00:07 Graves Park was packed this morning as thousands headed there to take part in, or watch,
00:13 the 2024 Sheffield Race for Life in aid of Cancer Research UK. We spoke to some of those taking part.
00:19 Who's hidden inside the dinosaur costume here?
00:21 That's my dad.
00:22 What's his name?
00:23 Mark.
00:23 Mark.
00:24 Right.
00:25 How proud are you of him?

00:30 [Laughter]
00:31 It's been absolutely brilliant. We enjoyed everything.
00:34 We enjoyed it.
00:35 Yeah.
00:36 Have you run it for anyone in particular?
00:37 Yeah, my dad and my mum.
00:39 And are they still with us?
00:41 No, no, unfortunately not.
00:43 Do you think they'll have been very proud of you today?
00:46 Yeah, definitely.
00:47 You just run the race for life. What distance did you do?
00:51 3k.
00:52 How did it go?
00:53 God.
00:54 And how do you feel about it?
00:56 Amazing.
00:57 We're proud of ourselves. Really proud.
01:00 Is one of you injured as well, did I hear?
01:02 Yeah, I've got a sprained wrist. We've got a chest infection.
01:06 But we did it.
01:07 We did it.
01:08 We did it. Very proud of ourselves.
01:10 Why have you done the race for life today?
01:12 For everyone who's experienced it, and especially my auntie who wanted to do the race but wasn't here today.
01:21 We lost my auntie on my daughter's birthday just over a week ago.
01:24 My name's Alison.
01:28 My name's Alison.
01:29 And my name's Alison.
01:30 And we're from Home Instead in Sheffield and Barnsley.
01:34 We look after people who are vulnerable and need extra support maybe to live independently in their own home.
01:42 So we're running for them today and also for relatives and people that we care about, people we've loved, people we've lost.
01:50 We've had a great time as well.
01:52 It's been amazing. We've had a fantastic day. I'm very tired.
