‘Aghon’ exits Philippine area of responsibility; southwesterly wind flow affecting western parts of the country

00:00 At this time, the Philippine Area of Responsibility has also released the Typhoon Agon

00:05 with international name Iwinyar as of 12 in the afternoon.

00:09 And as of 4 p.m., it is at more than 1,200 kilometers northeast of extreme northern Luzon

00:16 towards the eastern coast of Japan.

00:19 Meanwhile, this Typhoon Agon has no direct effect,

00:21 but part of it is being strengthened by our Southwest Monsoon or Habagat

00:25 which is in the western section of our country.

00:28 So, it means that from now until tomorrow,

00:31 a large part of our country will still experience heavy rains.

00:34 The Southwest Monsoon is sometimes weak to strong rains

00:38 plus there are also gusts of wind.

00:40 So, this is not because of the Typhoon Agon.

00:43 Some of the experiences of the rains are in the Ilocos region,

00:45 here in a large part of Central Luzon, Metro Manila, Calabarzon,

00:50 below Western Visayas and Mimaropa,

00:52 up to Zamboanga Peninsula, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi.

01:05 here between the West Philippine Sea and South China Sea.
