00:00 All right, I just watched the Knicks in the gambling clave show their grit, heart, and
00:05 determination winning game two against the Indiana Pacers.
00:08 And you know, I'm getting ready for a special walk with a big Knicks fan.
00:13 Jerry Ferrara, you know, mainly as Turtle from Entourage, but he is a huge Knicks fan.
00:20 New Yorker, true and true.
00:21 Late night walk.
00:23 The city of New York, alive after a beautiful Knicks win.
00:27 So let's go with Jerry Ferrara.
00:44 There is no better item to walk in than a rollback hoodie.
00:50 I just tried one on.
00:52 It's incredible.
00:53 Soft, comfortable, stretchy.
00:55 I mean, this is the most comfortable hoodie I have ever worn.
01:00 And you can get one just like this and get 20% off by using frank@rollback.com.
01:09 That's promo code frank at R-H-O-B-A-C-K.com.
01:16 So get your rollback today.
01:17 Look at this.
01:18 Look at this.
01:19 I mean, look how stylish this is.
01:21 This is what I call stylish wear comfortable.
01:25 I mean, if you're going on the beach, those late nights, perfect for those cool summer
01:30 nights.
01:31 Rollback.
01:32 Hey, how's it going?
01:33 How are you?
01:34 I mean, I just, what we just watched.
01:37 That was a great, great win.
01:39 Great, great win.
01:40 That was tough.
01:41 Here we go.
01:42 Before we start, we got a nice little shirt here.
01:46 Frank walks.
01:47 What?
01:48 Here you go.
01:49 Look at this.
01:50 And they're already sold out too.
01:52 We had to.
01:53 I love what you're doing, man.
01:55 So how was it watching tonight?
01:56 Was everybody?
01:59 Well we had the one Pacers fan in the-
02:01 Right.
02:02 Yeah, yeah, of course.
02:03 Well, he's a legitimate Pacers fan.
02:06 So it's not like he's a Nick hater.
02:08 He did Vibs.
02:09 He's from Indiana.
02:11 Are you less, I mean, I'm very, I'm less stressed out.
02:16 Even if they would have lost tonight, it still is an enjoyable loss then compared to what
02:21 was going on with Philly.
02:22 I hate Philadelphia.
02:23 I hate all Philadelphia sports teams.
02:26 I hate the city of Philadelphia.
02:30 I imagine their fans like driving their knuckles as they walk.
02:37 You see, I'm a Devils fan.
02:39 New Jersey.
02:44 So you just don't even think about Stephon Matteau, guaranteed victor.
02:49 I mean, 30 years ago, almost to the day.
02:55 Three Stanley Cups though erased all the pain from that.
02:59 Yes, yes.
03:00 When you win three of them, even though it's been 21 years now, three Stanley Cups is something.
03:09 That's kind of what I even say about the Giants.
03:13 It's like, look, obviously they're in a tough spot right now, but they gave me so much joy.
03:18 It's like, of course I want them to win.
03:21 I want them to be good, but it's so hard to like...
03:24 And every day I watch the Devils goalie, I still miss Martin Brodeur.
03:30 It basically came to a certain point where you're just sitting there watching and go,
03:34 this is the best ever.
03:36 There's never going to be anyone better.
03:39 And that's what it was like watching Martin Brodeur.
03:41 So what did you even think though, not that you're some big Nets fan, but what did you
03:44 think when the Nets moved from Jersey to Brooklyn?
03:47 I hated it.
03:49 I hated it.
03:50 I'm a Brooklyn kid now.
03:51 I was like, wait, what?
03:52 To tell you the truth, for 10 years, I almost lost interest in the NBA.
03:58 10 years?
03:59 You went that long?
04:00 Like where it was like waning interest?
04:01 Yeah.
04:02 Wow.
04:03 Yeah.
04:04 I don't know much.
04:05 All I know is that I went to one last Nets game, the last game in New Jersey.
04:12 That was the last game I went to with the Nets.
04:15 I didn't go to the Barclays Center until after the pandemic.
04:20 The first time I went to the Barclays Center, the Nets then had that foolish trade where
04:26 they got the old folks home from Boston and basically stocked the Celtics.
04:33 That's how they got Tatum and Brown in front of DraftPixen.
04:37 This asinine trade.
04:39 So their last years in Jersey were so bad.
04:43 One year they started 0-18.
04:46 They were a lame duck franchise.
04:49 So it was like 10 years I didn't care.
04:52 And then they friggin' reeled me back in with Durant and Irving.
04:56 They got you with that?
04:59 And then when they just made it just all about drama, all the pain, all the suffering, all
05:03 the whining.
05:05 Every day Kyrie Irving's causing some trouble.
05:08 And then when that broke up, I was like, that's it.
05:11 I am done with them.
05:13 I can't take them anymore.
05:15 They left New Jersey.
05:17 I can't.
