'The Room' Star Understands Comparisons to Coppola's Polarizing 'Megalopolis'
Francis Ford Coppola either has another masterpiece, or a dud in his new "Megalopolis" movie -- and amid comparisons to "The Room," one of its OG stars is betting on Coppola.

00:21 So I know he was very bold.
00:25 Coppola is somebody who's really going forward.
00:27 He sold his winery and went all out
00:29 to make "Megalopolis."
00:30 And I think, you know, Tommy was in a very similar vein.
00:33 It was at a point in his life
00:35 where he put everything into the room.
00:37 He wanted to show everything that he understood
00:39 and believed and loved.
00:40 And there's so much passion going into both films.
00:43 And I think nowadays you gotta be on kind of either side.
00:46 It's gotta be something that blows people away
00:48 for this reason,
00:49 and it's gotta blow people away
00:51 for other reasons as well.
00:53 So I don't know, it makes me really wanna see it.
00:56 And I guess that says something
00:57 that if people compare a movie to "The Room,"
01:00 it's kind of a must-see,
01:02 especially if "The Room" just celebrated
01:03 20 years screening around the world.
01:06 So I think Coppola should be very proud of this film,
01:10 that he put it out there.
01:12 He could have sat back and not done it,
01:14 but audiences are now excited about a movie.
