's how talented he is. He hasn't got a touchdown pass yet. Jaden
27:29Daniels won the Heisman Trophy last year and was throwing it all over the
27:33lot for LSU. No touchdown passes just yet. Now may, of course, hasn't started
27:37Michael Penn exchange in McCarthy. We get it with the same like Bo Nix is
27:40throwing like 40 plus times a game and hasn't had a touchdown pass yet. It's
27:44incredible, man. Where has the offense gone been? It really is incredible. D.
27:50R. S. And again, when you look at the numbers this year for the rookie
27:53quarterbacks, it has been disappointing. The only good thing for Jaden Daniels,
27:58I will say outside of the two rushing scores, he's been efficient with the
28:02football. His completion percentage is third best in the NFL at 75 and a half.
28:07As you compare that to Bo Nix, he's under 60% and Kayla Williams. I don't
28:12even think. Yeah, he does 56.1%. It has not been good for the other rookie
28:17quarterbacks, which has led to changes in the offensive rookie of the year.
28:21Ah, Donny, it's often difficult for a quarterback to win this award because
28:25you need to put up C. J. Stroud like numbers. At least the expectation is
28:30lead your team to winning ways. Jaden Daniels has a win. Kayla Williams has a
28:35win. The Broncos are oh and two. But Daniels and Williams now co favorites
28:40alongside Marvin Harrison Jr. At plus 3 20. Of course, M. H. J. Exploded onto
28:46the scene in week two after a quiet career debut in week one. It should be
28:51that way because we're just expecting the young rookie quarterbacks to run
28:54away with this thing and say, Okay, well, maybe Marvin Harrison needs 1700
28:58yards and 15 touchdowns to compete. These quarterbacks have been so bad
29:01through the air to start. It's right that Marvin Harrison Jr. Is up there
29:04because at least he woke up in week number two for sure. And maybe you
29:08think, Okay, I've got a good place on the rookie quarterbacks based on what
29:12we've seen yet. Thursday night football to kick off week number three of this
29:17NFL season. And Mark Zinno goes back from the mouth in the south to the
29:21mouth in the north east. It's where he's from. He's from Long Island. He
29:25loves the New York Jets. He's ready to go for Thursday night. Football is
29:28gangrene plays host to the New England Patriots in a divisional duel. The
29:32Jets a six and a half point home favorite total 38 and a half for this
29:37short week. Thursday night football game. Rather large spread, nearly a
29:41touchdowns, you know, in favor of New York. Pretty minimal total at only 38
29:46and a hook. How do you see Thursday night football playing out? Well, let
29:50me just clarify. If the Giants weren't as bad as Florida is in college
29:54football, then I would, you know, tell everybody how much of a Giants fan I am.
29:57But I don't ever claim that Jets is my own. That said, okay, fair enough. I
30:01looked at this game in a couple of different ways. One, the under feels
30:04right. This is a two offenses that don't really score a ton. The Jets have
30:10yet to amass 300 yards in either of their first two games. The Patriots
30:13only got 300 yards against Seattle because the game went to overtime. So
30:17these are two offenses that have a lot of issues right now. The New England
30:20Patriots have a ton of issues on the offensive line. But again, you look at
30:24that first half total at 19 and a half. That's the way I'm gonna go. Um, the
30:29Jets have only scored seven points in each of the first half of their first
30:32two games. Uh, the Patriots scored 13 against the Bengals. That was a lot,
30:36mostly because of Bengals turnovers and missteps in the first half of that
30:40game. It was a little more fast paced against Seattle. Certainly I get that.
30:43But Seattle's run defense is really bad, and that's the one thing the
30:46Patriots have done really well to this point in time. So, uh, be given the
30:50Jets defense and their strength in the passing game. I think you'll see a lot
30:54of running up front despite the Patriots what was on the offensive line
30:58on the same thing for the Jets. I mean, we've seen them get better offensively
31:02as the game goes along. And as we start to see more games that the Jets play, I
31:05think their offense and Aaron Rodgers will start to get a little bit more of
31:08a sink. Interesting to note, too. You see those team totals up there, guys.
31:12The Patriots team total in the first half is seven and a half. That is an
31:16incredibly low number for any team in the first half of a, you know, game.
31:22That's not a college game where George is playing, you know, a team like, you
31:26know, uh, Kent State, right? Like that. That's that's where you see that kind
31:30of first half total. So, um, I look in that direction, like the first half
31:33under two quick props. I'll throw at you Hunter Henry over three and a half
31:37receptions and Romandre Stevenson over 16 and a half rushing attempts.
31:42Yeah, no, it looks good in that spot. If we because if we're looking at that
31:45total 38 and a half, we're not expecting a lot of explosive plays. When you look
31:48at the passing scenarios tonight, like Aaron Rodgers of all people to 15 and a
31:52half is his price here. Never would have sold that back in his Green Bay days.
31:55You look at Jacoby percent 1 63 and a half. The touchdown price is from the
31:59throw over one and a half for Aaron Rodgers plus 1 20. That's a plus money
32:03number. And also Jacoby percent. He doesn't even get the one and a half
32:05mark. It's a half at a minus 1 60. If we're playing quarterback props, is
32:09there any way you would look between Rodgers and Brissette?
32:13Jacoby reset the throne interception. How's that sound? I mean, there we go.
32:17It's in their past defense, right? I mean, the thing is, is that you're only
32:22gonna get about 17 or 18 attempts for the set to do it. Like Gerard A. O. Is
32:26as Bill Bella checking in as they come. The Jets run defense has given up 310
32:31yards of the first two game. That's 155 per game. Why would I want to throw
32:35into sauce? Gardner and a good jet secondary when I could just run up
32:38against a defense that's been gashed over the first two weeks, particularly
32:41again by a Titans team that doesn't necessarily do anything special in the
32:44ground game. You get San Francisco going off the Titans slide 130 yards in
32:48the ground. So I think you're not gonna get many chances. But if you're looking
32:51at a quarterback prop, I would look at Jacob reset to an exception or
32:55honestly take Aaron Rodgers two plus touchdowns and go in that direction.
32:59Try to catch this money because if he's going to have that kind of game, guess
33:03what? Um, it's gonna be a big game for him. But the idea for New England here
33:08is to slow this thing down, grind it to a halt, ask reset not to make many
33:12mistakes and hope that the run game here is good enough. Remember the
33:16Patriots run defense to second best in the league through two games, only
33:19giving a 55 yards per game. Some of that in Game one against the Patriots
33:22was, I mean, against the Bengals rather was that they were ahead the whole
33:26time. The Patriots had to throw a lot. So, but I would trust that Gerard
33:30Mayo, a disciple, you know, locks down the run game forces teams to throw and
33:36is willing to do the exact opposite. I'm gonna run until I have to pass on
33:39the offensive side of the ball. Very correlated in offensive scheme so far
33:43for New England. A lot of remandre Stevenson. He's had at least 21 attempts
33:47in each of the first two weeks. Jacoby reset attempts prompt tonight, 27 and a
33:51half. He has stayed under in each of the first two weeks, but he has played
33:55clean football. He has not thrown an interception. He is favored to not
33:59throw an interception at minus 1 40. Same for Aaron Rodgers, who did throw a
34:04pick week number one against San Francisco marks. You know, you do it
34:09all my man from Midwest matchups in Oklahoma to a match up here on a
34:14thursday night in the northeast in Met life. We appreciate your time. Have a
34:19great football weekend. It starts tonight. Same to you gentlemen. Enjoy
34:22the college Saturday and the NFL Sunday. Always a great time in this half hour.
34:27It goes swimmingly each and every time our three up next on the early line.