05:19 I declared myself a fan free agent and the Knicks, True Janks, recruited me and that's
05:26 how I became a Knicks fan.
05:27 So let me ask you something because I have a little problem on my hands, right?
05:31 I grew up in Brooklyn.
05:32 I'm obviously Knicks, Yankees, Rangers, Giants, right?
05:36 So my kids, their mom, my wife, is from Cleveland.
05:41 Cleveland is a great sports town, right?
05:45 And we're starting now to get, like, they're getting into sports, they're really young
05:49 and now we're starting to be a house divided.
05:52 And I got to pick and choose though, right?
05:54 I don't think I should demand all New York teams.
05:59 I want to.
06:00 But if I have to give one up, what do you think I should give up?
06:04 Well, you don't have hockey in Cleveland.
06:06 So Rangers stay.
06:07 So if I have to give up the Giants, Yankees, or Knicks, I know my answer.
06:11 I'm curious what your answer would be.
06:16 So give up the Yankees.
06:17 Give up the Yankees, right?
06:19 Yeah.
06:20 Give them the Guardians.
06:21 Yeah, give them the Guardians.
06:22 That's where my head is at too, as much as that would pain me as a Yankee fan.
06:25 They have to suffer through the Knicks with me.
06:27 Like that's just like, that's father-son stuff.
06:30 They'll probably have to go to therapy because of it later in life.
06:33 I'll pay for it.
06:34 So they're living in New York.
06:36 It's another reason.
06:37 It's funny.
06:38 You've got the breakdowns.
06:39 You've got the Giants and the Jets.
06:42 I'd say that might be a 70-30 breakdown.
06:45 Of course, you've got fans of other teams like me.
06:47 I'm a Dolphin fan, strangely enough.
06:49 Yeah, I mean, I know a lot of New York, New Jersey guys who are Dolphin fans though.
06:54 For some reason, I think that was just a team that was on TV a lot.
06:57 Dan Marino.
06:58 Dan Marino.
06:59 Because when I really thought about the kid situation, it's like, I can't let them be
07:02 Knicks Browns fans.
07:04 That's like a, I mean, that's tough.
07:06 That's a tough hang.
07:07 I like the Knicks.
07:08 I like their, even though the Knicks are all the rage right now, that's a tough hang.
07:11 All right, give up the Yankees.
07:13 Let them watch the Guardians.
07:14 They can talk about, you know, the old days.
07:17 My wife can talk about the old days of Kenny Lofton and it'll be wonderful.
07:20 I first liked the Dolphins because the TV show Flipper.
07:25 They went to a Super Bowl.
07:27 They went to a Super Bowl.
07:29 They beat the Jets to go to Super Bowl XVII.
07:32 And they lost.
07:33 Broke my heart.
07:34 Right.
07:35 John Riggins.
07:36 John Riggins, of course.
07:37 John Riggins.
07:39 But then the next, then he drafted Dan Marino.
07:41 And here you got an Italian wearing number 13.
07:46 My birthday is November 13th.
07:48 I always liked the number 13.
07:51 And it was just, I'm a Dan Marino fan.
07:55 And it just, I stayed a Dolphin fan forever.
07:57 So are you, you know, everybody obviously ranks like, well, he doesn't have a ring,
08:01 so they knock him down so far.
08:04 It was such a different sport back then.
08:06 Yeah.
08:07 It was such a different sport.
08:08 Because he throws for 6,000 yards probably in today's NFL, right?
08:11 He threw for 5,000 yards.
08:12 Right.
08:13 Back then.
08:14 Yeah.
08:15 Yeah.
08:16 He, he, he, he set the records and the records weren't broken until, until years later.
08:22 He's the one, he shattered the records in '84.
08:25 Right.
08:26 Shattered the records.
08:27 Look at us.
08:28 We're like kind of sneaking into a club right now.
08:29 Look at us.
08:30 Look at us.
08:31 We're like sneaking into a club right now.
08:32 We're like sneaking into a club.
08:33 We're like sneaking into a club.
08:34 We're like sneaking into a club.
08:35 We're like sneaking into a club.
08:36 We're like sneaking into a club.
08:37 We're like sneaking into a club.
08:38 We're like sneaking into a club.
08:39 We're like sneaking into a club.
08:40 We're like sneaking into a club.
08:41 We're like sneaking into a club.
08:42 We're like sneaking into a club.
08:43 We're like sneaking into a club.
08:44 We're like sneaking into a club.
08:45 We're like sneaking into a club.
08:46 We're like sneaking into a club.
08:47 We're like sneaking into a club.
08:48 We're like sneaking into a club.
08:49 We're like sneaking into a club.
08:50 We're like sneaking into a club.
08:51 We're like sneaking into a club.
08:52 We're like sneaking into a club.
09:20 We're like sneaking into a club.
09:27 We're like sneaking into a club.
