00:00 And in fact I talked to a lot of other people said I wish my governor had thought of that
00:03 first.
00:04 No, no, this is New York.
00:05 We like to be first.
00:06 With all due respect to people from other states.
00:09 It's sort of our attitude.
00:11 We will be the best.
00:12 We will be the first.
00:13 And I want others to follow.
00:15 Because right now we have young black kids growing up in the Bronx who don't even know
00:20 what the word computer is.
00:23 They don't know.
00:24 They don't know these things.
00:25 And I want the world to open up to all of them because when you have their diverse voices
00:31 innovating solutions through technology, then you're really addressing society's broader
00:37 challenges.
00:39 I've created this governance board, this advisory committee.
00:44 Our CEO is Arvind Krishna who is the CEO of IBM, very well established legacy industry.
00:51 The co-chair is Tameka Barrett who is the CEO of Girls Who Code.
00:58 Why did I do that?
00:59 Because I want all those young girls to know that there's a place for them in this emerging
01:04 technology.
01:05 So this is how we make it more equitable.
01:07 Make AI equitable for all in the state of New York.
01:11 And I want other states to follow that.
01:13 That's just the larger framework.
01:15 Got it through the legislature.
01:16 Can't always do that very easily.
01:17 But it's a huge commitment.
01:19 But that supercomputer is being built, and we're going to get it done.
