00:03 This was not a Raider-esque type pick, I don't think.
00:06 >> No, I mean, I don't think it was a very good pick.
00:11 For the Raiders specifically, it would not have been the pick that I would have
00:15 made if I was on the clock.
00:16 I think there is a little bit of truth to what you just said,
00:19 that they maybe were not planning on taking him.
00:21 To me, they felt like the most natural destination for
00:24 Michael Penix or Bo Nix.
00:26 I mean, the Broncos and Bo Nix, I mean, it is kind of everything that
00:30 Sean Payton wants out of a quarterback.
00:31 He just wants a robot to throw screen passes.
00:34 But I mean, Michael Meyer was pretty good.
00:37 Michael Meyer was not, I mean, Michael Meyer was not great.
00:40 Michael Meyer is not a guy you're building your offense around.
00:43 But not, I would say, of the problems the Raiders roster has,
00:48 maybe not even the top ten would be addressing the tight end position.
00:51 And in fact, I got a good little statistical nugget here for
00:55 Brock Bowers and Michael Meyer.
00:56 There have been two tight ends in college football in the last 15 years to have
01:00 multiple seasons with over 800 receiving yards.
01:04 Their names are Brock Bowers and Michael Meyer.
01:06 They're really not that dissimilar.
01:09 I think Bowers will be good.
01:11 I think that ultimately what's gonna end up happening is they're just gonna play
01:14 them both together quite a bit.
01:16 Bowers is gonna play off the line of scrimmage.
01:19 Michael Meyer will be asked to block a little bit more.
01:22 For Dynasty Leagues, I actually am probably not gonna end up with Bowers
01:26 on very many of my teams.
01:28 I was a little bit concerned that he didn't do the athletic testing.
01:31 What I wanted to have happen was either for him to fall to 18,
01:35 where the Cincinnati Bengals were picking, or for the Bengals to trade up and
01:39 acquire him, that felt like the most natural marriage.
01:42 They have this huge gaping hole at both tight end and at third wide receiver.
01:46 They're kind of ready made for someone to operate underneath,
01:49 because Higgins and Chase do their best work down the field.
01:53 And now Bowers is coming into an offense with Aiden O'Connell and
01:56 Gardner Minshew.
01:57 It just doesn't feel like the best nurturing environment for
02:02 Bowers' abilities.