09:28 We're like sneaking into a club.
09:29 We're like sneaking into a club.
09:30 We're like sneaking into a club.
09:31 We're like sneaking into a club.
09:32 We're like sneaking into a club.
09:33 We're like sneaking into a club.
09:34 We're like sneaking into a club.
09:35 We're like sneaking into a club.
09:36 We're like sneaking into a club.
09:37 We're like sneaking into a club.
09:38 We're like sneaking into a club.
09:39 We're like sneaking into a club.
09:40 We're like sneaking into a club.
09:41 We're like sneaking into a club.
09:42 We're like sneaking into a club.
09:43 We're like sneaking into a club.
09:44 We're like sneaking into a club.
09:45 We're like sneaking into a club.
09:46 We're like sneaking into a club.
09:47 We're like sneaking into a club.
09:48 We're like sneaking into a club.
09:49 We're like sneaking into a club.
09:50 We're like sneaking into a club.
09:51 We're like sneaking into a club.
09:52 We're like sneaking into a club.
09:53 We're like sneaking into a club.
09:54 We're like sneaking into a club.
09:55 We're like sneaking into a club.
09:56 We're like sneaking into a club.
09:57 We're like sneaking into a club.
09:58 We're like sneaking into a club.
09:59 We're like sneaking into a club.
10:00 We're like sneaking into a club.
10:01 We're like sneaking into a club.
10:02 We're like sneaking into a club.
10:03 We're like sneaking into a club.
10:04 We're like sneaking into a club.
10:05 We're like sneaking into a club.
10:06 We're like sneaking into a club.
10:07 We're like sneaking into a club.
10:08 We're like sneaking into a club.
10:09 We're like sneaking into a club.
10:10 We're like sneaking into a club.
10:11 We're like sneaking into a club.
10:12 We're like sneaking into a club.
10:13 We're like sneaking into a club.
10:14 We're like sneaking into a club.
10:15 We're like sneaking into a club.
10:16 We're like sneaking into a club.
10:17 We're like sneaking into a club.
10:18 We're like sneaking into a club.
10:19 We're like sneaking into a club.
10:20 We're like sneaking into a club.
10:21 We're like sneaking into a club.
10:22 We're like sneaking into a club.
10:23 We're like sneaking into a club.
10:24 We're like sneaking into a club.
10:25 We're like sneaking into a club.
10:26 We're like sneaking into a club.
10:27 We're like sneaking into a club.
10:28 We're like sneaking into a club.
10:29 We're like sneaking into a club.
10:30 We're like sneaking into a club.
10:31 We're like sneaking into a club.
10:32 >> So, and the Knicks, now that I think about it, I wore a Rangers jersey.
10:35 I never actually thought about this.
10:37 My character wore a Rangers jersey, a Knicks jersey, and a Yankees jersey all in the pilot
10:41 episode.
10:42 So, I guess you put that out there.
10:44 That's a good bone to pick though.
10:45 I see what you're saying.
10:46 >> I mean, Queens, you're from Queens.
10:48 That's Knicks country.
10:49 >> Yes.
10:50 >> I mean, it's not like, it's not like the Knicks.
10:52 The Knicks, 95% of New York are Knicks fans.
10:56 And a small percentage of people are Knicks fans.
11:00 I think if the Knicks ever won a championship, there would be about 20 people at the parade.
11:04 It would look like a WNBA parade.
11:07 >> There was a nice little Easter egg.
11:09 Kevin Dillon, who plays Johnny Drama on the show, is a huge Mets fan, right?
11:13 He's from Westchester, which is strange for a Westchester guy to be a Mets fan.
11:17 So, we did an episode where my character gets talked into by him by buying a Sandy Koufax
11:24 jersey because we think he's going to die.
11:26 So we think it's going to go up in value.
11:28 But in the episode, and we end up getting the jersey, Sandy doesn't die.
11:32 But in the episode, Kevin Dillon, he's wearing, I want to say like an 86 Mets Dykstra jersey.
11:39 It's a pretty awesome jersey, the pinstripe and all that.
11:41 >> The racing stripe.
11:42 I love the racing stripe.
11:43 >> Yeah, he worked the Mets into the show like once or twice.
11:46 But yeah, that was really it.
11:49 >> I mean, you guys should have been Mets fans.
11:51 >> Well, I'll give you one better, Frank.
11:53 I haven't really thought about this in a long time.
11:57 Obviously as a kid growing up, what's the biggest dream as a baseball fan, right?
12:00 You want the Subway Series.
12:01 >> Yep.
12:02 >> But you know it's never going to happen, most likely.
12:06 So I move out to LA in January 2000.
12:11 And shortly after that, I was in LA for the Subway Series.
12:15 I waited all that time, I moved to LA, and then a few months later, Subway Series.
12:19 And I had to watch it on TV in LA.
