00:03 - The American League,
00:04 I think it's still very much up for grabs.
00:05 At the top of that board right now is Colton Couser.
00:08 Now he opened up at plus 5,000.
00:10 He's been great,
00:11 but he's cooled off a little bit recently.
00:13 He's up to plus 175,
00:15 but it is just April.
00:16 And we saw this last year.
00:17 We saw other guys have hot Aprils
00:19 and go up the board for Rookie of the Year,
00:21 only to fall down after a tough month or two.
00:25 James Altman, if you recall last year,
00:28 a perfect example, right?
00:29 The guy that had the tour in April,
00:31 the guy that had maybe too many strikeouts in his game.
00:34 He was the darling in this award season
00:36 for naturally Rookie of the Year in April and May.
00:39 And then it all fell apart.
00:41 So I'm not saying he's this year's James Altman,
00:44 but I'm saying he might be closer to that
00:46 than closer to the Rookie of the Year.
00:47 Your thoughts on Couser keeping this pace up
00:50 and being at the top of the board this time next month.
00:53 - No, you're right.
00:54 And we talked about it in an earlier segment too.
00:55 I just think there's just too many pieces going on
00:58 in Baltimore for anyone to really be able
01:00 to make sense of it.
01:01 So I wanna wait for the dust to settle.
01:03 And that's why I'm gonna look at some long shots.
01:05 There could be some names that aren't even up yet
01:08 that could take advantage of opportunity.
01:10 Anyone you have in mind?
01:12 - Yeah, there's two guys.
01:13 And if you wanna bet it, bet it soon,
01:15 because you're not gonna get numbers like this.
01:17 The opening numbers for both Paul Skeens
01:19 and Junior Caminero were lower than they are now,
01:22 which might seem crazy,
01:23 but that's because people were anticipating them
01:26 making the rosters opening day.
01:27 So Paul Skeens was a plus 700.
01:29 Right now he's a plus 1800.
01:30 You can get that in some spots.
01:32 What?
01:32 That's insane.
01:33 If Paul Skeens comes out there
01:34 and throws 115, 120 innings
01:36 and does anything close to what he's doing right now,
01:38 he might win this award.
01:39 And then Junior Caminero, again,
01:40 that's kind of the theme of the show today.
01:42 He's coming up.
01:43 Junior Caminero is going to hit right away.
01:45 He is going to be a very good player,
01:48 an all-star caliber player.
01:49 I've seen the guy play in person now a few times.
01:51 I'm telling you right now,
01:52 Junior Caminero is the goods, all right?
01:55 So you don't have to worry about this kid.
01:56 Even if he struggles for a week,
01:57 just patience, patience, patience.
02:00 But Caminero is another guy too.
02:01 You look at where the opening line was, plus 1400.
02:04 Now it's plus 2000.
02:06 Why?
02:07 Because he had that injury.
02:08 He didn't make the team out of spring training.
02:10 So Vegas had to adjust.
02:12 This is the time now,
02:13 if you missed out that window early on,
02:15 to buy back in on these two guys.
02:17 Because if for no other reason,
02:19 there's a chance if these guys have a red hot May and June,
02:23 those numbers shrink by a lot
02:25 and you can cash out,
02:26 even if you don't want to ride those bets to the end.
