00:00Welcome to Mojo Plays, today we're going to be taking a look at the 20 best Nintendo
00:13Switch games to enjoy right now on your favorite beloved hybrid system.
00:25Before we begin, we publish new content all week long, so be sure to subscribe and ring
00:29the bell to be notified about our latest videos.
00:35Super Mario Bros. Wonder
00:44Nintendo really knows a thing or two about providing new experiences and keeping things
00:48fresh with their games.
00:49This point is extremely evident in Super Mario Bros. Wonder, a game that exudes whimsy and
00:54delight around every color-soaked corner.
00:57You might think another 2D Mario game would just be repetitive or stale, but Wonder proves
01:02that Nintendo always has another ace up its sleeve.
01:13The game adds in just enough spice and flair, this time around in the form of the highly
01:17playable new levels, a badge system, the wonder flower and seeds, and heck, even transforming
01:23into a pummeling elephant to charge through enemies.
01:26There's just so much joy in this game, especially when platforming across its runtime with a
01:30co-op pal in tow.
01:37Metroid Dread
01:46Metroid Dread might just be the pinnacle Metroidvania experience.
01:49From developer MercurySteam, Dread shines a new light on Samus, one that ensures this
01:54game feels completely brand new and inventive while still paying homage to older titles
01:59in the series.
02:00Deep, robust, and extensive are the words that come to mind when playing through Dread.
02:05From the meticulously designed areas, to the plethora of exciting upgrades for Samus, to
02:09the harrowing new stalking enemies such as the E.M.M.I. robots.
02:21With brisk pacing and near-constant action and fun exploration, Metroid Dread is a real
02:26treat and deserves a place in your Switch collection.
02:36Kirby and the Forgotten Land
02:47Despite the relentless pace that Nintendo seems to push out Kirby games, Kirby and the
02:51Forgotten Land came out swinging and truly knocked it out of the park in all regards.
02:56The Forgotten Land does for Kirby what Super Mario Odyssey did for Mario, namely take a
03:00beloved series and character and completely transform the experience and people's expectations
03:05of a 3D platforming adventure.
03:07Yeah, sure, it's super bizarre to see Kirby suck up a car or a vending machine, but when
03:21new gameplay elements such as these, in tandem with strong world and level design, bring
03:26such a big ol' smile to your face, it all just comes together splendidly.
03:31Kirby and the Forgotten Land will surely hoover up a good chunk of your gaming time
03:34on Switch.
03:42The Legend of Zelda Link's Awakening
03:53Nintendo really loves cranking out the remakes and remasters, but as is generally the case,
03:58they do it so well that no one seems to mind.
04:02Take Link's Awakening for example, this remake of a beloved Zelda game from the Game Boy
04:05truly feels like a new game, completely rebuilt from the ground up with new content, a gorgeous
04:10and endearing art style, excellent puzzles and dungeons, and a lengthy adventure that
04:15will keep you hooked all through its runtime.
04:17Even for those fans who played the original game, this remake managed to completely exceed
04:21expectations while bringing newcomers to the game who never had the privilege to play the
04:26older title.
04:27There's just a palpable sense of playfulness all throughout Link's journey on Koholint
04:31Island.
04:32And yes, worry not, the puzzles and dungeons are still just as devious as you remember
04:37them.
04:38But the game always pushes you forward with some tantalizing reward, item, or incentive
04:42so you never really get bored.
04:44Don't sleep on this one, it's a real gem.
04:55Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze
05:05Do you thoroughly love the Donkey Kong Country games from the Super Nintendo days?
05:09Well, if so, and if you happen to miss the game on the Wii U, then do yourself a favor
05:14and pick up a copy of Tropical Freeze on the Switch, you won't regret it.
05:17Easily one of the best 2D slash 2.5D platformers on the hybrid console, Tropical Freeze is
05:23both challenging and deeply engaging.
05:26Exploring each and every stage while collecting bananas, puzzle pieces, and Kong letters while
05:30fending off the snow mad goons is just so much fun.
05:33Plus, the crazy platforming madcaps that you can get up to with each of the various playable
05:37Kongs never gets old.
