00:00But tonight it all begins in the Eastern Conference as the
00:06Indiana Pacers take on the Boston Celtics and the Celtics
00:10folks are up to 10 point favorites in game one. You
00:14don't see this a lot in the conference finals but that's
00:18where we're at. Total of two twenty and a half as Boston
00:22takes on Indiana. Naturally, the Celtics are heavily favored
00:26not just to win this series but also to win the NBA
00:29championship and Jalen Brown, one of their star players,
00:32talks about what the mentality will be as they get ready to
00:35take on Indiana. I think bothers me most. I think
00:38really majority of it is just navigating the motion like
00:41just being able to stay consistent. You know, you're
00:44going to make shots. You're going to miss shots. That's a
00:46part of it but if you allow the pressure to kind of get to you
00:49get to the tension builds, you know, you hear the crowd go
00:53all every time you miss. You know, I think that just builds
00:56up and it gives the team momentum like you just gotta
00:58stay, navigate your emotions and and and take it one
01:02possession at a time and I feel like you'll always have a
01:05chance to win if you don't get caught up in the emotion of the
01:08game, the emotion of the crowd and the emotion of the media or
01:11whatever it goes. Just come out, play each and every
01:14possession with the the best intentions possible. Come
01:18ready to fight every single night, every single possession
01:22and I feel like you'll be in a good spot. So, that's what I
01:26say to my team. Just let's just navigate our emotions as best
01:28we can. Again, Boston, ten-point favorites going into
01:31this game tonight. Meanwhile, a very big piece of news here
01:35coming from the college football world. The Georgia's
01:38quarterback, Jaylen Rashada, who used to play for the
01:41University of Florida announced that he is suing the Gators and
01:46suing Florida coach Billy Napier and also a booster named
01:50Hugh Hathcock and a former staffer named Marcus Castro
01:55Walker folks and the reason he's suing them is he says that
02:00he wasn't paid on his NIL deal that was hypothetically set to
02:05pay folks get this 13.85 million dollars in an NIL deal to a
02:13college athlete. Now folks, we have not heard a lot of
02:16finances ever being thrown around like this and now we
02:19know what the universities potentially have at least
02:22offered to pay. Now, this also features an SEC quarterback
02:27suing a sitting rival head coach. It's the most notable
02:32NIL related lawsuit to date and the basically the lawsuit
02:36says essentially that the Gators, Florida, my home
02:40school, and I'm an alumni of the Gators, had no intention of
02:44following through on their financial promises. Rashada is
02:46also claiming that Napier and Hathcock never had any
02:49intention of paying the money but had great intentions to
02:52say that he would. Of course, he's playing for the Bulldogs
02:55now and Kirby Smart, the head coach there, gave him his
02:59blessing. So, stay tuned to see what happens here in this
03:03crazy wild wild west of NIL deals. Alright, the NHL got
03:08what they wish for. I think Connor McDavid moving on. I
03:11think that's probably fair. They wanted Edmonton to win
03:13right three to two the final there. Canucks had a tough time
03:17and Edmonton moves on to the Western Conference finals to
03:19take on Dallas. As I mentioned, a huge series involved for
03:23Connor McDavid who is arguably one of the faces if not the
03:26face of the National Hockey League and it was really all
03:30about just holding serve in the third and Connor McDavid
03:33after the game talked about shutting Vancouver down. Yeah,
03:36I thought we played really well. You don't have to see the
03:37kill steps up with another huge one. They've been great all
03:40playoffs long and you know, starts with a kill there in the
03:44the period and you know, we did a good job of just kind of
03:47rolling lines and you know, killing the clock and keeping
03:50them on the outside and it's going to get interesting
03:52eventually. You know, it just is. They're playing for their
03:56life. It's going to, they're pushing hard. They're sending
03:58everyone every time and I thought we did a great job of
04:03you know, bending but not breaking. Yeah, and Connor
04:07McDavid in fact moving on. We're going to move ahead now
04:09by the way from the NHL to Major League Baseball. I don't
04:14know if you caught some of the action last night but a very
04:17disappointing I would say day for the San Diego Padres. Let's
04:21just get real. Xander Bogarts who they paid a ton of money
04:24left with a shoulder injury. He has not been the same since
04:27going to San Diego from Boston too early to tell if we'll head
04:31to the IL but Bogarts hurt for the Padres last night. Also
04:35Raphael Devers. Nobody hotter in baseball than him right now.
