00:00 President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has left the Philippines next week for an important mission in the neighboring countries, Brunei and Singapore.
00:09 Aside from discussing the strengthening of the relationship, it is expected that the issue of security will also be discussed.

00:21 President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. will leave the Philippines next week for his important trip to Brunei, Darussalam and Singapore.
00:30 In his press briefing, the Foreign Affairs Department said that the President's first state visit to Brunei was already on Saturday,
00:38 where he was expected to receive assistance from Brunei Sultan Hassanal Bolquia.
00:43 It is expected that the two leaders will discuss the strengthening of the relationship between the two countries, particularly in the discussion of the economy and people-to-people relations.
00:54 But we want to focus in on economic cooperation. As you know, Brunei is a powerhouse in terms of energy, but they are also a good source of, a good market also for us.
01:07 It is also expected that some Memorandum of Understanding will be signed, which includes the priority areas including agriculture, food security, maritime cooperation and tourism.
01:18 The President will also lead the series of business forums in Brunei to encourage potential investors to build a home in the country.
01:28 The President will meet with top members of the business sectors to promote trade and investment relations between the Philippines and Brunei, Darussalam.
01:38 The Filipino community will also visit the executive board to know their situation and inform the government's programs for them.
01:47 In Singapore, the President will give a keynote speech at the International Institute for Strategic Studies or IISS Shangri-La Dialogue,
01:57 which is a first for a President of the Philippines.

02:06 It will provide a way for the country to discuss and address some regional and global security challenges.
02:14 It will be an important platform for us to actually also convey our positions relative to what is happening within the region and what we are advocating for.
02:26 On the sideline of the activity, President Marcos Jr. is expected to assist the newly elected President and Prime Minister of Singapore.
02:35 Singapore is an economic powerhouse, so this is one of the main points that we will be taking up.
02:41 And of course, we want to ensure that the relationship continues under the new administration in Singapore.
02:47 The President and First Lady Liza Araneta Marcos will visit Brunei and Singapore from May 28 to May 31.