05:39Don't get too comfortable, however, the boss fights in this game will truly test your
05:43Kong skills.
05:44Especially you, Giant Viking Owl from Mountaintop Tussle, you sir are a real doozy.
05:58Mario Party Superstars
06:07It's party time, baby!
06:08The uber long-running Mario Party franchise has certainly had its fair share of ups and
06:12downs like any good roller coaster.
06:15Fortunately, for Switch fans, Superstars is the real deal, mostly because it pays loving
06:19homage to the original Nintendo 64 games with high-quality remakes of game boards such as
06:24Woody Woods, Yoshi's Tropical Island, and my personal and fan-favorite Horrorland.
06:36While the RNG elements of Mario Party certainly aren't to everyone's tastes, there's
06:40no denying that plopping down on a couch together to duke it out with Mario and pals
06:44isn't an utter blast each and every time.
06:48Superstars is the pinnacle party game on the Switch, so get your thumbs ready for some
06:52minigame goodness.
07:01Splatoon 3
07:11How the heck do you follow up the incredible success of Nintendo's third-person ink-em-up
07:15Splatoon 2?
07:16Well, take everything that made that game so darn fun and engaging, and up the ante
07:21with even more ink-splashing weapons, game-changing items, and a bevy of single-player modes to
07:25keep things fresh throughout.
07:27The short and frenetic multiplayer matches never get stale, since the game is always
07:31throwing new rewards and challenges your way.
07:34And if for some reason you get tired of the online multiplayer shenanigans, simply hop
07:38or swim your way over to modes such as Salmon Run, Side Order, and the story mode Return
07:43of the Mammalians.
07:51Pokemon Legends Arceus
08:01The Pokemon Company and Game Freak took a big bet on Legends Arceus, effectively shifting
08:06away from the tried-and-true yet arguably stale formula of many Pokemon games, into
08:11a vast, open, more RPG-centric world.
08:14Fortunately, this bet paid off, like big time.
08:17Arceus is easily one of the very best Pokemon games out there.
08:20Pokemon fans jumped at the chance to explore an open world teeming with Pokemon to catch
08:24in battle.
08:25Sure, the visuals might be lacking somewhat in this release, however the sheer fun factor
08:30Arceus affords players more than makes up for its visual shortcomings.
08:34Add in a bunch of new regional Pokemon, fun ways to traverse the world, and plenty of
08:38exciting battles, and this is one Pokemon game that will stay on top for the long haul.
08:48Xenoblade Chronicles 3
09:01Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is a gargantuan game, a true behemoth in the RPG space.
09:07One that sees you teaming up with Noah and his adventurous pals as they explore vast
09:11open spaces, taking part in over-the-top battles, discovering all manner of secret goodies,
09:16and pushing along a narrative about nations at war, the power of friendship, sacrifice,
09:21and untold mysteries.
09:23Multiple party members can take part in battles, with each character offering different weapon
09:27skills, abilities, and movement options, on top of classes themselves having the option
09:32to actually be swapped out.
09:33It's a meaty and robust game that will keep you glued to your Switch for hundreds of hours.
09:46Princess Peach Showtime
09:54While certainly being marketed to a younger audience, Princess Peach's latest provides
09:58all the Nintendo charm and whimsy that you would expect from the company.
10:02This time around, Princess Peach is in the spotlight, taking center stage with a suite
10:06of unique and dazzling transformations.
10:08With a mysterious theater setting as the backdrop, the beloved princess is tasked with saving
10:12the theater from the dastardly Grape and the Sour Bunch.
10:16Along with her ally, Stella, Peach will transform into the likes of a figure skater, a dashing
10:20thief, a mermaid, and even a sword fighter, with each transformation acting as a new stage,
10:25offering up a new way for players to engage with the experience.
10:28Sure, the game is very simple and won't provide too much challenge, but it's a purely
10:33fun and engaging adventure that will surely stick a big ol' smile on your face from
10:37beginning to intermission to curtain call.