12:21 It was devastating.
12:22 >> Of course, it was a disappointing result for me.
12:24 >> Yeah, that was a tough one.
12:28 >> That was classic Armando Benitez.
12:29 >> Yeah, oh man.
12:30 >> Because if the Mets win game one, that's a different series.
12:34 >> Yeah, and that game one was clear.
12:35 >> And Armando Benitez.
12:36 >> Did he blow a save?
12:38 Or was it a tie game and he just didn't hold?
12:41 >> The Mets had a one-run lead in the ninth and...
12:45 >> He blew the save.
12:46 >> He blew the save and the Yankees won it in like 13 innings.
12:50 >> Damn, I didn't realize.
12:51 I knew it was a closer series than people remember.
12:53 I didn't realize game one was that close.
12:55 >> Yeah.
12:56 >> I don't know.
12:57 Look, I always say, too, the greatest movie, sports movie that has not been made yet, and
13:02 I don't know if it ever will get made, is based on the book The Bad Guys.
13:06 >> Oh, I want that movie made.
13:08 >> You know...
13:09 >> I want that movie made.
13:10 If I was a producer...
13:11 >> I went after the rights several times.
13:12 I think I got really close at one point and then kind of COVID happened.
13:15 I think someone might have the rights now because that writer, all his books are starting
13:19 to get...
13:20 >> Yeah, Jeff Fren.
13:21 >> Perlman's books are all...
13:22 >> Winning Time.
13:23 >> Winning Time.
13:24 I hate the Lakers and I love Winning Time.
13:28 I hate the Lakers and I love Winning Time.
13:31 >> The thing with Winning Time that I was so pleasantly surprised about was like, I didn't
13:35 think you would ever be able to cast Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, like guys who could act
13:40 and pull off the basketball and look like the guys.
13:43 >> Well, you know what...
13:44 >> And they did it.
13:45 It was pretty perfect.
13:46 >> The guy who played Norm Nixon is actually Norm Nixon's son.
13:50 >> Right.
13:51 >> And the guy who played Magic, like looked like Magic, sounded like Magic, moved like
13:54 Magic.
13:55 And then the guy who played Larry Bird, that was just, they were showing off at that point.
13:58 >> Yeah.
13:59 >> Like, look how good we nailed this.
14:00 >> And Adrian Brody did such a great job as Pat Riley.
14:05 >> Yeah.
14:06 So that would be like, if you could pick a sports movie that's out there that's never
14:09 been made that you would like to see, it would be 86 Mets.
14:12 >> Bad Guys 1.
14:13 >> Bad Guys 1.
14:14 >> Yeah.
14:15 And you begin it off with that crazy plane ride.
14:18 >> Look at that beautiful sight right there, baby.
14:20 >> Look at that.
14:21 >> It's got a little orange.
14:23 >> I never thought this day was going to come that we would actually...
14:25 >> Blue and orange, look at that.
14:27 >> That would be lit and it would actually mean something.
14:31 >> That is a beautiful building.
14:33 >> I mean, this is very cinematic right here.
14:35 >> Yes, yes it is.
14:36 >> Come on.
14:37 Did you guys walk this way on purpose?
14:38 >> No, we're walking to your hotel.
14:39 We're going to 5th and then toward your hotel.
14:41 >> See, sometimes, man, you just get these like little happy, happy accidents where you
14:45 know you're doing, you know, you're right in the right, you're going the right way.
14:48 >> Well, look what happened.
14:50 We did the Sopranos walk and I walked with the three guys from Sopranos there and it
14:56 was a horrible day.
14:58 >> Yeah.
14:59 >> Like, like torrential rains.
15:00 And we were lucky enough that Restaurant Depot down there let us walk around Restaurant Depot
15:05 for a half hour and it almost felt like a meeting with the crew.
15:13 >> Do you have like a, I won't say pick your favorite, but like a top five of your walks
15:19 so far?
15:20 Do you have, have you even begun to, and if you have done this already on camera, I'm
15:23 sorry.
15:25 Have you organized like your top five?
15:27 >> Well.
15:28 >> By the way, I could be way down in the 200.
15:31 Don't worry about me.
15:32 I get it.
15:33 I'm new.
15:34 >> I tell you, I tell you who my favorite is, ones are, is Boomer.
15:39 >> Right.
15:40 >> Mike Francesa.
15:41 >> Boomer was recent, right?
15:42 >> No, released today.
15:43 >> Today.
15:44 Yeah, yeah.
15:45 >> Mike Francesa.
15:46 >> Oh, of course.
15:47 I mean, I grew up, and now his son's interning for me.
15:53 >> That's awesome, man.
15:54 >> I mean, that's.
15:55 >> That's awesome, right?
15:56 >> That's crazy.
15:57 >> Yeah, that's crazy.
15:58 >> Crazy to think.
