00:00 It's not a bad area. It needs a lot of money pumping in with social housing.
00:05 It's got a huge social housing crisis at the moment, the whole of England has a social housing crisis at the moment.
00:11 And just the litter picking is terrible, a lot of the garbage men,
00:16 they literally don't pick anything up each and every week and it makes it look
00:20 trampled, it just makes it look bad.
00:22 There's a lot in Bartley Green that a lot of people sort of tend to want and need.
00:26 We've got a lot of green spaces here as well.
00:29 Yeah, it's really good.
00:31 I'm not local. I came up from Portsmouth
00:34 28 years ago to Birmingham, but I met a local lass and yeah,
00:39 married, settled down and been happy in our house for the last, as I say, nearly 24 years now.
00:45 Yeah, this working area is alright. Not bad, I'm living nearly 1988 in here.
00:50 And I've got no problem.
00:53 The best thing about the area is there is lots of parks for your children to go to.
00:57 Still, you know, even if you live in the high-rise blocks around here,
01:00 there's still plenty of parks and green spaces for the kids.
01:03 But again, the worst thing is the social housing.
01:06 There's nowhere for people to live anymore.
01:09 The amount of green spaces we've got here in Bartley Green I think is quite nice.
01:12 The reservoir, a lot of woodland area, which we've got is quite nice to walk around.
01:16 I find that the best thing. Worst thing is perhaps how long it can take you to get into the city centre.
01:21 It's a nice,
01:23 pleasant, reasonably quiet area.
01:26 Plenty of greenery, reasonably flat to walk around because I like walking.
01:30 And yeah, this is reasonably nice.
01:33 Worst thing, it's a distance from anywhere.
01:38 Because I don't drive, the wife does, so I do a lot of walking and it's, you know,
01:45 it's sort of an hour's walk to Harbour and three quarters of an hour to Northfield, an hour to Blackheath
01:51 to go anywhere, shopping or whatever. It's a long walk.
01:55 So...
