00:14 Welcome to another episode of Billboard News,
00:18 I'm Rania Niftos, and let's jump right in.
00:21 If you thought the Kendrick, Lamar, and Drake beef
00:28 was anywhere near squashed,
00:30 Kendrick just turned up the heat.
00:32 Kendrick Lamar's surprise dropped "Euphoria"
00:39 in response to Drake's push-ups
00:41 and TaylorMade freestyle where he used AI
00:43 to include Tupac in the diss track.
00:45 "Euphoria" is over six minutes of diss after diss
00:54 mostly against Drake.
00:56 But also, J. Cole.
00:58 That's likely in reference to rapper YNW Melly,
01:04 who is currently on trial for allegedly
01:06 killing two of his friends.
01:07 He pleaded not guilty to the charges.
01:09 Kendrick also touches on Drake's feud with Pusha T.
01:12 And brings up one of his favorite rappers,
01:19 Drake's new song "Pusha T."
01:21 "Pusha T."
01:22 "Let me see you push a T."
01:24 And brings up one of his recent collaborators.
01:27 "You stand by sexy red, I believe you see two bad b*tches."
01:30 "I believe you don't like women, it's real competition."
01:32 "You might pop ass with 'em."
01:33 And that's just some of the many disses in "Euphoria."
01:36 For a full breakdown of the song,
01:38 head over to Billboard.com.
01:40 Of course, we got more news to get to.
01:42 Here's three things you should know.
01:44 "What's your Instagram @ so all the Katy cats
01:46 can let you know how they feel?"
01:48 "Hazes hair."
01:49 Katy Perry debuted a new 'do while filming
01:51 American Idol, and while she asked for fans' opinions,
01:54 the truth is...
01:55 "You guys had a lot of strong feelings about my haircut.
01:58 Let's see that energy for KP6.
02:01 'Cause this is just a wig."
02:03 So all of you Katy cats who experienced witness PTSD,
02:06 don't worry.
02:07 Also, who cares? Katy looks good.
02:09 Now bring on KP6.
02:11 Also wigging out, Dua Lipa.
02:13 She posed for Beauty Papers magazine
02:15 in a special gorilla zine.
02:17 Rocking red, black, and blonde in images
02:19 taken by Kalia Shor, Johnny DeFore, and Brianna Capozzi.
02:23 New photo shoots, new music, hosting, and performer duty
02:26 on SNL all in one week?
02:28 How does she do it?
02:29 One more main to talk about.
02:31 "A lion was born without a drop of nobility in his blood."
02:36 The trailer for Mufasa dropped, and Disney recruited
02:39 Blue Ivy to voice a character in the prequel
02:41 to the live-action Lion King.
02:43 "It is a girl."
02:44 "Girl."
02:45 "GIRL!"
02:46 Blue will play Kiara, daughter to
02:48 Beyoncé's Nala.
02:50 From joining her on songs and on stage
02:52 and now the silver screen,
02:53 I know what B must be feeling.
02:55 A lot of pride.
02:56 On to our brand new Billboard Español cover.
02:59 Mike Towers is the man of the hour.
03:02 Someone I'd like to make music with?
03:04 There's a long list, but if I had to pick a Latino
03:08 who would send me a chorus, I'd always want to make a song
03:10 with Romulo Santos.
03:12 That's another flow.
03:13 The most recent I can tell you is,
03:16 everyone knows, the songs that became a hit
03:19 without anyone stopping them, is Nala.
03:21 It's the most successful song of my career so far.
03:29 I don't know how to explain it, but people liked it.
03:32 You have to, as an artist, see what you like,
03:35 what people like, and what is missing.
03:37 And work between those triangles.
03:39 If I record it, it's because I like it.
03:41 But once you release it,
03:43 people will receive it.
03:45 I always give it my all when I'm in that booth
03:49 so I don't regret what I've recorded.

03:55 Nothing is better than some friendly exes
03:57 and Aitana and Sebastian Yatra are ultimate ex-gols.
04:01 We've known each other for a long time.
04:04 I've known Sebastian for a long time.
04:06 Spanish singer Aitana reveals what it was like
04:09 working with her ex, Sebastian Yatra,
04:11 in a new exclusive Billboard News interview.
04:14 The exes, who reportedly broke up in December 2023,
04:24 remain closer than ever, with Aitana having
04:26 nothing but good things to say about Sebastian.
04:29 As for their latest emotional song together,
04:46 it's something that was in the works for a while.
04:49 So, the truth is that I'll tell you that
04:51 "Akureyri" is a song that we started in Iceland
04:54 on a trip that we both did in 2023 for my birthday.
04:58 We were there for two days and we bought a guitar.
05:02 We went to buy a guitar and we started composing in the car,
05:05 going to see waterfalls and landscapes in Iceland.
05:08 I was driving, I just got my driving license,
05:12 and Sebastian was with the guitar as a co-pilot.
05:16 I'll probably go to Leila, and not many people know this,
05:19 I haven't told anyone, but for my next project
05:22 I'm doing a lot of songs with him.
05:24 We get along really well in the studio.
05:26 Check out Aitana's Instagram @Aitana_Syra.
05:29 It's not every day you get a legend in the studio,
05:32 and good thing Tetris took this one because
05:34 my neck would still be hurting from whipping my hair back and forth.
05:37 I truly believe that this album is my first grown-up album.
05:43 Okay, okay.
05:44 Obviously, I'm still young, but I feel like
05:49 I started making music so young that
05:52 you always try to find yourself, you know what I'm saying?
05:55 There's never a moment in your life where you're like,
05:56 "This is me!"
05:57 Right, this is true.
05:58 But there is a moment in your life where you realize
06:01 what really matters to you, and you realize the path that,
06:06 no matter what changes, the path that you're always going to be on.
06:11 And for me, that path is sharpening my musicianship,
06:15 sharpening my compassion, and those two go hand in hand.
06:20 And I feel like this album is the first album where
06:25 I'm on the same page with myself.
06:27 What about writing with your family?
06:29 Jayden's a musician.
06:30 Yeah, totally.
06:31 You guys have worked together,
06:32 so how was it to kind of share influences with him?
06:34 I just love him so much, and being able to share
06:39 a purpose with someone so close to you
06:44 that shares your blood and your veins,
06:47 there's nothing better.
06:48 There's really nothing better than that.
06:50 To be able to act on our purpose together,
06:55 that's what life is about.
06:56 I'm hoping we have more music in the future.
06:59 That's what I was going to ask.
07:00 You guys worked together on this last project,
07:02 so there's got to be something in the future.
07:04 There's things in the works.
07:05 There's things bubbling up.
07:07 I'll let him express more about that.
07:09 For the full interview, head to Billboard's YouTube page.
07:12 That's today's show.
07:13 Come back tomorrow for some Mimi and Shensia.
07:16 I'm Rania Aniftos and this is Billboard News.
07:19 News.