04:39Sixth consecutive game homering. That's a Red Sox
04:42record. Five nothing win over Tampa Bay. Devers had shared
04:46the mark of five with Jimmy Fox, Hall of Famer, Ted Williams,
04:51Hall of Famer, Jose Canseco, not a Hall of Famer and some
04:55others. George Scott, Dick Stewart, Bobby Dahlbach. He's
04:58the first major leaguer to do it since the Angels Mike Trout
05:01had a seven game streak in September of 2022. Meanwhile,
05:04the Minnesota Twins, all those good vibes are gone. What
05:07happened? They won seven in a row. Now, they lost seven in a
05:09row. Rocco Baldelli called a players only meeting yesterday.
05:12Twins have been just really inconsistent up and down all
05:15year long. Garrett Cole expected to face hitters today.
05:18Another step in his recovery from nerve inflammation. The
05:22Yankees have certainly held it together without him. He's been
05:25very durable through the years making 30 starts in every
05:27season since 2017 except for 2020 and Cole could potentially
05:32return sometime in June or July. National Basketball
05:36Association handing out more awards. The all rookie first
05:39team was determined yesterday. No surprise here. Victor Wemba
05:43Yama, Chet Holmgren among some of the names including Brandon
05:49Miller of the Hornets as well. Meanwhile, LeBron James is
05:52reportedly not involved in the Lakers next head coach.
05:56According to Stadium, LeBron has made it clear that it is the
05:59organization's decision. He is not pushing for his podcast
06:02partner, JJ Redick. At least that's what he says. The New
06:05York Liberty win again. They're undefeated. Seventy-four to
06:08sixty-three is the win yesterday. Sabrina Ionescu, 20
06:11points as Liberty beat the Storm and meanwhile, the beat
06:15goes on in a negative way for the Indiana Fever and Kaitlyn
06:19Clark. They lost again. This time to the Connecticut Sun.
06:23They haven't won a game on the season. Clark was pretty good
06:25from the field. Five from eleven. Seventeen points but
06:29they play Seattle next. That's probably their most winnable
06:32game left. You know, since the schedule has begun. Seattle's
06:35one and three on the year. Several games in the WNBA
06:39tonight including Washington and LA. That's supposed to be a
06:42tight game from what I hear. Alright, National Football
06:44League, Justin Jefferson, not at Vikings OTAs, supposedly
06:48looking for a new contract extension. Of course, AJ Brown
06:51got a big deal. Three years, ninety-six million and you
06:54know, Jefferson wants to be the highest paid wide receiver in
06:56the NFL. He probably should be. T Higgins also not expected to
06:59sign the tender for the Cincinnati Bengals before OTAs.
07:03No word on what will end up happening with him. May 28th
07:06through May 30th, June 3rd through 6th are the OTAs in the
07:09National Football League. How about the good news for North
07:12Carolina as their sports handle in wagering has spiked in a big
07:16way. In March, the gross wagering revenue, 66 million
07:20dollars. Incredible number for them. Eighteen percent tax rate
07:24as well. April, a hundred and five million dollars. Even
07:27ahead of college basketball as well. So, North Carolina
07:29definitely off to a good start. Also, how about this? A former
07:32Toledo assistant is suing Toledo for a lawsuit against
07:36the university alleging that he was fired due to both his age
07:38and race. Seeking more than ten million dollars in damages. So,
07:44a subsequent conversation in the complaint was deemed to be
07:48retaliation and even some sexual harassment allegations
07:52involved as well. So, stay tuned to that story, no doubt.
