Warner Bros. Discovery Strikes Major Deal with ESPN for College Football Playoff Games

Warner Bros. Discovery has signed a 5-year sublicensing deal with ESPN to broadcast select College Football Playoff games. ESPN will produce the games and use their talent, while the broadcasts will be branded under TNT. Warner Bros. Discovery will pay ESPN "hundreds of millions" per year on average for the rights to the selected games. The new deal will see the 12-team College Football Playoff format begin in December 2024. All CFP games will remain available on the upcoming Venu Sports streaming service jointly owned by Disney, Fox, and Warner Bros. Discovery. College football playoff games had over 27 million viewers for the 2023 semifinal.
