Hamzah’s ex-aide charged with receiving RM350,000 bribe

A former political secretary to former home minister Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin has been charged at the Sessions Court in Kuala Lumpur over two counts of graft involving RM350,000 linked to a maintenance and spare parts supply tender for the police force.

The accused, Sayed Amir Muzzakkir Al Sayed Mohamad, 42, pleaded not guilty after the charges were read out before Sessions Court judge Azura Alwi on Thursday (May 23).

00:47 The alleged offences occurred at the office of Yayasan Tana Aku Solaris Dutamas on December
00:53 4 and December 16, 2020.
00:56 The charges fall under Section 16A(a) of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act
01:02 2009 and are punishable under Section 24(1) of the same Act, which provides imprisonment
01:08 for up to 20 years and a fine of not less than five times the amount or value of the
01:13 bribe or RM10,000 whichever is higher upon conviction.
