00:00 The KL High Court has dismissed an application by Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz,
00:09 who was seeking to file in his affidavit in Datuk Seri Najib Razak's application for
00:14 leave to initiate judicial review, linked to a purported Royal Addendum order that should
00:20 place Najib under house arrest.
00:22 Tengku Zafrul had wanted to file his affidavit in the main application, which he claimed
00:27 would correct "factual inaccuracies" in a supplementary affidavit filed by Deputy
00:32 Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi in support of Najib's application.
00:39 However, Justice Amarjeet Singh dismissed Tengku Zafrul's application during an in-chamber
00:45 proceeding on Thursday.
00:47 When met by reporters, Senior Federal Counsel Ahmad Hanir Hambali, who appeared for the
00:54 Attorney General's Chambers, said the matter was still at the ex parte leave stage and
00:59 that there was no law provision for Tengku Zafrul to insert his affidavit at this point.
01:04 He added that Tengku Zafrul can try again in his legal action when the Court allows
01:08 leave on the main application.
01:10 Lawyer Tanshri Muhammad Shafi Abdullah, who represented Najib, said he objected to Tengku
01:15 Zafrul's application to file in the affidavit because the applicant was not a party to the
01:21 main suit.
01:22 Tengku Zafrul was represented by lawyer Datuk Sunil Abraham.
