00:00This building was built in around about the 1960s to early 70s. It was originally built
00:10to house the Navy cadets as a celebration of the 50-year anniversary of the loss of
00:17the US HMS Armidale in World War I, II, sorry.
00:22For us today Rex, you know we've got this amazing opportunity in this facility to help
00:29the Armidale community break cycles of violence and homelessness and it really provides a
00:35place that people can come when things get overwhelming and it's a really exciting opportunity
00:41that we've been given by Transport.
00:43What's the news?
00:44So it's going to be fantastic, even just this entranceway where we're going to be able to
00:49set up some tables in the sun for people to come and have a feed and feel comfortable
00:55here. It's going to be really welcoming and exciting space.
01:00It's a beautiful space, beautiful location and a wonderful thing for the community I think.
01:07I look forward to seeing all the potential that it brings and all the services and people
01:11that can be helped through the community as well.
01:14Absolutely, really focusing on vulnerable communities.