15:59 I, the one that's not been released yet, it's going to be released soon, Dwight Gooden.
16:07 >> Whoo!
16:08 >> Dwight Gooden, probably the number one reason why I'm a Mets fan is Dwight Gooden.
16:15 Dwight Gooden, it just, I forgot how much I just love Dwight Gooden.
16:20 It ended poorly, you know, and Dwight Gooden has his issues that every time he gets in
16:26 trouble it breaks my heart, but I'm glad he's actually doing well now.
16:30 >> Yeah.
16:31 >> The Mets retired his number.
16:32 >> Should have, and justifiably so.
16:35 >> And I just remember he had that big poster.
16:41 It was on a building on 9th Avenue and around 42nd Street.
16:45 >> Yeah.
16:46 >> Right near the Lincoln Tunnel.
16:47 So if I came into Manhattan, I would take the D Camp bus, and as you're pulling into
16:54 the bus terminal, you saw that Dwight Gooden.
16:59 That was like, okay, I'm in New York now.
17:01 >> Right.
17:02 >> There's Dwight Gooden.
17:03 >> Right.
17:04 Did it bother you when he went to the Yankees?
17:05 I'm sure you didn't love that.
17:07 I was at his no hitter.
17:09 >> I didn't love it, but I was kind of glad to see him have success with the Yankees.
17:14 >> Yeah.
17:15 That was, I forget the year, I think it was '95.
17:18 >> '96.
17:19 >> Was the no hitter?
17:20 It was the World Series year.
17:22 >> '96.
17:23 >> You know.
17:24 >> He was actually suspended the entire '95 season.
17:26 >> Right.
17:27 I just remember it being, sorry, go ahead, buddy.
17:29 I remember it being just a really random game versus the Mariners.
17:32 My friends had tickets.
17:33 I don't even think all of us had driver's licenses at the time.
17:36 I think one of our friends just took his mother's car and drove us to the Bronx.
17:40 Seats were okay.
17:41 And then, you know, sixth inning, you just look up, it's like, oh, shit, Dwight Gooden's
17:46 throwing a no hitter.
17:47 And let's go, Knicks.
17:54 I mean, you could live without the fuck the Pacers part, I guess.
17:57 >> It's New York.
17:58 >> I know.
17:59 The Pacers just don't bother me.
18:00 They don't feel like a fuck the Pacers to me.
18:02 >> Philadelphia is a fuck.
18:03 >> Philadelphia is a fuck, yes.
18:05 Even as a Devils fan, let me tell you something.
18:08 I despise the Rangers.
18:09 >> Right.
18:10 >> Hey, how's it going?
18:12 >> Darren Ruff.
18:13 >> Darren Ruff.
18:14 He sucks.
18:17 I have a visceral hatred, ten times that of what I have for the Rangers, for the Philadelphia
18:24 Flyers.
18:25 >> Yeah.
18:26 >> There is nothing.
18:28 The Devils have won three Stanley Cups.
18:32 Even almost as a big of a highlight of the Devils Stanley Cup wins was when Scott Stevens
18:38 ended Eric Lindros.
18:39 Because I hated Eric Lindros.
18:42 And Scott Stevens ended Eric Lindros.
18:45 >> I remember.
18:46 And, you know, Lindros was like the first player I remember as a kid with hockey being like,
18:51 this is the next guy.
18:53 You know, this is going to be the next Gretzky.
18:55 And yeah, man, like, I really haven't heard much.
18:59 >> I kind of love you.
19:02 >> Wow.
19:03 This is the man right here.
19:05 So I'm glad you let me walk with him.
19:07 >> How's it going?
19:08 >> Hello.
19:09 Can I hello you too?
19:10 >> Hello.
19:11 Nice to meet you.
19:12 Be careful where you're at.
19:13 Yeah.
19:14 Enjoy your night.
19:15 >> Thank you.
19:16 >> Yeah, man.
19:17 It's so.
19:18 Who do you want?
19:19 You want the next ring for the Mets, right?
19:21 If you could pick one of your teams.
19:22 >> Yeah.
19:23 >> It's the Mets by far.
19:24 >> I was 10.
19:27 I had to go to bed.
19:28 I didn't see it live.
19:29 I want to see it live.
19:31 I want to go to the parade.
19:34 I've seen the Devils win three of them.
19:36 I'd love to see Devils win another one, but I've seen three of them.
19:39 I'd love to see a Dolphins Super Bowl.
19:44 And basketball has always been my fourth sport.
19:46 So obviously the Knicks.
19:49 I think the Knicks are.
19:51 I think the Knicks are very in a very good position to win one in the next five years.
19:56 >> Yeah.
19:57 >> If Tibbs doesn't grind them down to.
20:00 >> Hey.
20:01 How's it going?
20:02 >> What up, brother?
20:03 >> How's it going?
20:04 >> It's going, dude.
20:05 >> Thanks.
