00:00So many storylines to follow in Paris and Pam you hit the nail on the head one
00:05of the main narratives heading into the 2024 French Open could this be the last
00:09for Rafa maybe his last tournament ever at a place that he has been other
00:15worldly and dominant 18 appearances in his career at Roland Garros he has won
00:21the French Open 14 times the most Grand Slam titles by a single player at any of
00:28the four Grand Slams but it is the retirement tour his game as of late has
00:33been a little bit shaky what does success look like for Rafael at all at
00:38the 2024 French Open I think that is left for interpretation everybody who I
00:45have not seen on social media I haven't seen another news sources anybody giving
00:50it all a shot to even get through the first round of a tournament that he owns
00:55now me myself I've been watching him since 2005 I think it's under my belief
01:01that he's not just showing up to win a couple of matches if Nadal is playing if
01:06Rafa Nadal is playing the French Open it's because he wants to win the whole
01:09damn thing so in my perspective he's going to lay it out on the table
01:13success for him the deep run sure he wants a 15th title if we're taking a
01:20look at this tournament Pam and explain this sometimes because we look at these
01:23different surfaces they play on hard court clay grass why is Rafael Nadal been
01:28so good on the clay court and what gives him those advantages oh it's purely
01:33because of the surface it is a slow clay court and because of the way his style
01:38of game is a super heavy topspin the heaviest topspin player on tour it's
01:45just perfectly suited for his game it's not only that topspin that he has but
01:49it's complemented with a penetrating backhand and you want to talk about like
01:52the mental mindset that is required in a best-of-five tournament there's no
01:57other player out there who has the bull like mentality than a Rafa Nadal he's
02:02even said it himself if I lose tactically okay but you will never see
02:07me lose mentally that is not okay when you have somebody who has that type of
02:11mindset going into not even just a major tournament he plays how he plays a
02:15five-set major is the exact same way he plays a 250 best of three event it
02:20doesn't matter to him he's out there as a he wants to win he is a competitor at
02:25heart and because of that it's just like a dominating force it's a collective
02:29unit of things and when clay especially at rolling arrows is a slower surface
02:34it's about endurance it's about that mental mindset if you do go a full five
02:37sets there's so many aspects that come into it but more so it's definitely that
02:41heavy topspin that he has and it's excels at the most
