00:00 I'm definitely not going to sit.
00:02 I'm going to have to figure it out.
00:04 I'm going to be levitating there in that room,
00:06 but it's worth it.
00:08 Hey, hello, it's Tyler. Get ready with me.
00:15 For the Met Gala.
00:17 Every year when the Met Gala happens,
00:27 me and my mother, we watch the TV and we rate everyone's outfits.
00:31 Literally like every single year.
00:33 So just me being now at the Met, attending it,
00:36 I know my mother's probably going to be watching and judging the dresses,
00:39 and she'll get to judge mine this year.
00:41 So that's cool. I'm very excited.
00:43 I'm so excited. I've been dreaming about this day for years and years and years.
00:47 So it's finally the day.
00:49 The theme was scary.
00:53 But after we got into researching and finding out what the theme really meant,
00:57 it became easier to see and envision what we wanted to do.
01:00 We just knew we wanted to do something special.
01:04 Like, yo, we were on phone calls every other day.
01:07 Trying to figure out what?
01:09 How are we going to chow these people?
01:11 The concept is time, but not in a literal way.
01:14 We're playing with hourglass, sand, sands of time.
01:18 There's a lot of things that we're trying to do for the first time,
01:20 like having Pat on makeup, body makeup, haircut, singed.
01:25 We're trying to do a lot of special things for this moment.
01:28 Run it up!
01:30 Before big events, I usually pray all the time.
01:37 I like to just be calm and treat it like a normal day.
01:40 Because if I make it seem like, "Oh, it's a whole big deal," then I get nervous.
01:44 The whole Met Gala, this is a crazy event.
01:47 I've always wanted to be invited.
01:49 We had a few ideas with hair, but I don't know.
01:52 I feel like we kind of landed on this hairstyle naturally.
01:55 It just came to us and we knew, "Hey, we have to go short."
01:59 For this look, we have to go short.
02:01 This is the only way you eat caviar, huh?
02:05 Oh, yes.
02:06 Yeah?
02:10 I will eat it.
02:13 Yeah?
02:19 Pretty saucy.
02:20 I don't know.
02:22 She's inspired by the sand.
02:28 I always look at the sand as being gold.
02:31 So, we can use a little bit of that to just kind of accent and give a nice wing, a nice lift.
02:36 She just wants that really snatched look.
02:38 You want to be snatched.
02:39 Yes, always snatched.
02:40 We got some photos.
02:42 We had one original look, which was even more natural.
02:45 She kind of just said, "You know what? More snatched."
02:47 That's what we're doing.
02:48 Initially, we have Pat McGrath doing the makeup.
02:51 I was like, "There's no way we're just going to do a simple face.
02:54 We have to play around."
02:56 Pat's team came with this...
02:58 Oh, where's Tato San?
02:59 This whole sand, glistening vibe.
03:02 Look at this.
03:03 Who even thinks of this?
03:04 Yeah, so I'm so excited to work with Pat.
03:07 What the heck?
03:08 I love, love, love, love her.
03:10 Yeah, they're killing the makeup, as you can see.
03:13 Good morning.
03:15 Oh, I'm so happy we're here today.
03:17 Good morning.
03:19 [Music]
03:27 When I get ready, I do listen to my own music.
03:30 I'm not over it yet.
03:31 I listen to it almost every day still.
03:33 "Jump," next single.
03:35 It's crazy.
03:36 We shot a video in South Africa just before we came here for the Mets.
03:40 I'm so excited for that video, guys.
03:42 My word.
03:43 [Music]
03:46 I'm looking forward to finding out what happens inside,
03:48 because I heard no one knows, really, unless you've been invited.
03:51 So let's see what happens inside the Met.
03:55 I found out that I have to be alone, and oh, my gosh,
03:57 that already stressed me out, because, hey.
04:00 [Music]
04:05 Actually, Olivier and the Balmain team came up with this incredible new technique
04:10 of a way to turn real grains of sand into, like, an actual fabric.
04:15 And so when I saw that, I was just completely sold.
04:19 I just thought it was, like, the perfect way to do our first Met
04:22 with something so innovative and very, very Thaila as well.
04:26 [Music]
04:40 Have you ever had this many people working on you at once?
04:43 Yes.
04:44 Yeah, but this is kind of crazy.
04:46 Don't let me hold you.
04:50 This is crazy.
04:51 If you guys can see behind this camera, there's gang people.
04:55 They're holding light cameras.
04:58 [Music]
05:09 I'm so excited.
05:10 I can't wait for people to see it.
05:12 I just want to get there and serve.
05:17 Is that your pose?
05:18 Yeah, that's my pose.
05:20 [Music]
05:26 Just a few finishing touches.
05:29 I love this sand.
05:31 [Music]
05:37 It feels amazing, guys.
05:39 I'm excited to just get out there.
05:40 Come on, let's go, guys.
05:42 Let's go.
05:44 Bye-bye.
05:45 Thank you guys for watching.
05:46 Now I'm on my way to the Met.
05:49 Bye.
05:50 [Music]