20:06 >> Love you.
20:07 >> Thanks.
20:08 >> You mentioned the Sopranos.
20:09 Is that your favorite show?
20:10 >> Oh, one.
20:11 Yeah.
20:12 Seinfeld and.
20:13 >> Seinfeld, of course.
20:14 I know that.
20:15 >> Seinfeld and Sopranos.
20:16 >> Yeah.
20:17 >> Those are my two favorite shows.
20:18 And well, the Sopranos, that's where I'm from.
20:19 >> Right.
20:20 >> I live less than a mile from the house Uncle Junior.
20:29 >> Uncle Junior's house?
20:30 >> Yes, I live less than a mile from Uncle Junior's house.
20:34 They always talk about the Bloomfield Avenue, the Ginzo Highway.
20:38 I've lived near that highway my whole life.
20:41 That is that highway.
20:42 I know that every inch of Bloomfield Avenue.
20:45 >> Yeah, that's my all time too.
20:48 >> Safely.
20:50 Yeah, I think that's my number one too.
20:54 >> I mean, well, HBO just had a good quality TV.
20:58 And of course, Entourage all those years.
21:00 >> Look, I always said back in the day, it's like, you know, doing a show on HBO, it's
21:05 like you're playing for the Yankees.
21:07 Meaning like, you know, you may not win the championship, but you're going to have a really
21:11 good team.
21:12 You're going to be in the playoffs a lot.
21:13 You know, they.
21:14 >> I mean.
21:15 >> They give you every opportunity to succeed.
21:18 You know, if you look at them, like if they were the ownership group, like of a sports
21:22 franchise, they really try to take care of their players to win.
21:26 So great.
21:27 So I think if Entourage is on any other network, it gets canceled after like year one.
21:32 Probably it wasn't like a ratings giant out of the gate.
21:35 It took a lot of time to build.
21:37 I think like the second and third seasons were especially good.
21:42 And the more Ari got involved.
21:44 Right.
21:45 I mean, Ari with the crew, it was like a little like a little arc.
21:52 His daughter there is like 13 years old going out with this child star that he hated.
21:57 >> Yes.
21:58 >> And then Ari arranged for him to shoot a movie in Africa just to get him.
22:07 >> I forgot about that one.
22:09 >> That was his like.
22:10 >> And, you know, it's so funny because I'm a father now.
22:14 I can see me doing some shit like that.
22:17 >> That was just so funny.
22:18 >> Yeah.
22:19 >> That he did.
22:20 He goes, it's going to make his career.
22:23 Oh, good.
22:24 I want to make his career.
22:27 >> He was tremendous.
22:28 He had some some scenes where he just lit it up.
22:32 Talk about like if you equate things to sports.
22:35 He had a few nights where he went four for five, six RBI's, you know, big numbers, especially
22:41 in those like second, third year when we figured it out.
22:44 >> Yeah, I mean, it was like like what he said, like, was it Rosh Hashanah?
22:48 He got Yom Kippur.
22:49 >> Yom Kippur.
22:50 >> Yom Kippur episodes where he's not supposed to be on his phone and he's on his phone like
22:55 nonstop.
22:56 >> Yeah.
22:57 >> And his wife wants to kill him.
22:58 >> We shot that at a real racetrack out in Del Mar.
23:03 And let me tell you, you know, we have all that downtime on set.
23:07 If you like the ponies, that's a bad place to be when you're like, hey, I got two hours
23:11 off.
23:12 The races are still going on.
23:13 Let's go up to the wait.
23:14 I mean, yeah.
23:15 >> Well, I've been looking at some of your you've actually, besides doing Entourage,
23:21 I've worked with some great actors like Wahlberg.
23:27 You worked with Mark Wahlberg.
23:28 >> Yeah.
23:29 >> Tom Hanks.
23:30 >> Yes.
23:31 >> I mean, Sully.
23:32 >> Sully, which, you know, directed by Clint Eastwood.
23:36 You know, I have a very small part, which some of it even got cut.
23:40 But you know, the Hollywood folklore with like Clint Eastwood was he only does one take
23:46 and he doesn't call action.
23:48 And then I just got this call.
23:49 I don't even think I auditioned for it.
23:51 It's like, you got this offer.
23:53 It's for a Clint Eastwood movie right away.
23:55 I'm like, oh, my God, I cannot believe this is happening.
23:58 Then you see it's like, all right, you got two scenes.
24:00 Calm down.
24:01 And they're quick scenes.
24:03 But still, it's like, I'm going to find out the answer now to all this Clint Eastwood
24:06 stuff and I get to set.
24:08 And my goal most of the time is like, just don't get fired.
24:11 That's like my main goal.
24:12 >> I'm amazed by Clint Eastwood.
24:14 He is what, 93 and still directing?
24:17 >> Still directing.
24:18 There's an image that's released.
