00:00said there were four hostages rescued today. There are three men and one woman and Israel
00:04has described this as a complex daytime operation. They said that it took weeks of planning. They had
00:10to train their military for it and that they rescued them from central Gaza, from Nusrat,
00:14in two buildings and that they escaped under gunfire. Now this is the largest rescue operation
00:21for hostages since the war began. There are four of them in total. Israel's rescued about
00:25seven hostages, two men and another woman were rescued in two separate operations. Now one of
00:30these hostages, Noah Argamami, her face has been widely recognized since the beginning of the war.
00:36After she was abducted from the festival there was a video that surfaced of her on a bike being
00:40taken, abducted into Gaza. Her screaming, her pained face screaming, don't kill me. Her mother
00:46also has stage four brain cancer and in April she released the video pleading for her daughter to be
00:51released so she could see her one more time before she dies. And so this is a very emotional day for
00:56all of these families as well as people in Israel. But there are still 120 hostages believed to be in
01:01Gaza and the military has said that about 43 of them are already confirmed to be dead. And on the
01:08political front Sam, the war cabinet minister Benny Gantz had been due to make an announcement
01:14later about his future in Benjamin Netanyahu's government but this has changed we understand.
01:18What more to be known?
01:23That's right, today June 8th was the last day of Gantz's ultimatum to Netanyahu that if he didn't
01:27change the war plan that he was going to resign from the war cabinet. He was supposed to make an
01:32announcement this evening. We think it's because of the hostage rescue that he has postponed this
01:36but people are still expecting him to speak whether it is later today or tomorrow. He'll
01:40likely talk in the coming days and there are a lot of people who think that he might in fact resign.
01:45He had given Netanyahu this ultimatum saying that there are six points that he needed to see
01:50including the release of the hostages, Hamas no longer being able to rule Gaza, the demilitarization
01:55of Gaza as well as an international administration made up of the EU, America, Palestinian and Arab
02:02partners to rule the day after. Now Gantz is seen as one of the more center members of the war
02:07cabinet and while analysts I've spoken to said it's not going to crush the war cabinet, it won't
02:11have a massive change, it would still be losing that more moderate voice if he does in fact resign.
02:17Okay Sam thanks very much for that update.
