00:00I'm not sure if you'd ever heard on the news, I think it was yesterday,
00:02about the guy with the sword, there was a violent attack.
00:05Just wondering how safe you feel in London, do you think it's a safe place?
00:09I feel like at the moment there's a lot going on with regards to knife crime,
00:16a lot of phone theft as well, I keep my phone in my pocket quite a lot of the time now.
00:22I don't tend to make a lot of eye contact with people at the moment,
00:27but I think that there needs to be something with regards to safety,
00:31I feel like the police do their part, but you can't police everything, can you?
00:36It feels fairly safe, I know there are decent areas in London, there are not so nice areas
00:41where you don't want to walk at certain times, but it's about knowing where you are,
00:45obviously if you're a tourist you don't know.
00:46I mean I've been feeling decently safe, but it's mostly because I'm with someone
00:52who's already kind of experienced and I can tell she's been avoiding certain areas very clearly.
00:57So I can tell that I've been going to safer places,
01:02I see some corners that might not look as safe as other ones.
01:05And if there was a way to improve safety in London, what do you think you would do?
01:10There probably isn't one answer, police presence would be one,
01:13but obviously yesterday the knife attack, everyone was there,
01:17but I think it would have to do with also resources being put into
01:22what young people are actually doing these days,
01:24so it could be trying to get them off the streets, give them something to do,
01:27a job, something to lose, so that you don't have people roaming around doing knife crime,
01:35and it should keep them occupied, actually have something to lose in society,
01:39where they actually wouldn't be good upstanding citizens.
01:42Obviously things happen for a reason,
01:45who knows what the guy was thinking at that time, there must have been something.
01:48In general in London then you think seven out of ten is safe?
01:51Seven, seven, yeah.
