00:04 Residents and businesses that were affected by flooding which occurred across Chesterfield
00:08 and North Derbyshire last October are being urged to apply for flood repair grants.
00:13 The scheme will allow owners of flood-hit homes and businesses to apply for up to £5,000
00:18 to pay for measures to help to protect their property from flooding in the future.
00:23 This could help make the property less likely to flood internally or reduce the impact if
00:27 flooding does occur.
00:29 If your property wasn't flooded during this period, the property will not be eligible
00:32 for the grant according to the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
00:37 For more information, visit the Derbyshire County Council website which is the local
00:42 authority administering the grants on behalf of the government.
00:47 Acclaimed Derbyshire wildlife photographer, Villager Jim has landed yet another national
00:51 award after capturing a stunning wintry moment in the Peak District.
00:55 Jim's image of a deer crossing a snow-covered Derbyshire road was voted Picture of the Year
01:00 in a competition run by news photo agency SWNS which supplies images to newspapers and
01:06 magazines across the globe.
01:08 Jim said "I took the shot whilst out on the moors looking for a barn owl that I know,
01:12 and while stood there in total silence, the wonderful chap walked out of the woods maybe
01:16 30 metres away from me and crossed over the very quiet country lane.
01:20 It was a wonderful moment and now we have this wonderful award."