10:48Mario Plus Rabbids Sparks of Hope
10:56Building off of what made Kingdom Battle an enjoyable spin-off Mario game, Sparks of Hope
11:01once again sees Mario and pals team up with the quirky Rabbids as they seek to take down
11:06a new threat, that of Cursa and the Dark Mess Energy.
11:11What Kingdom Battle did with turning a Mario-adjacent game into a strategy game was nothing short
11:16of brilliant, and here, Sparks of Hope takes each aspect of its predecessor and refines
11:22them into a comedic, polished, flexible, and highly playful strategy experience.
11:28The biggest change this time around is the ability to freely move your character in a
11:31designated zone, as opposed to the grid-based system of Kingdom Battle.
11:36This, in combination with more goofy writing, a cast of fun characters, plenty of new locales
11:42to explore, and new abilities from the Lumas, makes Sparks of Hope an easy recommendation
11:48on the Switch.
11:53Super Mario 3D World Plus Bowser's Fury
12:02There's simply no denying that Nintendo has thoroughly enjoyed bringing a host of Wii
12:07U titles to Nintendo Switch, since, well, you know, no one played the Wii U.
12:13Enter Super Mario 3D World Plus Bowser's Fury, a combo game that features an upgraded
12:19version of the 2013 Wii U 3D platformer Super Mario 3D World, as well as Bowser's Fury,
12:26a completely new 3D platforming Mario game with open-world elements and a persistent
12:32dynamic boss in the form of a giant Bowser.
12:36For those of us that sadly didn't get to play 3D World the first time around, the sheer
12:40joy of experiencing this top-notch platformer on the Switch was sublime, especially in co-op.
12:47Then, diving into Bowser's Fury, you are treated to some more masterclass platforming,
12:52as Mario searches for shines, collects fun power-ups, bashes Bowser over and over again,
12:58and even transforms as a gargantuan version of Cat Mario.
13:03Good times had by all.
13:10Luigi's Mansion 3
13:17Gosh darn it, Luigi deserves so many more exclusive game experiences if Luigi's Mansion
13:223 is anything to go by.
13:25While the OG GameCube Luigi's Mansion and the Nintendo 3DS's Dark Moon are certainly
13:30loved by many, it's Luigi's third outing in yet another spooky location that stands
13:36as one of the very best in the series.
13:39This time around, Mario and pals are conned into accepting a luxury hotel resort package
13:44deep in some picturesque, yet creepy mountains.
13:48Aptly named The Last Resort, this haunted hotel sees Mario and friends captured by King
13:54Boo, with no one but Luigi and Polterpup to save the day.
13:58The game sets a truly fantastic stage, as you explore a plethora of hotel floors, with
14:04each one acting as a distinct zone, brimming with secrets and goodies, oh, and plenty of
14:10scares for our duo.
14:12The same ghost-vacuuming gameplay is back, but this time around players are also introduced
14:17to Gooigi, a literal green goo version of Luigi that makes for some unique and challenging
14:24puzzles.
14:31Fire Emblem Three Houses
14:38The uber-long-running tactical role-playing franchise maintains its place in the genre
14:44with this juggernaut.
14:46In Three Houses, you are tasked to play as a group of unique characters that include
14:49the likes of Byleth, Edelgard, Dimitri, Hilda, and so, so many more.
14:55As you might have gleaned from the moniker, this game's plot surrounds around three
14:59distinct nations, namely the Adresin Empire, the Holy Kingdom, and the Lycaester Alliance,
15:05all situated on the continent of Fodlan.
15:08The deep and immersive, strategically tactical gameplay is a massive focus, with, once again,
15:13thoughtful turn-based battles.
15:15However, it's between these challenging battles where things really get interesting,
15:20as you can flesh out the storyline and character arcs with classes, side activities, and field
15:25exercises, plus so, so much more.
15:32Animal Crossing New Horizons
15:39For pure distilled coziness and charm, look no further than Animal Crossing's latest
15:45offering.
15:46This series, which started life back on the GameCube, has come a long way, with New Horizons
15:51offering players an utterly intoxicating life-sim game to get sucked into for the long haul.
15:57As long as you are okay with taking things day by day, quite literally, New Horizons
16:01provides players with an island getaway package from none other than Tom Nook himself.
