00:00 Here's today's Derbyshire Times video bulletin.
00:03 Derbyshire goes to the polls today to elect the first ever East Midlands Mayor.
00:08 Voters from the county will join those in Nottinghamshire to elect the person to lead the new East Midlands Combined County Authority,
00:15 which will have access to more than £4 billion of new investment in the region for skills, transport, housing, regeneration and net zero projects.
00:24 Mark Rogers, who's the interim chief executive of the new authority said,
00:28 "It's absolutely vital that people across Derbyshire go to the polls this Thursday.
00:32 This is their region, their mayor and their vote, and it's going to have a major impact on their future.
00:38 For people in Derbyshire, Derby, Nottinghamshire and Nottingham, this is a genuinely historic moment.
00:44 For the first time, they will have regional control, so decisions about major issues can be taken in a way that suits regional needs,
00:51 rather than a one-size-fits-all national policy."
00:56 A Derbyshire Mountain Rescue Team has helped track down Happy Monday star Sean Ryder's missing dog,
01:02 reuniting him with his owner after going missing on the moors.
01:05 Sean's dog, called Malcolm, was returned after going missing, getting lost on the moorland area covered by the Glossop Mountain Rescue Team.
01:13 Sean wrote, "Malcolm is home. A massive thank you to the Glossop Mountain Rescue Team and Drone2Home for finding him."
