00:00We start in the men's tennis final between Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz. The final we wanted
00:05to see with a gold medal on the line at Roland Garros in Paris. The 37-year-old Serbian,
00:11that's Novak Djokovic. The 21-year-old Spaniard, that's Carlos Alcaraz, both battling for their
00:18first gold medal. But DRS, it was the fifth Olympiad for Novak Djokovic in his career.
00:24In a gold medal and really strong performances in the Olympic tournament had eluded him,
00:30not yesterday, in a dramatic, dramatic gold medal match that was only straight sets,
00:35but two great ones, 7-6, 7-6. Novak Djokovic wins his first career gold medal to complete the golden
00:44Grand Slam. That's all four Grand Slam titles and now a gold medal, gold medal, excuse me,
00:50becoming the third men's tennis player to ever accomplish that feat alongside Rafael Nadal and
00:55Andre Agassi. Yeah, pretty impressive too because you figure a guy of Novak Djokovic's ilk probably
01:01would have already had a gold medal at this point. As you said, it wasn't like bad timing,
01:05like, oh, this is his last chance because the only time he's ever going to play in the Olympics.
01:08But being a five-time Olympian and finally getting it done, probably that sense of relief because
01:13you do look back and now it's probably not the time for him when his career is done by saying,
01:16man, if I would have just got that gold medal, hang it in that trophy case, just really cement
01:20my career and put that cherry on top, that would have been great. And you saw the emotion come out
01:24after the victory when he understood what that meant. And also, you know, so many times that
01:28you're playing for yourself individually, yes, during those major tournaments. When you get to
01:32the Olympics, you're playing for yourself and your nation and how much that means to you and
01:37the nation. That's where you see all that emotion coming out at the end when it finally hits you,
01:40when that anthem is going to play. And it's your anthem because why? That's your country and you
01:45want it for the country. ATP Finals, that's the year-end championship in men's tennis. You saw
01:52Novak has seven of those. He is just the second man ever alongside Andre Agassi to win all four
01:58Grand Slams and ATP Finals. He has seven of them and a singles gold medal in tennis history.
