00:00 I've lived in Preston my entire life but I've never been up Longridge Fell.
00:07 We parked up for free in Old Clitheroe Road in Dutton and then immediately
00:11 crossed the road where the very gentle ascent began.
00:16 From the route that we took it did become rockier and the paths became narrower and we went
00:20 through a little bit of woodland before we hit the summit.
00:25 Here at the trig point you're 350 metres above sea level with views across to
00:35 Chipping, Beacon Fell, Parlick, Winter Hill, Clitheroe, the Yorkshire Dales and on a
00:40 clear day it's even been said that you can see the Lake District.
00:50 The route down took us through some wooded areas and I've got to say that there's some heavy
00:56 deforestation or some works that are happening because there's a lot of trees
00:59 down that are blocking the way which did cause some problems.
01:03 Out of the woodland then we hit another wide but quite rocky path with again a lot of
01:09 evidence of deforestation or forestry management happening.
01:13 We then took a route off downhill through quite rocky areas so I would suggest wearing
01:18 appropriate footwear back out onto the road to the car.
01:22 In total it was about three and a half miles.
01:25 It wasn't particularly strenuous but I would make sure you've got plenty of water, some
01:30 sun cream and you take a picnic because it's really beautiful.
