Transcript
00:00 The Crimline Cool Smashers proved that they are the ones to beat the Chocomucho Flying Titans in the Philippine Volleyball League
00:08 and get the 8th title.
00:10 That's what Bernadette Sinoy has to say.
00:12 In front of 23,162 PBL fans,
00:23 the Crimline Cool Smashers did not lose their lead in the Game 2 Finals of the 2024 PBL All-Filipino Conference
00:31 against the sister team of the Chocomucho Flying Titans.
00:34 The game match ended in 5 sets between the two teams
00:38 where the Titans won the first set with a score of 25-20.
00:42 The Smashers immediately reversed the lead in the second set of 20-25
00:47 but the Titans again took the lead in the third set with a score of 25-22.
00:52 In the fourth and last set, the two teams were more active in their back-backing
00:56 without expecting to lose each score to the opponent.
00:59 Here, the Smashers stars who were intended to launch were laughing
01:02 Bernadette Pons, Tots Carlos, and Kyle Negrito
01:06 to get the 8th PBL title of the Crimline.
01:09 The game ended in a score of 3-2.
01:11 We saw the result that whoever you pass to, you will get it.
01:16 So I think we got our goal today.
01:20 At the end of the league, the final MVP was the 26-year-old outside hitter, Gemma Galanza
01:27 after losing 20 points from 20 attacks with 16 excellent receptions.
01:33 It's not easy. It's really hard.
01:35 Sometimes we wake up in the morning and we're like, "Are we four?"
01:40 We're still vibrating, "Are we going to book?"
01:42 Because it's just a little bit, our goal will be lost.
01:48 Team Captain Aliza Valdez admitted that it was not an easy challenge that they went through this season.
01:54 She will remember the elimination round of the three-time Smashers
01:58 and the fact that she almost didn't make it to the semifinal round.
02:02 For Valdez, it was a hard time for each of them and the determination to win the league.
02:07 Based on our standings, probably this was the hardest, most challenging,
02:13 unpredictable season for the Crimline Cool Smashers.
02:17 But I guess this is also the season that we prove to our team, to ourselves, to the coaches,
02:23 and the whole management that our family will stay and stick together despite everything.
02:30 All-Filipino Conference MVP Brooke Bansickel also admitted that in her first-ever PBL season,
02:37 she lost 293 points from 242 attacks.
02:43 Cicirondina and Gemma Galanza were the best outside hitters,
02:47 while Isa Pontillas, the best opposite hitter, was in the Angels.
02:50 Kyle Negrito also won his first PBL Best Setter Award
02:54 while Spanag and Maddy Madiag were the ones who won the Best Middle Blockers
02:59 and Ponce as the Best Libero.
03:01 Bernadette Tinoy, for Pambansang TV in the new Philippines.