24:20 >> Still has his marbles, still has his senses, still in great shape.
24:24 I mean, what did he do right?
24:26 >> Everything, apparently.
24:28 So yeah, I get to that set and we're getting ready to shoot and I'm like wondering, is
24:32 he going to talk to me?
24:33 And he just comes over and he goes, start whenever you're ready and walks away.
24:38 No action.
24:39 I'm looking at the other actor like, do we just, should we just go?
24:43 You just do the scene and that's it.
24:45 One and done.
24:47 One take, move on.
24:48 >> Now, you already got it like the scuba guy, right?
24:51 >> Yes, I was one of the guy, when the plane first went in, there was one guy in particular
24:56 who really got to some of the passengers quickly.
25:00 And I think I was at a point where I think he saved a lot of people.
25:02 >> I mean, the thing about that day, I remember that day, that everyone lived, everyone survived.
25:10 A plane getting, a plane essentially crashing into the Hudson River and not one person died.
25:16 Everyone survived.
25:17 I don't think there was, other than a few bumps and bruises, there were like no injuries.
25:22 >> Something cool from that too.
25:23 I mean, obviously like they did a lot of that stuff in the Hudson River actually, but some
25:27 of it we cheated on a water tank lot at Universal Studios, which was also the tank that they
25:33 shot some of Jaws with, like the pickup shots of Jaws.
25:37 So it was kind of creepy to be in that water tank like, man, this is where like Spielberg
25:40 was with like the pants.
25:41 Kind of surreal.
25:42 Yeah, that was, I tell this to people all the time.
25:46 I feel like I snuck in a club and at any moment, the bouncers are going to shine the light
25:51 on me and kick me out.
25:52 And you were in, what was that?
25:55 Lone Survivor.
25:56 >> Lone Survivor.
25:57 Yeah, man, that was a really good one, man.
26:03 That was obviously a real story about, you know, Mike Murphy and everything that happened
26:10 there.
26:11 And that was a weird one because I was doing that at the same time I was doing this other
26:15 movie called Las Vegas, which was like this kind of like senior citizen hangover with
26:20 De Niro.
26:21 >> Morgan Freeman I think was in that.
26:23 >> So I'm on that set and everybody's happy.
26:26 We're making a comedy.
26:27 We got all these old legends and I'm happy.
26:30 Then I take a plane to New Mexico to start Lone Survivor and everyone's got beards and
26:35 is super intense.
26:36 And I come in all, you know, movie comedy ready and I get all bummed out.
26:42 I fly back to Vegas.
26:44 I got to be comedy guy and I'm all like, fucking life.
26:48 You know, so that was an interesting time, man.
26:51 And humbling, too, because, you know, you get your little actor chair and they put your
26:55 name on it.
26:56 I wanted one photo for myself and I wanted my chair next to De Niro, Morgan Freeman,
27:03 Michael Douglas.
27:04 I just put my name in it.
27:05 You can obviously like pick the thing that doesn't belong on this list.
27:08 It's me.
27:09 It's very easy.
27:10 So I'm arranging the chairs and I go get my chair and props department does the names
27:16 and God bless the props department.
27:18 They spelled my name so poorly.
27:21 You know, Jerry Ferrara, that shit was Jerry Ferrara, like it was E-R-A-R-E-R-A, like every
27:29 vowel I'm like, wow, did they cast the wrong person?
27:34 So I got that picture, though.
27:36 Are you working on anything now or soon?
27:41 So I think, you know, things are sort of getting back to normal since, you know, we have the
27:46 writers and actors strike, which was brutal coming off of Covid.
27:51 I got a show over at Netflix that the deck kind of got reshuffled a little bit, but I
27:57 think that one's got a real shot to go.
27:59 And, you know, like anything else, you got to just keep throwing stuff against the wall
28:05 until something sticks.
28:06 The process is so long and you only really see the movie or the show, but like it's painstaking
28:12 getting anything made.
28:14 It's life imitating art.
28:17 Yes.
28:18 I mean, the entourage.
28:19 Yes.
28:20 The seasons where...
28:21 Medellin, trying to get Medellin.
28:22 Medellin, that was...
28:23 I just always thought it was funny that there was like this undertone of, there's a good
28:30 chance Vincent Chase might suck as an actor.
28:33 Like he might just not be good.
28:35 I don't know, that always made me laugh.
28:38 Medellin with, who was the director?
28:41 Billy Walsh.
28:42 Yeah, Billy Walsh.
28:43 See, that's my favorite character.
28:44 The guy...
28:45 Was nuts.
28:46 I just love to watch do his thing.
28:49 Obviously Piven was great, but Reese Coireau who played Billy Walsh, that dude was just
28:54 electric, man.
28:55 Billy Walsh was nuts.
28:57 Never knew what he was going to do or what he was going to say.
29:00 Greg, you got to bring up King of Queens for Mike.
