00:00Hello it's Martin Dempster the Scotsman Golf Correspondent here coming to you from the Renaissance
00:07Club a media day for the Genesis Scottish Open later in the year and I have to say probably
00:15one of the best days I've experienced here on the East Lothian coast absolutely stunning
00:21hardly a breath of wind which people will know is very rare here and once again we're
00:28set for a fantastic event a really serious event now of course co-sanctioned with the PGA Tour
00:35with the defending champion set to be Rory McIlroy after his amazing birdie birdie finish
00:42last year to pit Bob McIntyre but McIntyre of course he's going to be back in the field
00:48he'll be determined to try and go one better one of the best weeks of his life last year
00:54when he fed off the crowd and came close to winning on home soil which is something he's
00:59determined to do in his career. Other big names already confirmed for the event include Justin
01:05Thomas, Matt Fitzpatrick, Tommy Fleetwood, Tom Kim the Korean who came close to winning this
01:14two years ago. As I say this is a it's a great venue this stunning location and if the players
01:24get a day like this or a week like this or they're in for a treat though at the same time
01:30we want a little bit wind because that's what makes Lynx Golf of course. I know some people
01:37sort of question why the event keeps coming back here but the the golf course keeps getting better
01:43they're investing all the time and also the players love being on site here it's a perfect
01:49pre-open week so they like coming back here the event's been here since 2019 and it'll be here
01:56for a couple years yet at least so keep up to date with anything to do with the Genesis