16:08Spend your time here befriending villagers, setting up shops and museums, collecting bugs,
16:13fish, and materials, and creating and crafting the island paradise of your dreams.
16:19The game released at a perfect time where people had to hunker down, which led to returning
16:23Animal Crossing fans, and new players alike, hopping into a game that wants you to take
16:29your time, whether you like that slow burn or not.
16:32So go out there and customize your home, make friends with a host of quirky, super duper
16:38awesome cute animal pals, and tend to your island to your heart's content.
16:48Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
16:55I mean, come on, it's freaking Mario Kart, of course it's gonna be here.
17:00Yes, I know, it's just technically another Wii U game brought to the Switch, however,
17:05there's simply no denying that there's just so much content jam-packed into this
17:10deluxe version.
17:12Boatloads of characters, tracks, customization options, and more are constantly at your fingertips.
17:18Plus, even people that are casual gamers, or those that don't even play games at all,
17:22they at least know about Mario Kart.
17:25This is one of the greatest kart racers, full stop, and there's no better platform to
17:30experience it on than the Switch.
17:37Super Smash Bros Ultimate
17:45Super Smash Bros has come a long way since its humble origins back on the Nintendo 64.
17:51Ultimate is just that, the ultimate definitive version of the venerable franchise to date.
17:57Even half a decade after its release on Switch, fans are still pouring hundreds of hours into
18:03this game, whether it's pummeling opponents with friends, or competing in the myriad tournaments
18:08around the globe.
18:09If for some reason you aren't familiar with Super Smash Bros Ultimate, it's essentially
18:14a solo or multiplayer brawler game featuring dozens upon dozens of Nintendo characters
18:20and third-party mascots.
18:22Fast, fluid, challenging, and utterly enjoyable, Ultimate deserves your time and attention.
18:33Metroid Prime Remastered
18:41Nintendo took quite the gamble moving a once-beloved 2D series into a first-person perspective
18:47way back in the day on the GameCube.
18:49Well, it pretty much universally paid off since fans loved this shift.
18:54Enter 2023, Nintendo's shadow-dropped Metroid Prime Remastered from Retro Studios.
19:00To say it was a home run would be quite the understatement.
19:04This remaster of the beloved first Prime game is actually more akin to a full-on remake
19:09given how much love and attention was poured into every sci-fi crevice nook and cranny.
19:15If you missed out on the OG Metroid Prime, then it's high time you check out this top-notch
19:20remaster.
19:26Super Mario Odyssey
19:28Boy howdy, Odyssey is a firecracker of a game, one that outshines and outpaces every
19:44other 3D platformer on the market.
19:46Yes, it's that darn good, and needs to be played and experienced right away.
19:51Odyssey features a unique gameplay mechanic where Mario and his sentient hat Cappy can
19:57possess er, sorry, I mean capture random enemies and objects alike to solve puzzles.
20:03You can even capture and become a sentient hunk of meat.
20:06Just because, you know, why not?
20:08Silliness aside, the sheer platforming prowess on display in Odyssey is something to behold,
20:13especially since Nintendo opted for larger, open-zone worlds to explore to your heart's
20:19content.
20:20My goodness, the music in this game is the thing of auditory dreams.
20:28The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom
20:37The follow-up to the critically acclaimed and universally beloved Breath of the Wild
20:42is a masterclass of a game.
20:44Instead of just resting on its laurels, Tears of the Kingdom completely reinvents the wheel,
20:49sometimes quite literally, with a brand new fusion system where almost anything can be
20:54merged together to create something thrilling and exciting to test out.
20:58From crazy weapons, to vehicles, to bizarre concoctions that can be used to solve the
21:03game's many puzzles and shrines, Tears of the Kingdom perfectly blends creativity, player
21:09agency, nuance, and fun into a seamless package.
21:13And if all that wasn't enough, there's also a whole sky section to explore and an
21:17underground world to delve into, on top of the expansive, base-level Hyrule regions.
21:24Nintendo once again proves why they are the best at making pure, distilled enjoyment.
21:34Do you agree with our picks?