29:05 Oh, yes.
29:06 One of our, the guy who we work with, another guy just like Jenks, Mikey, Mikey Betts.
29:12 Yeah.
29:13 His favorite show is King of Queens.
29:15 Good show.
29:16 Great show.
29:17 I understand that was your debut.
29:19 Was that on King of Queens?
29:21 It was 100% my debut.
29:25 Twenty years old, still wasn't even in the Screen Actors Guild and had an audition for
29:31 King of Queens, got it.
29:33 I mean, I was so fresh to LA, I didn't even have a car at that point.
29:36 And if you don't have a car in LA, it's like being on the moon without oxygen.
29:40 Like you're not going to survive.
29:42 So I busted to Sony to shoot that.
29:47 And again, that was my early adoption of, hey, let's not get fired here.
29:51 Let's get through this.
29:53 And I think I got paid like six grand and I pulled a half-baked.
29:56 I walked into my job at Boston Market and I cursed every, I was like, fuck you, fuck
30:00 you, fuck you.
30:01 I quit.
30:02 I made it.
30:03 Boston Market, oof.
30:04 Yeah.
30:05 And I lived off that six grand for a few months and then I went and got my job back at the
30:09 restaurant.
30:10 So didn't last all that long.
30:12 Boston Market, oof.
30:13 Wow.
30:14 That's how I started getting up there in weight because I would go back where they had the
30:19 sides and I would mix the mashed potatoes and the cream spinach and all that stuff and
30:22 start eating.
30:23 And I put on, just from working there in general, I put on about 45 pounds in a year.
30:31 I've seen that you've lost a significant amount of weight.
30:36 Yeah.
30:38 60 pounds, but I'm up a few since having kids.
30:42 But yeah, I, you know, I'm obviously not a tall guy myself and I got up to about 205
30:49 and I just started also feeling really terrible and just made some changes.
30:55 That's why too, I love so much what you're doing, man.
30:58 Like I know how real it is what you're doing and I don't even know you that well and I'm
31:04 just really, really happy for you.
31:05 Yeah.
31:06 So, my heaviest was 500.
31:10 I had MRSA, which dropped me, I lost about a good 75 pounds with MRSA.
31:19 Then I started losing weight actively around 2019.
31:23 The pandemic caused me to shoot up back over 400.
31:26 Yeah, that must have been really hard.
31:29 Yep.
31:30 Then after that, it was a fluctuation.
31:34 I was 380 last August, now I'm getting close to 330.
31:40 I've never, I haven't been down to 330 in over 20 years.
31:44 And do you, not only do you look great, but you must feel night and day difference, obviously,
31:51 right?
31:52 There are hills I walked that I couldn't have walked three months ago, let alone six months
31:57 ago.
31:58 Look, I rank, I only lost, I lost 60 and I rank that as one of my greatest accomplishments
32:06 of my life because the shit was hard, really, really hard.
32:10 So what you're doing is just incredible and inspiring and that's why we tried to work
32:19 this walkout for a little bit because I'm always in and out of New York and I'm like,
32:22 the next time on there, I don't care, we're doing it now, it's almost midnight.
32:25 I don't care what time it is, if you're willing to do it, I want to take the walk.
32:31 See that doesn't sleep in, especially after a Knicks win where...
32:37 It's definitely a little tougher to go to sleep after a rare Knicks playoff win, which
32:41 we haven't seen too often.
32:42 I mean, seventh having you after Knicks games is insane.
32:45 Yeah, I'm the idiot who thought it would be a good idea to take seventh on the way to
32:50 meet you at headquarters.
32:51 Like, yeah, let's take seven and I was just caught up in the chaos, but I got to say,
32:56 I kind of loved it.
32:57 It wasn't that bad, man.
32:59 I kind of wanted to jump out of the car and just get involved, but well, keep it up, man.
33:06 And anytime, yeah, I mean, I hope we get to do this again.
33:09 Yeah, well, thanks.
33:11 When you're on number 500 and whatever, you know, it's awesome.
33:17 Thanks a lot and it was a pleasure walking with you.
33:20 Good luck, hopefully you get some of your series get picked up and get some good rolls
33:25 and thank you.
33:26 Thanks again.
33:27 Always, brother, always.
33:28 You keep up what you're doing.
33:29 This is awesome.
33:30 Oh, thanks.
33:31 All right.
33:32 And by the way, wait, wait, wait.
33:34 This is a real...
33:35 This is a gift.
33:36 I know what these are going for.
33:38 This is a gift.
33:39 That's a great shirt.
33:41 This is a hookup.
33:42 So while I'm rocking this, we know how much this stuff's going for.
33:45 This is a gift, man.
33:46 Thank you.
33:47 Thanks again.
33:48 All right, man.
33:48 (upbeat music)
33:50 [MUSIC PLAYING]
